Hi! New follower and fellow nail artist here! I absolutely love your videos. I do recommend not reusing your monomer again and again from the same jar. It will get dirty and potentially ruin future sets. If it gets dirty you’ll have to dump it and waste product. I do love the idea of keeping monomer in an airtight mason jar though but suggest using a regular dappen dish for a fresh set. Sending love from Miami! 💅🏼💕
Just seen what she was talking about but yes cutie you should always use clean monomer I always change monomer w each hand unless I used really pigmented acrylic then change sooner but doing this way will make for hard application by time you get down lower after a couple uses not sure how big jar was but just wanted to share
@@NailLove7137 A lot of us in the nail community love to lift each other up! One of the many reasons why I love it so much! All love, zero hate over here 🙏🏼💕
Im not sure if you notice but them bibs are good for keeping spills but they don’t clean the brush good so if you notice that acrylic is sticking to bristles it’s probably the bibs they don’t work good for cleaning the brush very good atleast in my opinion
I've been doing nails a little over 20 years now, and honestly if you know what you are doing and comfortable doing it there NO difference in the brushes! 💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤
These are stunning! Took me a day and half to watch (babies always demand attention which is rare she wants her mom over her dad haha) and I do love the chain gem heart, good call on the changing them. I do also agree that just as is is very pretty on its own but haha it’s always the cherry on top when you add the charms or gems, etc on them. It’s like you’re adding a bit of you or that’s my thought there haha
I was able to clean all the acrylic out of my cheap brushes using Dawn dishwashing liquid and warm water rubbing it or combing through with my fingers and then I rinsed it thoroughly and it’s fine. But I do plan to invest in a good brush because I’m very new to learning how to do acrylic nails myself.
hiiii, i'm a silent subscriber (been subscribed since you were at 3-4k) and i'm breaking my silence to ask you something. how did you become comfortable with working with acrylic? i personally had a really bad experience with doing acrylic (when i was 14 i tried to do it without knowing how to and i accidentally ripped half my nail off trying to get it off😅) and ever since i've just been so scared to use it again.
Aww hiiii 🥹🫶🩷 I was also scared to try acrylic at first, but I just kept practicing and doing things that I couldn't really achieve with gelx (like mixing glitters and pigments into my acrylic 🥰). I also watched a lot of other youtubers using acrylic, which definitely helped! Just remember to take it slow, and maybe practice on swatch sticks or a practice hand first if you're afraid to use it on your own nails again🫶🫶🫶
It's funny the Pana clear handle I recently got is not my fav. But it's not crimped like i prefer, but it's also shorter than any other brush I have so it's quite odd. But I have def gotten some of my fav brushes alot cheaper and some I like alot less I spent even more on. Price isn't the only factor sadly hahaah. I wish it was that easy. But you can easily soak your brush if it gets gunked up (if it's 100% kolinsky atleast) and just remoisturize with monomor and reshape and good as new.
Hmm if the brush is drying up fast might still be some product on it, usually it's best to give it a quick soak in polish remover than a good wipe. 💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤
Never put your brushes in polish remover 😬 it will totally ruin them and strip the bristles. My acrylic brush is closer to $100 but had it for years. Been doing nails nearly 35 years so been through a few. You can soak in monomer if you have acrylic stuck in there just make sure it’s not too deep as it can break down the glue that holds the bristles in the handle. Also don’t lean your brush on the tip while doing this as it will ruin the shape. You can also pour boiling water on clean brushes and they will spring back to shape if you have any crazy bristles. Normally my hard gel brush has its moments 😆 Hope this helps someone 💅🌸
@rachnailedit while I agree never use a regular polish remover, you can absolutely soak for a few minutes in 100% acetone, if the brush is truly 100% kolinsky sable to dissolve everything stuck in it, then soak in monomor and reshape, good as new. I've had brushes for over 15yrs and use this method often as I get lazy often when speeding through a set etc. This will not work with cheap brushes though. This is why I always reccomend spending a bit more and getting a quality kolinsky brush even when just starting
@@rachnaileditalso please note, boiling water will harm your natural hair brushes and will only reshape artificial hair/bristle brushes. But it is wonderful for fraying wacky artificial brushes ;)
Aww thank yooouu 🥹🫶 that means a lot to me ❤️❤️ especially cuz I was feeling kinda bumed because I stayed up until 4:30 am editing a video for you guys, but I went to sleep while it was exporting and uploading and it crashed so it didn't upload 😭 I'll be out of town for the day so it'll have to wait till tomorrow 🫠🥲 haha sorryyy, I felt like I needed to tell one of you 😂🥹❤️
Hey Anne, I must say, every time I see pink and blue ombré, it’s adorable. They are the best colors together when they make the purple in the middle. So beautiful. I have that Pana brush without the Pana name and I swear it’s the exact same brush. I love it and am sure Pana bought these brushes and stenciled their name on them. $6.00 AUD, which is about $4.00 USD. Such a rip off I think. Great job and for doing nails for 1 yr, you rock ❤️🇦🇺
Thank you!!! You're so sweet 🥹 where did you find it?? Cuz that's epic 😂 there's definitely better affordable ones out there than the one i used even! ❤️❤️
yes new brushes come with packing powder basically it helps keep the brush bristles protected so you need to break it loose and clean it out before using 😁
yes know, but technically I used a size 12 for the cheaper one, which was supposed to be bigger than the size 10 I used for the $30 one 🥲 So to me it's pretty fair 😂
Crystal Clear Acrylic by ANACRYLICS trust me you won’t look back on finding the perfect clear acrylic she even demos it a lot on her yt channel so you can see before you buy rn it’s $17 so i say get it
Yay!! I hope it will be helpful 😂 I wish I knew what I did now before I bought like 30 cheap acrylic brushes that I ended up ruining and throwing away 😭😭😭 💗💗💗 I loveeeeeee making glitter acrylics
I know this comment is two months late but I only just started watching your videos a week or two ago.. lol. But you’re amazing, especially for only working with acrylic for a year! I have been and I’m still shiiii.. ahem. I’ve been binge watching your videos for the last like 3 days.
OMG BABE UR SO CLOSE TO 10K!!! im so proud of u truly. ur heart and vibes make me so happy. like i literally never comment on youtube but i feel so safe here
I appreciate ya! I start school Thursday and I’m super excited! lol I did find it funny sitting in the Paul Mitchell school and comparing the starter kit to things I already have… lmfao. Like I have better equipment than most of my starter kit will have! Lmfao but I’m super excited either way lmfao I just got my Kiara Sky order and I picked up a fancy brush lol
HOW FUN!!! Congratulations! I'm sure it's going to be an epic summer for you, enjoy every moment!! 🫶🩵🥹 definitely feel free to share any knowledge you learn with us 😂🫶🩷💜💗💜
Hey cutiiiiie! Great video idea, I’m excited to watch! As usual, I’m laying in bed and I’ll probably fall asleep and come back tomorrow. Hahah. You’re the best! ❤
Yesterday I used acrylic for the first time ever. But just to apply large charms on my nails, because the uv glue won’t cure under them. It’s so different to gel because it dries on its own. It kind of freaked me out that I had to hurry up and couldn’t just take my time with it 😔 But It’s kind of fun. Also you know when I asked on your other video for full cover long almond nail tips? I actually just shaped my stiletto tips into long almonds which worked really well 💗🙂↕️ And omg I also said on one of your videos that I was sad I couldn’t find the pre build apex tips in my country. I actually found some on Amazon and ordered them! I am so excited!! The brand is called Novo-Ovo.
Aww ya, acrylic is super different than gel and kinda freaky at first if you're super new to it, but it gets easier, i promise! I actually find that the way it sets on it's own is easier for me to work with than gel 😂 💗🥰🥹🩷🩵
These are gorgeous girl! 💎🩷🩵So my aesthetic and something I’d wear all day! I’d have stuck with some cuticle bling but I’m boring! lol Also, try getting fresh monomer when you go to clear cap. The monomer gets dirty as you’re using it and it affects the clear-just a tip! 😁😁
Ooh I’m loving this nail set! It turned out super cute!!! ❤ Girl you have come so far with your acrylic application! It’s looking so good!! I have the #8 size Pana brush from Amazon as well as several other much cheaper ones in various sizes and different brands. The Pana brush is my absolute favorite though. I think there is a noticeable difference in not just the quality of the bristles but the ease of application as well. That being said, I do have some average priced Modelones acrylic brushes that work well too. It can be just a matter of personal preference too and what works best for you. 😊❤
Mixing pink blue and purple together are my favorite! They just make such a pretty ombré. I’ve been wanting to use these Aurora foils for over a year but I can’t get them on the nail nicely. I’ve got the same set as you amd a few other brands. Just did my first Japanese gel order and ordered the Bonnie B foils (all of them) 😂 can’t use acrylic but I will figure it out one day 😅 love this set 🫶🫶
I lovveeee Ombres!!! Especially with acrylic 😂 It's not as hard as you think it iz, at least that was the case for me when I first tried 🩷💗💜🩵 Also, the Aurora stuff is definitely tricky!
Hi girly! I literally started my own diy nail journey like 2-3 weeks ago and your vids have been so informative and now such a comfort to me ❤ I just did my second gel x set but first with a bunch of new charms and I’m livvvving~ thank you for your awesome content I love your videos and nail designs so much (haha even if you want to take them off😂) I totally get that tho sometimes it just ain’t the vibe~
If you want clear acrylic that doesn't cost an arm or leg, you can try mia secret and young nails clear. Both beautifully clear when used with a good monomer. You can also get kiara sky or not polish but those brands are more expensive. Also, a tip for ungunking brushes is too add A BIT of acetone to your leftover monomer. You technically aren't supposed to reuse it but monomer mixed with acetone will clean tour brushes without destroying them.
Thanks for the video!❤ You should try cutting off a wax strips as lint free wipes, its really lint free and cheaper! Also how do you take those nails off? By filing or soaking?
Loved the video ❤ Was thinking you should try 1 finger for lazy, 1 for tip, 1 for full cover and one you build with forms and see how easy/hard it is to get them all looking the same / compare how they all look when side by side Looking forward to some more of your super cute vlogs too ❤❤❤
OMG NO WAY I've literally had that video idea in mind for like 5 months 😭😭😂😂💕💕💕💕💕💕 I want to compare which method is quickest and looks best 🥰💗💗 I think this comment is a sign that it's time 💖💖💖💖
Soak your brushes with monomer instead of acetone. It will loosen the harden acrylic up. Hope's that helps. Just got out of school for nail technician.
i have some cheaper brushes for doing my acrylic swatches but i do find they dont hold as much liquid and dry out or gunk up quicker, I tried a brush from naoi nails in the UK and boy did i notice the difference the acrylic went on like butter!
So, here's what I will say about brushes in general, which I learned in art classes and saw in practice as a makeup artist. Generally, a more expensive brush means better materials and binding - denser fibers, better quality glue so that it won't come apart as easily. Some brush makers will do a "crimp" at the base of the fiber bundle before they are set with the glue, which makes it super strong, but is an expensive process that adds to the cost of the brush. Visually, there's no easy way to see how the fibers are set so cheaper brushes may work well for a while, but fall apart faster, where the more expensive brush will last longer. This becomes crucial when you are using them every day, all day - if I have to replace a brush once a month or more, or pay more for one that I only replace once a year, it's obvious what I'm gonna choose. Of course, this isn't always the case - sometimes expensive brushes are just crap. :D I would say for nail art, it would matter more to a tech working on the public, as it did for me when I was a makeup artist. No way would I risk cleaning a brush and having fibers come off in front of a client, or not being able to use alcohol to sanitize brushes due to weak glue. For myself, though, I rock an e.l.f brush and I don't care... fibers come out, whatevah... the whole brush tip comes off, there's always gorilla glue. haha Edit: I wanted to say these nails came out super cute! The chain hearts are adorable! Also, did you get the small ring with the heart charm recently? I have some earrings like that!
THANK YOU FOR THIS!! 💗💗💗 You literally explain things so flawlessly...are you a writer? 👀 cuz you definitely could be an amazing one if you wanted to 😆🫶 This makes so much sense and is very insightfulll! I just like how the Pana brush feels tbh 😂 I think the handle is heavier or something lolll and YES! I got the heart ring from temu loll ☺️💗✨️
@@AnneElizabethNails haha! ❤ Actually, I am a writer, I'm surprised you picked up on that! Cool! Rings are my jewelry of choice, I wear three on my right hand at all times, just one on my left. Kinda want that stone now. 😉
@LydiaKrow 😆🩷🩷🩷🩷 I knew it! Lolll! I can link the ring in the description box for you just in case ;D they're my jewelry of choice as well ☺️🫶💗 Edit: i just looked on Temu and that ring in particular was discontinued, from that seller at least 😭 But you might still be able to find it if you look 🩷🩷
@@AnneElizabethNails I’m ok not great but ok. I’ve been having a lot of problems with anxiety. It’s been so bad that 8m haven’t left my house in a week and half. I’m doing better than I was and it’s getting better.
Whenever I get a notification that Anne's doing an acrylic nail video it makes my whole dayyyy literally watch them on repeat ! Love these so much seriously
This set is sooooooooo dang cute I love them so much. I bought so much stuff to do aurora nails and still haven’t used it. Think today will be the day. You’ve inspired me to do aurora nails on one hand and a pride set on the other. I love anything rainbow and especially pastel rainbow.
@@AnneElizabethNails can’t wait to watch and I love aurora nails too but I’ve always put off doing them because I’m afraid I won’t do them as good as I want them too 😂 that sentence didn’t sound right. What I’m saying is I don’t think I can do a set that I’ll be ok with. I’m very picky with my nails and if they don’t look like I want them to I have to redo them because I’ll go crazy wearing a set of nails for 2 weeks that I don’t like 😂
