Excellent work, love the X305 - Gatekeepers ❤. After all this time I will never understand why synth companies never involved you in their projects years ago. One good example is Waldorf. The patches and videos you made for the Blofeld made that synth, Waldorf didn't. Just think how many of us bought gear after watching your videos and continue to do so. Cheers Jexus and thank you 🍻
@@Jexus I thought so :) I read all your reviews and usually have a very similar opinion. What I would be really interesting to see you try is a Prophet X. It's a hugely underrated gem. Or even a Prophet 12 which in my opinion is a predecessor to the X and less interesting but still incredible.
Really looking forward to buying your pack this weekend. So many great sounds. The Take 5 really is one of the best modern synths for late 70s, early 80s vibes. I use it alongside the Moog Grandmother and find them to be my dream combo.
I was in a synth shop the other day and started playing the take 5. I fell in love with it immediately. It was such a soothing synth. The Keybed was super nice too and I had to admit that I was wrong about this synth. It's amazing.
First 30 sec. Sounds awesome. Reminds me of a low budget 70s movies soundtrack that was a print of a print, played hundreds of times then converted for home video.

Just wanted to say, I downloaded the pack and 10/10. Outstanding, especially with the loud patch update. Much appreciated for sorting that out. There are a handful of patches that basically don’t seem to make any sounds (not talking about the empty ones). Was a bit puzzled, but it wasn’t a big deal as there is SO much in there. I’m going through now and sort of tweaking and making them my own. Seriously, for anyone looking at this pack, it’s a bargain for the volume you get. I have a couple of other sound packs, but yours is the clear winner. Next level programming. Also, just a note that I’m using the SoundTower editor/patch manager and it made it a breeze to organize the patches.
Thank you! But there should not be any patches that don't make any sound. 1. Maybe they have long attack time? // 2. Are you sure that nothing is heard even after you run the sequencer? // 3. Are you sure about your USB / MIDI settings? With wrong buffer settings random patches get lost during the transmission.
@@Jexus Perhaps they got corrupted or something when sending to the T5. I’ll have another look when I get a chance. No big deal either way. It was only maybe two or three. Anyway, I’m 100% satisfied. Thanks.
@@dimensionstomorrowI'd like to get soundtower since my current bank management through midiox is kind of cumbersome, but it just seems like a lot of $$ for something that most manufacturers include with the synth. Did you switch over to soundtower or did you always have it with the take 5?
These are very good and very useful sounds. You obviously understand what synth players want. Too many preset packs are either dystopian alien sounds or weird special effects, which are not useful to synth players. Will purchase once my take 5 gets back from warranty repair (usb stopped working).
Hey, I'm not even in the market for buying a synth rn, and I still always enjoy watching and listening to your videos. =) Any plans of putting together some sort of album, or maybe just a recording or mix of longer jams? I really love being drawn into soundscapes like the ones you and RMR and Ollilaboratories/Burg create.
Wonder if BoC themselves buy yr patches,...if not they should...also anyone making sci docs from the 80's... Damn nice timbres. You really got the sunbaked tapes out of the thing 👍
Thanks, glad u like it! BoC are using a lot of EQ-ing, pitch-stretching on the drums, slow pitch mod and off-key notes to achieve their vibe, so the patches don't matter that much;)
@@Jexus Well I'll just be here waiting with my P5. It's not going anywhere. Sure it doesn't have a mod matrix or wavetables but MAN does it make me feel good to play/hear it. Something about it... Thanks again for all the vids
@@Jexus I guess what I would like to do is get the tone clearer and brighter like a P5, understanding it won't be identical or have the heft of the P5 oscillators. When I had a T5, I could hear that filter's tone underneath the sort of dull muddiness I mentioned, and I'm debating getting a T5 again because of the value, space saving, and mod matrix / screen.
Wow the noise game in this one so strong, so vibey. Ads a lot of vintage flavor to the sound. Did you find out a bit lacklustery with only 5 voices? Sounds good but who much mileage can you get on stage?
Double YES - if you want to have the Lo-Fi effect, then your Take-5 needs to have firmware 2.0 - Plus, if you want to load my patches correctly, you also need firmware 2.0 🙃
If you're talking about my videos, they all showcase sounds from the same sound pack. There is no "both sound packs", there is only one - the Jexus Soundpack:) It's just that I make several videos which are performed in different styles. 🎧
