Rebekah nearly tore her throat out for a necklace, why should Elena trust her? What she did was smart lol. I don't justify Elena's flaws, just saying, other characters were no better. The only difference is that Elena is always being called out when she's wrong, in the show by other characters, and in the fandom. Caroline, Damon and Stefan are barley blamed as much as Elena is. Exactly. I know it's not right to compare the pain. But Carp didn't suffer as half as Elena did. Klaus killed Elena's family and killed her. Damon saved Caroline and saved her boyfriend in season 2 from Klaus, so he actually deserved forgiveness. Caroline blamed Elena for loving Damon while she was making friends with Klaus. It's okay that she hated Damon, but she didn't have to bash Elena and be hypocritical about it lol.

They saved her because they loved her. But she saved them too. Remember when she risked her life to save Stefan from the tomb vampires? Or saved Caroline with fighting Alaric in season 3? Remember when she cut her own throat to buy Klaus time to save him from Alaric? Remember when she saved Caroline from Damon in season 2? She is also a survivor and very strong. She died twice to save her friends. I agree that Bonnie is also a survivor and she's the stronger because of her powers and selflessness, I also agree that Katherine is a survivor but are you saying she is stronger than Elena? Because Katherine started killing and hurting innocents after she suffered, unlike Elena who never blamed anyone for her drama. And you say Caroline Forbes is a survivor, but from what exactly? She didn't suffer as half as other characters did. She always blamed someone for her problems and her development was mostly around boys choosing her first. Hell, she doesn't even have that much fight scene. She survived Damon because Stefan, Elena and Bonnie saved her. People were always there for her but she was never there for them. When was she when Elena went to the prison world to save Bonnie? Where was she when Bonnie tried to kill Klaus after he killed Elena and her aunt? Oh yes, the first time she was with her precious Stefan and the second time she was with Matt and Tyler.

I'm just saying, while Elena was losing people from episode 1 and trying to heal as a person, Caroline was the one who called her parents death a blah face. Elena turned her emotions off after she lost her last family member, and because Damon told her so, she had no choice, but Caroline perfect Forbes in season 6 victim blamed her and decided to flip the switch even though she knew how it ended up with her other friends. Even so, Elena told Stefan:"Her mother died." Never blamed her for it, that's why I'm saying that Caroline is WAY more whiny than Elena. Honestly, I think you haven't watched the show correctly. Caroline keeps blaming Elena, Stefan and even Bonnie sometimes, for what "Damon" did to her. Elena never blames Caroline and Stefan for being friends with Klaus, who killed her and her family. When did she blamed Stefan or Damon for her trauma? In season 4 the reason she wanted to kill herself was because she thought she isn't good enough for Stefan anymore and things will be better without her. Elena in season 2 sacrifices herself because she thinks all bad things that happen is because of her existence. She is a human, what do you expect of her when she watches Damon and Stefan kill innocent people? Of course she blames them! She should! In season 4 she never says Stefan is "treating" her like a broken toy. She says: "He sees me as a broken toy." And I think she had a right to do that, since he was forcing her brother to be a hunter behind her back. "She can't be this person Damon." Stefan says, what do you have to say about that? I love Stelena, but in season 3, Stefan nearly killed her for revenge. In season 4, Elena slept with his brother. They were BOTH toxic for each other. Maybe you should stop blaming only Elena. Also, I actually see Elena's manipulative side. That's why I like her. She definitely is not perfect. But selfish? I think her sacrificing herself twice, stabbing herself and cutting her throat for her Salvatores proves that. Yes she does have selfish, moments, just like many other characters. Overall, she is selfless. I understand that Caroline has a great development, she is a great character. I used to love her before. But not "everyone" thinks so. To me, Caroline is more like a self insert character. The girl with no important background or history, nothing interesting about family, tries to prove she is perfect and everyone are drawn to her. She is never hold responsible for anything, because she never has to choose, choose between doing something good or bad, yet she has more screen time than Bonnie, a character who is way more important than her. "And every Elena fan is insecure with her popularity." Personally I grow tired of the popular characters, like Caroline or Damon. That's why I like Elena more, because she is hated. It's boring to like a character just because she is likable for her fandom or being a love interest lol. And yes I do think having fight scenes makes a character more important than the other one. Because their actions actually affect something.

And no matter what you say Caroline didn't have that much fight scene or self sacrificing as much as Bonnie and Elena did. Elena saved Caroline twice, once from Damon and than from Alaric. In season 4, Elena lets Klaus's hybrids torture her instead torturing Caroline. What did Caroline do for her friends, for Elena? Where was she when Stefan was gone with Klaus to kill people and Elena tried to get him back, even though her own life was in danger? Oh yeah. She was making her a birthday party. Caroline is the best friend ever! And I don't even how to talk about how much perfect Bonnie is, and the way it's Caroline who steals the scene Bonnie should have had with her mom and the boy she liked (James I think?) In season 3. That Joseph wanted Bonnie as Klaus's love interest, but Julie couldn't handle Bonnie being a more popular girl.
