@Neville Mostly because: A. They see that your mashing space bar (your revive icon flickers) B. There are enemies around (You wouldn't believe the amount of idiots that demand me to suicide rush in to revive when they have 5 enemies at their body) C. They just have given up revives because everyone skips it or they're just new to the game, which happens but hopefully these will learn.
Here's a pro tip! If you go prone before a cavalryman manages to slash at you with his sword you'll actually dodge it. You can however still die from being trampled by a horse though so watch out.
I know right? I have to play medic because everyone else is so bad at it on my team usually. I'll be a medic halfway through the game and still get most revives and on the top of the leaderboard.
BFViking Tru but only when the situation is right. Not every death warrants a revive especially when it could kill you and the guy u revive that's a pro tip ☺
Pro Tips: If you're a Medic and see the Revive Icon flashing, don't rush in. Either the dead guy is an idiot, he's trying to save you from an ambush, or he just wants to change his class. I skip revive if I know the Medic will die if he tries to save me. So don't think that badly of Revive Skippers, maybe they're just trying to save your skin so you can be useful elsewhere.
tips for medics...if the icon above a dead team member is flashing they are skipping the revive. so don't rush over to revive them they may just be trying to save you from getting killed. revive the guys with a solid icon above their corpse's.
People have no idea how important this is for their team and how it can also hurt the team. I've sent some of the squad leaders messages to unlock the squad but they say no....like wtf?!
Stig Player This is soooo good to me when playing the enemy though. So many squad wipes! Hate it when its our team though because they are essentially just giving points away.
It's cool you can blow the doors up but EA needs to allow players with the wrench to repair them like how you could repair bridges in other battlefield games, tried last night and you can't fix the doors after they are destroyed
When you die, DONT FUCKING SKIP AHEAD IF YOU SEE A MEDIC COMING RIGHT AT YOU. I've died probably 1000 times because of 11 year olds with add who can't wait an extra 10 seconds for me to revive them
... and I'm still waiting to get a revive ... :-) ... I often skip if I'm getting shot from multiple directions, just to give an explanation why somebody wanna die. Could be you died cause there are enemies - don't try to rambo-revive. I think the symbol flashes if you push the skip-button - seen it several times. Just be aware of it.
I don't mean there aren't enough buttons in general, I mean there isn't enough buttons because this game already uses all of the buttons available. To further my point, try to change your spot button to a useless button on your controller in the game.
thats to button to open doors, use turrets and pretty much used every 5 seconds and i don't feel like accidently putting a bayonet every time i miss the button to open a door.
They might have been obvious for you, but there are plenty of other people in the comments who didn't know these tips. Next episode I'll be featuring a lot of the tips from this comments section, so do you have anything to add? :)
While laying prone seems like a great idea, and it might be in small amounts, staying there will almost insure your enemy gets a headshot once you're spotted. So, dive to reload/take cover for a short time/or rechamber, but get up and at em quick as possible.
If you've hit the spot button too many times it goes into a cool down mode, that is why it doesn't work every time. It keeps people from spamming the spot button and it working like it did in bf4.
that glitch has been since years, i still remember getting it in bf3.. I bet you might have and amount of button touches per time, otherwise you will press the spot button like crazy around the map
Westie please feature this in the next episode and it's the slide. Sliding around corners or in front of enemies will change your stance and make you a harder target to hit. The enemy will never expect you to slide beneath them and this works really well with a good hip fire weapon. Numerous times I have out played someone with this trick and I don't see much of it on the Battlefield. Loved the video man :)
+Jeff B-c No he didn't... He's already in the main menu, and will be there for some time. EA asked me to make those videos specifically for that, this video they did not.
Pro tip of Xbox one Ik this because that my system if your a medic you can press RB and it will throw a medical pack to who ever is in need of Heath which is really helpful in getting those player across a hallway or street you can simply throw a medical pack across the map the help your team ! Try it
I tip I used in the beta and still today, when you're sniping in houses with wooden doors or windshields, shoot a hole in one of the corners, it's great for sniping because from your view, it's wide open, but from an enemies view, you're almost impossible to hit, also give some distance from the door and youre almost impossible to see
Pro Tip: When near an area of the map that is typically favored by other players such as a flag or narrow pathway do not sprint although it is tempting to get where you want to as quickly as possible it does increase the time it takes to aim substantially if you just walk you will have an extra second or two to shoot at an enemy that comes around a corner giving you the edge in the gunfight. Also be sure when walking through a door or around a wall to check your corners or you run the risk of being shot in the back.
Pro Tip: The Shield on the backside of the Ligthtank has an modfier so you take less dmg than you get hit, so always drive backwards. Makes the Ligthtank even stonger;)
Use the anti tank rifle to blow up buildings for some nice anti camper and anti sniper kills, or at least just get them out of their hiding spots, and use gas grenades to disable the accuracy of scouts on close quarters maps
A pro tip is to change the settings of the minimap. So it gets a bit bigger and zoomed out, so you actually can use it. Options then gameplay settings, scroll down to HUD. My settings, on foot zoom 160, vehicle zoom 200 and flight zoom 400. Ur welcome. ;)
hey westie can you maybe do a short vid about the best magification for various wep. for example i was having no luck with the mondragon storm at 2x mag but when i switched to 1.25 its heeps better. also can you weigh in to directional recoil?
You should have said the grenade tip. if a grenade is coming at you and you have no where to go , go prone because you will survive with about 5-10 percent health.
Protip: Play your class correctly. As Assault it is your job to take out vehicles, as a Medic it is your job to revive and heal teammates and as Support GIVE AMMO FOR F*CK SAKE!!!
I don't see why people skip revives all it does it make you wait in the loading screen for like years and by the time that happens your team could have revived you Pro Tip: Don't try take groups on unless you know your gonna succeed, a good way to take a group out is run back and pick one off as the idiotic players chase you thinking it's TDM lol Pro Tip: STOP GOING FOR KILLS AND CAP THE OBJECTIVES in conquest, 9 times out of 10 players will think the kills will help them level up fast, actually no you get more points for capping and playing the objective so I'd suggest going for kills when they come for your flags or your tryna cap them Pro Tip 3: Scouts get good and stop camping on rooftops and hilltops it's annoying how teams loose because most of players are camping and not helping their team so they loose them they wonder why they lost Pro Tip 4: Use Gas or Grenades to breach into flooded rooms, if you want a room where there is like 4 or 5 guys rather than knifing them take them all out with a Nade or flush them with your Gas/Flash Bangs it really does help Pro Tip: Stop Knifing when you have 5 enemies plus in front of you, You wanna stay alive? Use your Guns that's what they are there for Pro Tip 5: Bayonet charging will allow you to escape but then your stood there thinking I can't run, but it's a good idea to do if there is cover you can get too Pro Tip 4.20: blaze it Pro Tip 69: you know what to do ;) Pro Tip 666: T-bag after you give them your Shovel or whatever in there assholes to show them you are indeed a c**t Pro Tip 360: Shit Bucket No Sex, remember battlefield is your pussy, Fuck SHIT UP!!!!!!!
Don't forget even your normal guns do damage to planes, given that they're close enough and you actually hit them. You can easily do 15-20 damage to a plane flying over you if you have a normal 30 round gun. And to the snipers, use your K bullets on armored vehicles or planes. Lots of damage and easy kills/points if other snipers are doing it too!
I have another Pro Tip: When someone is camping in a house or on a roof you can thow a limpet charge inside, or shoot at a AT Mine to blow up the WHOLE building (and it doesn't even matter if you place it on the 1st or 2nd floor). ;)
Tip: Use the spot button at one of your own medics if you need health. If your need ammo, you can also it on support players. A flashing, blacks bubble will appear over your head. Also, medics and support players - be aware of that!
Slide when cornering, it makes you a smaller and faster target, but you can still shoot. put the gas mask on before throwing the gas if you are going to rush towards the gas, you will save some time and you will may catch the enemy putting their gas mask or retreating. limpy charge can be used to do some damage on enemies that are chasing you and can be used to take down buildings. in amiens, you can destroy some higher buildings rooftops with mortars, allowing you to kill shooters in-door behind your cover.
If you are support, support your team with ammo! Dozens of times I had press I need ammo like 20 times before the player got it and gave me some ammo. And sometimes even that doesnt work , you literally have to jump around them and smack them so they finally realize
Pro tip: when sniping do not look directly at your enemy especially other snipers when aiming down your scope. This will help reduce your scope glare from them spotting you and give you the edge to get the drop on them till they are looking the other way or give you time to line up the shot for those long range bullet drops. I did this on previous bf games and always worked and as of now seems to be working on this one too. I probably screwed myself giving this out but helps those who love sniping haha
Pro tip when using sub machine guns and machine guns the recoil setting is actually very useful, for instance if you are sprinting and a player is of in the distance set the recoil to left so you don't have to aim for them the recoil will give you more shots, another one is get used to or find a good scope setting for snipers it will help you and it will also let you unlock the class rank 10 weapons a lot faster
The revive icon will blink if the player that is down is holding down the spacebar. Prevents medics from risking their lives for a revive if they see a downed player skipping a revive.
Hey westie, learnt a couple of things from that video thanks, it would be great to see you do a war stories video once a week, I subscribed to THE GREAT WAR channel over a year ago and it's fantastic but lacking the individual touch, it would be cool if you could tell us more about the actual men and women who fought. I know that that is quite a time consuming ask but it will add a lot more depth to a great game especially if it's a short series and each video concentrates on stories from each map in BF1. All the best mate, and I'll catch you. . . . In the next video.
The battlefield gamer Koren675 holy shit yes. I hear people complaining that people when they die just immediately hold the button and go back to the respawn menu. but this is because Medix literally walk right over top of your body and do not bother to revive you.
A really, REALLY useful mechanic for reviving teammates while being fired upon is to pull out a sliding revive. The sliding mechanic is being featured in many videos for cool takedowns, such as sliding collateral kills (XfactorGaming), or sliding hipfire kills (JackFrags), but none have ever mentioned a sliding revive before. Which is really helpful, not only for throwing people off their lead while attempting a revive while fired upon, but also to keep you alive and on the move while actually pulling out the revives.
i really wana be good at this game im terrible this my 1st time with battlefield as iv had enough of wall running hopefully i get there either way staying away from cod and titanfall
The bayonet does NOT affect recoil but it does affect the time it takes to bring your weapon up out of a sprint. I know what it says but this is DICE so...
The bayonet DOES NOT negatively effect recoil. It only effects recoil if you set it to left or right. In that case it offsets the recoil but does not make it and more accurate. It is just a preference thing. SprintRecoverTimeMultiplier 0.266 and enabling the charge. You aren't the only one. Many youtubers have accidentally helped spread this misinformation.
Is it true you can snipe people out of tanks with K bullets if you hit the right spot? I've read that it's possible and have been trying it out with no success. I did get a critical hitmarker color(head shot hitmarker) while shooting the heavy tank with the k bullets, and it did a lot more damage than usual but didn't get me a kill.
I have a pro tip for all you battlefield players out there... When you're a medic... FUCKING REVIVE ME, when your a sniper... FUCKING SPOT THE ENEMY, when you're assault... DON'T JUST IGNORE THE FUCKING TANK and finally... if you're support(I know not many of you are)... BUT THROW FUCKING AMMUNITION, and now even more lastly.... if you're a squad, just do us all a favour and MARK THE FUCKING OBJECTIVES
Another tip for crossing water. When crossing water you might swim if the water is deep enough, like on Fao Fortress there are many streams and you usually sail through them which delays shooting if you see an enemy. Instead when crossing look up while running and you will just run across.
Here's a pro tip which you already said. SPOT PLAYERS! I don't know how many times I've died to players on Argonne Forest because I didn't know where they were. Another tip, don't use a bayonet on Assault weapons. Sure it's good to have another way to attack, but you'll have nearly no chance at medium to long range.
dive bombing with the attack plane is the only way to go, plus you really don't have to aim down the bomb sights to get hits, the bombs will fall pretty much right where you're aiming at the ground
Nice tips Westie even though I knew most of them lol. I have a tip. Did you know when sprinting you can jump and slide just as you land? Probably a stupid tip but I found it interesting. Could make for some cool techniques. Plus if you know you're definitely going to get melee killed, throw your grenade and by the time the enemy has killed you, he will die from your grenade. XD
Knee slide, where was knee slide it has got to be my favorite new mechanic in battlefield. use it to slide into cover or slide around corners for a cheeky take down. love it. great vid man keep it up
Another pro tip, if you have a squad member with bonus xp going, blow the horse up or however you want to turn it into glue. Lol. Nice little bonus, it's a little mean but it's a digital horse, I am a pet lover so calm down, just saying you get some extra points is all( dynamite and limpet charge" cough cough, so fun " cough cough) lol
Guys... I think i found something in the bf1 campain. In the mission through mud and blood (Breakdown) i saw 4 lights in the sky (not stars)! I just recorded it, but what do i do with the clip? It could be a bug but i dont thinks so.
Not sure if this qualifies but I find the AT mines are really under used, when defending you can plant all 3 by a flag/cap point and they will destroy any vehicle and it's crew instantly. When the land ship is fully loaded with a 6 man crew it's a huge momentum swing for your team. The best part is that they stay where you plant them even if you're killed. They do a nice job on the armored train also.
This might be an obvious tip, but something I see people not doing, is using the bayonet charge against sentry units(at a sensible distance of course). It might be a noob tip or whatever, but my time in game I rarely see it. The only Sentry unit so far that is nearly impossible to do this against is the SMG one. Like people just try to out gun them face to face, but at the current rate of their damage output you are better off charging instead of shooting. To add also try sneaking behind them and charging them, I'm only giving tips to those who feel hopeless when facing a sentry unit 1 on 1, some instances it's a sacrifice but I feel like it's a good one. I'm also aware of gas nades being useful on some units and shooting the back of the flame unit. Plus I'll admit I feel bad ass when I do successful takedowns against sentry units.
Hey Westie! I was thinking how awesome it would be if Dice re-created Seine crossing from BF3 as a paid or free map fo us BFvets? France plays a big role in BF1 so it makes sense too! I imagine it to look similar with the Amiens map but it's gonna give us some nostalgia too! Can we suggest this to Dice?
These are not pro tips; I have seen a guy doing evasive movements by crouching and standing quickly in an very close combat. I don't know the efectiveness of that, but the guy seemed to dodge all bullets. Btw, a plane can be disabled by a single shot of a rifle; planes also have weak spots. Also forgot to mntion that minimap magnification is a must.
One pro tip that will improve your game is changing the size and on foot zoom radius of the mini-map. 1) you get more info from the mini-map 2) you can actually see the people you/teammates spot with flare guns 3) for advanced players even use the mini-map to estimate distance to enemy for better positioning yourself to capitalize on the "sweet-spot" mechanic for bolt action rifles.
Hi Westie, not sure if it's common knowledge or not.. But a tip that I find myself doing a lot, is that it can be a useful tactic to get on a vacant horse, throw down some ammo and health ... Jump back off and refill flares .. It's extremely handy in operation mode :)
pro tip: if u bayonet charge without stabbing an enemy u cannot sprint during the cool down as opposed to if you do stab an enemy you can sprint right during the cool down. ALSO super helpful: if you are using a console controller, you can cancel a charge by clicking the left stick down(toward you) and you will stop the charge short. happy killing.
Pro tip. If you are attacking on operation as an ground solider, grab some dynamite and blow up the enemy AA guns that you can reach. It really helps out decent friendly pilots, which can help out alot to move up on objectives. great video btw Westie :)
