In my head Serena divorced dull as dishwater Dan & ran off to marry Nate.

So here's the thing. I loved Serena and Dan too. They were adorable in the first seasons but after the storyline with Dan and Blair and how he treated Serena like she is nothing to him just really ruined that for me. I'm also a sucker for this "first love" type of endgame but I really wanted Serena to end up with Nate still. Here's why: He loved her for who she was, Serena could be herself around him, he probably got her like nobody else did and he has always been in love with her even when he was with Blair and if you think about how much feelings for Serena it must have took someone that loyal and genuinely good as Nate to really cheat on his girlfriend, it makes even more sense. Dan was obsessed with her even when he didn't even really know her and he never understood the world she lived in and always blamed her for being a part of this world. Dan might have loved the person Serena always wanted to become but Nate just loved her. Unconditionally. The good sides as well as the bad sides of her. So yeah that's why Serena and Nate will always be endgame for me.

I love gossip girl so much but if Serena and Nate would have ended up together the show would be much better and I have been reading the comments and it seems like everyone thinks the same so they should make a season seven where Serena realizes that Nate is the one and then she divorces with dan and marries Nate

This makes me cry. It breaks my heart how much Nate loved Serena and didn't get that same equal love in return. I love them but damn i love nate more and i know he deserves better but I can see that Nate loved Serena out of everyone and thats why there is nothing i want more than SERENA DIVORCING THE CRAP OUT OF DAN DAMN IF BARNEY AND ROBIN DIVORCED THEN SO CAN THEY I WANT A GG REUNION A SEASON 7 IF POSSIBLE WHERE SERENA REALIZES SHE LOVES THE HELL OUT OF NATE AND MARRIES HIM AND HAVE HIS BABIES OH YES PLEASE DONT FIGHT ME ON THIS THEY BELONG TOGETHER

I've been re-watching GG in anticipation of the reboot, and the more I watch, the more I realise how toxic Dan is from the beginning, and the more I appreciate that Nate was actually a far more interesting character than the writers allowed due to their focus on the toxic merry-go-round that was Serena's relationship with Dan. Nate is: - Interested in the wider world around him - Unselfish and rather wise/self-aware for his age - his interview for the Dartmouth usher spot, he specifically asks them to give the place to someone more deserving, showing humility and earnestness; when Jenny starts to rise up the social ladder, he warns Jenny against getting involved with the girls, to the point where Jenny feels she can trust him to ask for money because she is desperate and in trouble (see below about loyalty) - Compassionate and non-judgmental - when Serena tells the truth about Pete, he tries to protect an emotionally vulnerable Serena from Dan: When Jenny debuts her fashion-line, he challenges her preparedness then supports her decision: When Blair has her downward spiral, he's the one who gets through to her, reminding her who she is - Somewhat naive (he's sixteen when we meet him, so that's excusable!) - Carter Baizen conning him; sleeping with Katherine etc. - but becomes wise from experience - Fiercely loyal - Nate is there for Serena when Blair needs his help to take care of her; and is there for Chuck at the reading of his father's will etc.; and in spite of the drama between them, he helps Blair remember who she is; looks after his mother; goes to Dan when he's concerned about Jenny - Takes initiative and pursues independence - he studied for his SATs independently to ensure his scores were good enough that he could get into a college of his choice without his family's interference, as his own desires don't mesh with their demands for his future All of this combines to paint Nate Archibald as a pretty decent character with a (somewhat flexible) moral code that makes him fun and interesting and puts him in awkward situations that are enjoyable to watch play out, fiercely loyal and smarter than the writers would have us believe. I often wonder if Nate's character would've been given more room to breathe if Dan had been written out early on. I'm not necessarily a Serena fan, but I agree that Serena and Nate were a very good couple - even just as friends, they understood each other, protected each other and were always relaxed around each other, something you want in a real relationship - not constant judgement, shaming and being forced to apologise for your circumstances because your significant other has a chip on their shoulder the size of Manhattan about not having as much. *Sorry for the ridiculously long comment - I have strong feelings about the neglect of Nate's character!

OMG,I was just watching Gossip Girl because I left it around season 1 where Serena chose Dan and I was so angry that they barely had any screen time, everyone was in the wrong couples,especially Nate. I needed to see a Serenate video and I went to my subscription and found this marvelous video,so thank you. Now I am not totally so dissappointed. I know they are not endgame,but I still have hope that somewhere after the show, Serena and Dan would get a divorce and they'll be back together. They have too. Sorry for my rambling,love your video,the ending was so sweet,I wished it was like that in the show.
