I think sometimes people forget how much Elena has went through because she holds it together. She is so underrated. Everybody says she is whiny and annoying and Katherine is so much better, that the only reason that Katherine is so mean is because she lost her entire family but so did Elena and she still remains kind.

Elena was an underrated character. I don’t get why people said she was whinny and annoying and a cry baby like she would cry and be in pain because of all she went through and yes she would have break downs but at the end she always got back up. Imagine losing almost everyone you love having no parents living with you. I felt really sorry for her. Elena still stayed kind til the end :) I really like Elena and I also like Katherine. Nina Dobrev did a good job at portraying them :)

this is such a good video bc it shows that people forget she is so strong and she cries all the time as people say cuz bad stuff happens, aka breakups, fam and friends being in danger, klaus, etc. she is not weak for breaking down, she is strong bc she gets back up afterwards. i actually love elena as a character and nina dobrev did a fantastic job portraying her.

Shes gone through so much she deserved so much better :( She lost EVERYONE her father , her mother , her brother , her boyfriends, her biological parents , her friends , her aunt , her humanity and she found out that she had doppelganger ( Katherine , Amara and Tatia) she found out she was adopted and that her boyfriend is a vampire

I love her. She was just a girl when terrible things started to happening to her. And she was breaking up with Matt - break ups are already hard enough in the real life. Then loving a vampire, living in a constant stress and danger, losing everything and everyone, it'd hard. But she still stayed caring, loving person. I'm upset that she is overhated. Some people don't understand that Elena didn't make everything about herself. It's just happened she's the main character of the show (female; if someone thinks that main is stefan). She was only human and still fought. I understand that someone can dislike her. I don't like how the writers wrote her transformation into vampire with sire bond and after that it felt to me that her character existed for Damon. She started losing her caring personality. But I still love her as a whole character or as a concept of the character (what I don't like in last season I can headcanon).

Everyone always thinks that Elena is such a cry baby, but she has gone through so much!😢 Her parents died, her adoptive parents died, her aunt died , her father figure (Rick) died, her brother died (multiple times), her uncle died, her boyfriend(Stefan) turned off his humanity (so many times), she had to choose between her 2 loves, Damon turned off his humanity (many times), Damon and her best friend died for months, she lost her memories of Damon, she died for a really long time and she thought she would never see Bonnie again, and then Stefan died. 🥺 She had a sucky life

So many people say Elena is annoying and she cries to much, like uhm yeah of course she is going to cry, of course she is going to be in pain. I get a lot of the characters went through things too but that doesn't mean Elena can't cry and show how badly she hurts. It's natural to feel pain and have breakdowns after losing people you love. Therefore she really isn't annoying. She's just human... Until of course she turns into a vampire but yeah still.

I know people don't like Elena that much but she has taught us things that we didn't we needed to like not to take family for granted

elena dealt with her feelings in the most healthy way out of everyone in the show. bonnie pushed hers aside because no one would care (except a select few), damon would drink or eat his way through people to avoid thinking about it, stefan would destroy every good thing he had, caroline would avoid it until she couldn’t anymore, katherine literally forced herself to pretend she didn’t care so she could survive klaus, jeremy turned to drugs and alcohol. they all had pretty shit coping mechanisms but y’all are saying elena was the whiny annoying bitch because she... let herself feel her pain and grief? idk make it make sense.
