@@davelordy Hi! You have three options: [1.2.6] or [1.2.7] or [1.3.9 and above] for best results. So, in other words, 1.2.6 is the absolute minimum you must have. But I'm sure the patches will sound a bit different on different firmware versions because Behringer is constantly changing something with each next firmware release. I hope they cool down and make the final version soon;)
@@davelordy update: version 1.41 is supposed to be the best version up to date, basically any version from 1.39 upwards should "convert" any previous patches to sound the same

Everything sounds glorious, but that mangled minicover of Boards of Canada's Olson at 9:01 gave me the chills. Looks like Jexus feels at home with this synth, since the disturbing video mish-mashes have also returned in all their glory. This is the very essence of why I keep coming back to him, the harrowing sounds + images for which he has no equal
For a simple analogue subtractive synth it sounds fantastic atleast a 6 or a 7 out of 10 if you take everything into account it has a nice vintage vibe to it definitely.
crazy how the og jexus posts a pro 800 video the day i order one! can't wait to get my hands on this beast, capable of so many good sounds for such a seemingly simple synth it's crazy. i think this one is gonna be a future classic
1:06 That threw me a bit and made me snort with laughter. I get synesthesia sometimes and that sound gave me a strong smell of boiled cabbage and turnip lol. Pimple On Your Tongue and Smells Like Glottis are two of the greatest patch names ever.

In your writeup you raised the issue of the loose screw. I have to say, all three Behringer products I've had, have had serious problems. I think for the price, I accepted the issues; and they've served their purpose well - though I got rid of the Boog and would happily replace the UMC1820, which now just serves as second ADAT interface for my cheaper digital synths. But, the Model D I had came with seriously badly calibrated tuning scaling, so I had to do the whole calibration dance myself. The Behringer UMC1820M has very poor matching of the volumes of the left and right headhphone channel, as well as very quickly developing a noisy pot at lower volumes. And the Behringer TD-3 arrived with something plastic rattling around inside the case like a fisher price plastic maracas. I'm not convinced it's tuning is quite right either, but I use it mainly as a cheap 303-style filter for my eurorack; because my case is out of space. And I know if I buy another 6u case, OCD would compel me to fill it with 303 eur modules. And that would cost me a lot more than one TD-3, or 3 TD-3s, or even 33 TD-3s.
Have a take 5, but given the voice count of that, and the price of this, I'd be tempted to get it, even just for the bass sounds alone, which sound really nice and can stack up to be huge sounding. buttery + rubbery + = brurbbery?
For the price of this thing, if you got it and put it on chord or pad duty in the background (or bass like you said), the T5 can take center stage and do some crazy modulated lead sounds or something. Not to encourage the GAS in others ;)
Yes pretty much this. I was thinking of getting a Behringer TD-3-MO, or their Pro One/Octave Cat/K2, but for £100 more, a Pro-800 would be more flexible. Would also free up my Moog Grandmother from basic bass duty to do funkier semi-modular things.

I like the naming. Very creative )) What's the movie about "Mutant Tse-tse"? Is it a parody on "The Fly"? I have a dilemma... To buy or not to buy? )) I have DeepMind 12d which I barely use (but I like the sound and features in general) and I want to have Pro-800 as well. But I don't like that it doesn't have any panning options, no multitimbrality and no effects (the less of these complaints). I fear that I will buy it, try few times and put in a box for a long time (like my Neutron and Model D). Do I have GAS or not? Should I buy it anyway? It's not my last money, not saved for something more important. Pro-800 will become more expensive locally next year I'm almost sure. Also it's not clear that it will be possible to buy at all (because of politics and etc.).
@@Jexus they write "14 days" and it's the best case. For me it's not enough... Also I know myself and most probably I'll leave it )) My "blue dream" is that Jean Marcel will return to his father's business and continue making great synths. MFB Synth Pro could then be re-thought to become more powerful with full multitimbral support. I doubt that Behringer will make anything close to this machine in nearest 10 years. Uli is focused on old machines recreation. It's good IMHO but also a kind of limited.
