How beautiful, I am envious. From age 3 thru 7 my family lived in the high country of a town in Oregon USA. We had snow just like this. My father would cut out steps in the snow up to the roof of the garage, take the toboggan up and we would ride it down to the snow. Being little my brother and I could jump off of the porch into the snow and be in a upright tunnel. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories.

My childhood in the Highlands of Scotland was like this in winter, snow higher then us, sledging, making snow things, walking through the fields knee deep and more. I even climbed the local mountain one winter to get the view, I was about 10 years old ,, no fear just joy in my surroundings ,,, today we no longer have snow, december is almost a time for t-shirts ,,,, strange ,,,, but no one questions it ,,, I miss this cycle, it was so healthy and we were never ill !! no colds, no flu ,, just happy ,,,

This is the most wonderful way to clean wool blankets, too! They come out puffy, and fluffy, and immaculate. Much, much better than sending to the cleaners. I love the way this method works on carpets, too. I used to open all the windows and doors and bring in snow by the dishpan, and sweep it into the wall-to-wall carpet, and then sweep it out the door. It did a perfect job of cleaning.

I have my Oma's carpet beater. It is smaller than the one you have and the color of wood. It is old so not used on the rugs but seeing you clean your rugs reminds me very much of my mom using another beater. She would also spread white items to bleach in the sun. I do the same today with some of my pillows and cases and some linens! I loved watching you sitting in your snow chair having coffee with the crisp air and snow and cleaning the rugs! Puss& Kram!

Awww...Snow, how lovely is that. Well, I'm watching this in 2020 and this winter there is absolutely NO snow at all where I live and that makes me sad. My whole life I've always had a preference for fall and winter but there is just nothing, not even a glimpse of winter feeling 🙁. Great snow chair! :) And, yes, as much as I adore melty summer heat (well, we don't get all that hot up here in the New York Catskill Mtns, so it's nice when it does get above 26C), there is nothing like a crisp, sunny winter day - no wind, or not much - cold enough to bundle up, but not so cold to freeze your nose shut. I don't know why breathing that air and walking in it is so very energizing and invigorating, but it sure is. And I love how still and serene Nature is in that cold. And the winter night skies - wah!! Thank you for sharing the experience - perfectly shared, I could feel being there. And I never knew about snow-cleaning the rugs!

Here in the USA, we have rainey cities like Seattle, Washington in the Pacific Northwest. I witnessed 2 friends marveling at the rain, as it went from a gray drizzle to a full downpour over the Puget Sound...”My isn’t that beautiful,” one said, as they stared in adoration at the rain. Same thing with Swedes and the snow. ( But to be fair- I live in Colorado- and it is much like a winter wonderland ❄️❄️❄️, except I’m not too fond of the cold.) In my cold climate wilderness hiking and living I clean my clothing using the snow method. Then hanging up near the campfire while allowing the sun to kill bacteria and the wind and warmth of the campfire to dry. Wild animals use the snow to help clean their fur as well.... We can learn so much from Nature if we take the time to observe. Very beautiful and peaceful video.... Thank you for sharing ❤ ✌ 👣 ❄

I've never thought of snow cleaning carpets, but it is a great idea. I remember beating rugs when I was a kid, but because of allergies, we really don't have many rugs anymore. We do have one in the library that needs cleaning, I might just snow clean it if we get a cold day!

I think I know what you mean - it's -7C (feels like -17C) here in Canada - the sun's very bright and warm & if you're out of the wind it's quite pleasant. I remember my Mom, sisters and I snow-cleaning the rugs in mid-winter when I was a child in Nova Scotia (a very long time ago.) I haven't thought of that in years - bringing them in, hanging them to dry and drinking hot chocolate at the kitchen table with red cheeks and noses.

You have such a beautiful attitude! This winter I intend to enjoy just like you do in Sweden!
