Good video. Everyone; You should never ever ever soak your brushes in acetone. Especially if they are real Kolinskyn because you’re drying out your expensive quality brush that you use to make a living, work harder, and not smarter, & grow your skills. You always use brush cleaner with moisturizer. Always try to buy the most moisturizing brush cleaner you can. Acetone is just for a quick fix, clean up, possibly clean the ferrule of the brush, which would be the silver/metal part. I see all of this because I have experience in 31 years of doing nails. I keep up on all trends and all but I was going on and a fundamental rule is what I stated above. It’ll make your life so much easier.

Yes I mix brush cleaner and acetone but in my experience acetone is good for when brush cleaner isn’t quite getting the job done 😂 sometimes brush cleaner coats it but doesn’t actually get into the bristles to dissolve everything but if you use a quality real kolinsky brush it won’t matter but to each it’s own!

Hey , you can use acetone just apply cuticle oil after to rehydrate ❤
@unboundbytiffany

Nah incorrect. Your brush will be fine. If you have dried up acrylic just use acetone. Nothing else is gonna work at that point so why toss it? Thats ridiculous. I've used acetone for years. You don't soak it for more than a few minutes, def not for hours or anything insane. But 100% legit kolinsky sable is absolutely able to withstand solvents. Us traditional artists use them with solvents as well and I've been using acetone to clean out old dried up kolinsky nail brushes for over a decade. Theyre all still beautiful. Just soak in momonor to rehydrate after and your fine. I'm so over the whole "never use acetone" nonsense all over the internet nowadays. It's ridiculous. Kolinsky sables are breed to withstand extremely harsh winters and extreme conditions etc. The hairs can absolutely handle some acetone that doesn't even truly absorb into the bristles fully anyways, that's why it's so wonderful about holding so much liquid it's fibers/layers hold different amounts of different viscosities, far superior to any artificial fibers. So yes you can absolutely soak your 100% kolinsky sable hair brush in acetone as needed. Especially if it comes down to tossing your brush or not? That's just moronic tbh. The issue that likely started this whole myth was people soaking fake kolinsky sable brushes or brushes that are hybrid hairs (some kolinsky to fool buyers, mostly artificial) and acetone will just eventually melt the bristles. But because someone believed a crap seller stating it was 100% kolinsky sable (oh gosh or worse, kolinsky sable VEGAN. Oh my. Just side note. Can't be actual kolinsky and vegan lol) and thought it was just acetone destroying their brush. Now another side note- not all handles can be exposed to solvents. Like in the video. Don't put the ferrule or handle in acetone or solvents etc. ❤️

Although the v beauty pure sz 16 brush I purchased is crimpred, it feels/looks so much more narrow than my other brushes. Should I crimp it more?
@Prettyface-peaches
@Prettyface-peaches 3 месяца назад
Not sure as I don’t have a visual but I wouldn’t say purchasing brushes online crimped are accurate lol this is why I def recommend going to nail supplies so you can see it real time and have it adjusted! You can try to diy but honestly it’s not easy and if you do it wrong you’ll ruin the brush bc bristles can get turned the wrong direction or fall out 😭

Size matters for sure but I feel it depends on the length. On such a short nail I thinks size 20 will give a to thick application. A real size 12 or 14 would suffice. Like YN Greg signature brush 🖌️ is a great one because it is point and also becomes flat. Great quality also. Another great brush because of its shape in my opinion is from Luyen Deng. I have three different sizes and depending on the length depends on which one I use but they are amazing. But great demonstration and I love you honesty.
@Prettyface-peaches
@Prettyface-peaches Год назад
Thank you! I stick to the same brush every time and I like bristles at this length but you’re correct that different brands have different bristle lengths and all that! But even with short bristels the tip would still be flat so application wouldn’t change ! The only thing that would change is the ability to move product as there’s less space on the brush to do certain patting and pulling techniques but That’s why it’s important for ppl to find what works for them! I don’t like buying online bc the sizing is way smaller lol like size 12s are usually more like size 10e etc 😂
@ebonibrandon
@ebonibrandon 8 месяцев назад
The tech determines thickness, shape final outcome on ANY nail, NOT the brush. All that comes down to technique and experience. I work with a 16 or 18 brush. My preference and I use them on ALL sets. Honestly the only difference for me is whichever is clean or which I grab first. When you master liquid/powder ratio it really doesn't matter that much what size brush you use for application and it reduces your time and increases the number of clients you can work with. You can do one bead that's too thick with an 8 or one bead that's perfect with a 22.

I have a question because I’m a new sub so I’m trying to catch up with some of your videos but question: I see you use 90’s mail tips and I’m wondering do you ever use a different style of nail tip? I see you use the curved tips. Super curved. I don’t understand how we wore those back in the day, but we did 😅lol trends come back trends leave… understood. However; again, do you ever use any other shape or Pearl tips and also do you use forms and sculpt nails just in case someone wants a straight or more of a C curve nail tip enhancement?
@Prettyface-peaches
@Prettyface-peaches Год назад
Hi ! No I just use regular tips lol these are just standard natural tips not super curved! There are tips that curve way more than these lol I use these bc I did nails before covid and before everyone became at home techs during covid and companies realized straight tips were so easy for ppl to use 😂 so this isn’t a trend for me I like them and they’re very cheap and there’s a lot of girls who like the regular look rather than the trendier flat and skinny! Also these tips work with a lot more types of fingers and nail types 🥰 anyone who comes to me knows this is what I use! I actually recommend that you don’t bend over backwards buying a whole bunch of tips or constantly changing your techniques bc if someone likes your work they will book regardless! It can actually confuse someone when there’s so many options or if a techs work always looks different 😭
