This looks like all the other new demos to me. I see zero grittiness, but I will say I miss it. People grow and change so I can respect that but I liked the old style more.
@@ryanhursh6322 he used to have a bunch of old video equipment he explained on the website. Sometimes it's not feasible to use and maintain that equipment a decade+ later. Finding interesting new material for video clip samples to use in a demo is hard... try watching long movies or TV shows, documentaries, etc.. takes a lot of time to maybe find one interesting 3sec video sample to use in a demo. Makes you appreciate how much time and effort goes into them
@@broklee Yeah that's fair. I don't question the difficulty in the slightest, I just preferred the old aesthetic. It's ok... he's been there, done it and moved on... Things change.

haven't watched this channel in years, and always enjoyed it, how I remembered to watch it? Simple I remembered one thing. It isn't what synth can do for a man but what a man can do with a synthesizer.
Just started listening and really like the sounds and tones you are getting out the Take5. I know in your review you say it has limitations but once again you make it sound terrific.
Hi! So I was reading your review and rating of the Take5. Great stuff. I recall you were not happy with the absence of an editor/librarian. There’s one from “sound tower”. They have a RU-vid channel as well. I have no affiliation. But lately after playing a Take 5 in person, and checking out your videos, I really feel the call of this instrument.
Well done again. These sounds are fantastic. I had pretty much written this synth off from the beginning. Now I'm definitely interested. You seem to be getting some good high frequency content out of it, even though it's got a darker/duller done than other sequential synths. Maybe that's coming from the FX. In any case, excellent patches.
Best presets from 4 packs that I have (Ultimate 333, Nicolas Semrad, Luke Neptune) ! I mean, others not even close to this in textures and mood, next level stuff!
But not very mix friendly ( most of patches have very big pich wobble, so I really struggle now to add some sounds to my track) They are so wobbly almost out of key , so be aware about that, I spend only few hours, but for now really struggling to make it work in beat with my guitar and other instruments

Sounds lovely. I've been playing with my MEK recently and really digging in again..ots so fun..id love anotjer poly though. The virus TI still does almost everything,.. I wish this take 5 had some digital oscs wave shapesas well like evolver....
Great sounds here & I'm thinking about getting the pack for my Take 5. What I don't understand though is your menu structure - with A and X. Do they replace factory and user presets? And can I choose which of your patches I want to import and which to keep from the existing ones (both factory and user)? Since I only have 256 slots in total with firmware 2.0 right? Thanks for a brief reply!
Thanks! Let me quote what Sequential says about the V 2.0 firmware: "this update includes an additional 128 Preset and 128 User memory locations, doubling the previous sound bank size." So this is one thing. The other thing is that unless you are knowledgeable about sysex editing, or unless you have a third-party librarian / preset organizer, you won't be able to select just single presets. You can only import the entire library at once (as "user"). Don't pay attention to the A & X in my video - these are just my names that you can change;)
Ok, thanks for the quick reply 👍🏼 So from what I gather from your 3 videos here, your 200 patches go into the banks 1-8, using both the factory and user slots, while banks 9-16 remain untouched?
Would you ever consider giving the Uno Synth Pro a try? Despite the goofiness of IK Multimedia's license transfer, patch library software etc, I think you might really like it given the quality of sound and the wide range of modulation!
Something I have noticed is the amount of noise (high hiss) that comes from the outputs of the Take 5, even with the volume zero'd out. Sounds like USB noise but is there even without a USB cable. Like you explained, I have my ENV2 amount on my patches very low (under 50%) and also very low mixer settings. I find the T5 sounds better this way, too! But I have to crank up the preamps on my sound card, so the hiss is even louder. I don't know if this is a faulty Take 5 unit? Do you notice this at your patches as well?
I'm not sure, I never compare the noise ration on my synths;) But yeah, the lower your vca, the more hiss is going to creep in from the outside (mixer, card, etc).
It’s a no brained #1 choice for beginner & pro. This thing is a better sounding, analog vco dual osc version of the prophet 12. You can’t get this sound design versatility plus this raw beautiful timbre anywhere else, let alone for that kind of price. It’s really not even a question, there is no alternative
