I have 2020 Z H2. Its a beast in disguise. Supercharger is addictive. Instant power delivery is addictive. Cruise control, brakes, mirror alignment, quick shifter, weight handling are all so perfectly tuned. It never fails to put a smile on my face every time I ride it. I did ~500 kms in a single day without even realizing it. Its very thirsty but reasonably so. Look is subjective and I like this one. I live in Germany. I use Autobahns (no speed limit). I got my personal top speed of 240 kmph on this bike and it was butter smooth to reach that speed.
I placed an order for the ZH2 SE today after riding my friends ZH2 i fell in love with this machine such an easy bike to ride so smooth and comfortable i just had to get one and here i am today plus i can add this to my H2 Collection as i ride and own a Ninja H2 💚
Kawasaki really did a superb job with this bike! 👍Although supercharged, it gives soft controllable power. I just wish there were a "modern classic" version of this( z900rs turbocharger) as these modern styles look like cartoon characters.
Good one , I got the 20 plate pre se I am totally enamoured with it having had hundreds of bikes it’s just so nice to live with and easy to ride quality and it’s a special bike
Awesome review Mark and I think this would be a fantastic all rounder what a machine, headlights look really stealthy and agreed best colour. Thank for a cracking ride mark, James from Birmingham 😎👌
great timing mark i sat on one of these the other day in a dealership and was amazed that compared to my mt09 it actually felt lighter and the seating position felt so much more involved / connected to the bike if that makes sense. ive arranged a test ride next week. my only concern is that i might actually buy it lol. thanks again mark.
@@markpulling12 If you get a chance to ride the Sym Joyride 300, I highly recommend it. I think it's coming to the UK this year. The flat floor on this model really sets it apart in terms of practicality.
That “chirping” noise is actually little sonic booms, from the Supercharger breaking the sound barrier! Keep meaning to get a demo on one of these, just for giggles…
The "chirping" is simply trapped air coming out from blow off valve and supercharger itself while you release throttle. This is the reason why you listen it while closing the throttle, and not during acceleration or steady high rpm engine. So it's produced from "bouncing" of air outcoming from the compressor impeller, trying to escape outside, and being compressed backward from the impeller, that is still producing pressure (because is chain-linked with main engine shaft, and not driven by exhaust like a normal turbocharger,so it costantly produces pressure)
@@markpulling12 Thanks Mark, I own an H2 SX SE with the same engine,so I faced the "chirping wonder" some months ago :D. The air in supersonic transient is the whistle produced durig acceleration, but in that engine is barely (unfortunately) audible. So when you slam throttle, you hear a little "fiiiiiiiiiiI" from impeller (supersonic air) and a "chirrrrrrrp" (air escaping outside) while you chop.
Nice video as always m8, just a quick note, the calipers on the se are the Stylema type like u get on the Streetfighter V4 and are different to the standard ZH2...
@@markpulling12 excellent 👍🏻 I pretty much watch all your videos anyway, but that one I’ll be looking out for. I expect the infamous walk around to be incredible! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mark another great review. Kawasaki were always my dream bikes as a young lad and I like this one, but it is a bit too heavy for track days and a bit too expensive. Really leaning towards the SuperDuke R instead.
Great video. It certainly isn't the the most competitive neither does it have the best brakes or suspension but man does it make you feel good and put a massive smile on your face. I'll be doing the full review on the Z H2 2021 in the coming weeks, then have some mods to add such as the Scorpion can and Sprint filter (doing videos for those too). Will be an excellent comparison to the nakeds I have already done videos for.
Since it's not competitive and the brakes and suspension fall short (in your mind)--just curious as to what you'd prefer at this price point that checks all those boxes?
@@ronznine7870 Don't get me wrong, it is a great bike. I own one and love it. It just isn't as competitive as the Streetfighter V4S, Superduke R etc. The Z H2 Is almost in a league of its own. I would say try one regardless as everyone should experience it at least once, then try a Superduke and see what you think after.
Hi, I've just bought this exact bike from Bournemouth Kawasaki and could not be happier with their service. Would definitely buy from them again. Highly recommended 👌
Some of the H2 models, mine a 2022 being one of them. Push oil up though the crank case vent tube into the intake runner upstream of the supercharger. Given my aggressive riding style after 400 miles I have oil dripping out of the intake runner onto the floor. Kawasaki will not acknowledge the problem so they have no fix for the problem. My ZH2 is at the Kawasaki dealer were they are clueless as to the source of the problem. Tearing into my engine blindly. My advise, the bike is a rocket and despite being over 500 lbs. you can still run it though the corners fast enough you will wear your tires from edge to edge. Hold off on purchasing an H2 until Kawasaki has a fix for the problem.
Excellent review, thorough, speedo clear (perhaps pixilate the speedo at times). As with the Honda CB1000R the power is probably too much for daily road use
Agree regarding the power. If interested in motorcycles, cars and travelling, go and check my content. You may like it. :) Thanks for taking your time.
Great review Mark I test rode the Z H2 and loved it, it is an animal I then test rode the Tuono and ended up buying the 2021 model It is purely a preference which you choose They are all sublime Keep at it Sir 😎
@@markpulling12 They appear to. I'd quite like a KLX 300SM to run around on, but despite the fact they are made in Thailand, none are available here. Maybe it's due to Covid and they will be later.
As ever, a great review. You have the gift of making the viewer feel as if he/she is riding the bike. Super nakeds have never been my thing but now you've got me thinking! Really liked the sound of the supercharger. Might be a stupid question but what was the wind protection like? ATVB.
Hi Gary it's ok ...if anything nakeds give a smooth wind blast whereas some faired bikes can be turbulent ...so all in all quite acceptable cheers mark
Great video man thanks for sharing, that’s the bike I’m waiting a few months to get, with this pandemic nightmare it’s not making it any easier to get this bike.
If they make that bike in any other colors I’ll be a huge fan. Never really cared fo lots of green. It’s nice for accents on a black bike but that’s too much green for me.
awesome review as always! you are in my opinion one of THE top youtubers! 1 thing I've noticed is:.. you don't offer any criticism on really any of the bikes I've seen you test. Which is all well and good, however not all the bikes have no flaws. Some personal thoughts on what could've been done or shouldn't have been done. That sort of thing. Keep them coming Bro!!
Hi Mark - Brilliant review as always! Is it really possible for a bike of this power and torque to be your every day bike? Is the torque acceleration smooth or does it reach out to bite with just a bit of throttle? I am asking because I am between this one, the speed triple rs and the tuono v4. I test drove the other 2 and all reviews state how smooth and comfortable they and they are not! I don't know how subjective comfort may be and that Tuono especially is not a comfortable bike. Which one would you go for as an all around performer?
Hi ..yes the power is huge but very controllable on this ...and yes I'd say it's the best road bike here ,I found it very smooth and you sit right into it..the triumph is a close second and you could get a used one at a good price ...you could use the Kawasaki as a ride to work bike but personally I'd get something a bit cheaper and more economical Best wishes mark :)
Nice review on this mark will you be reviewing the z900se soon I think h2 is a bit heavy and too much power for me.I tested the new bmw s1000r again yesterday and come away with a neck ache
Brembos are the Stylema not the M4.32 Also regarding “remap” only 2 tuners have cracked the ecu so not many options yet.. people are getting 210-220hp atw derestricted.. Should crack 250hp with a few mods and fueling tweaks 💪
+mark pulling Can we get a comparison video of the Kawasaki ZH2 and the Yamaha MT-10? I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. Slightly leaning toward the Kawasaki cause of the supercharged engine, but man I also love the crossplane engine.
Great review Mark. Would you say the electronic suspension is much better than standard and worth the extra cost ? I have a 2020 in green and think the standard suspension is pretty good. Not tried the other model yet. Keep up the great real world reviews.
Hi Mike yes I rode the standard suspension model aswell and it's very good .. but I'd say the electronic suspension is better but not worth the extra to change in your case Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Thanks Mark , that was what i was hoping to hear. I kept my standard exhaust as i don't want the awesome sounds from the engine to be drowned out.
Should I swap my 2019 ZX6R for one of these? Looking for something more comfortable, but not sure this makes any sense. Lots of power and comfy but no wind protection - what's the point?
Hi ...yes it's definitely more powerful . !! ..I had the same 636 as you ...but this is alot more comfortable try and get a demo if you can even just to tick the box ☑️ Cheers mark
Hi Mark, i dont know how much test riding you did on this bike but just curious to know what range you got out of the tank. Looking at getting one of these and see many mixed reviews between 20mpg to 35mpg.
Hi I think to get less than 40 mpg you would have to be going pretty quick ! I think from memory I put a gallon of fuel in for my steady ride and it easily did me over 40 miles on that ...a 19 l fuel tank should give you about 150 miles range Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Mark thanks for the feedback. I know on a bike like this it would be easy to be very "throttle happy" however if i can get 40mpg with steady riding and the odd blip of acceleration i will take that. You cant expect high efficiency on a performance bike. Keep the videos coming. All the best. 👍
Hi Chris money no object I'd definitely get the Kawasaki ...it's engine is incredible with the supercharger very impressive, and it's smooth and comfortable but the mt10 is very good still and cheaper Cheers mark
Hi Colin power wise about the same not bad considering 1000 vs 1400 but top speed of the naked supercharged is about 165 mph ...the zzr is limited to about 186 mph ....both are rocket ships !! Cheers mark
Hi yes it is more exciting than a z1000r but only if you fully open it up on a daily basis the z1000 is more than enough power and alot cheaper Cheers mark
I don't understand why is a flat torque desirable? My v65 has a wicked curve. The faster it flys the harder it pulls all the way to 120 hp. It Really never surrenders....js
@@BarnettSpeedSuzukiThou hi Richard it just automatically adjusts damping to the road conditions...the ride quality was impeccable so it's obviously doing it's thing .. but I remember the base model to have good suspension too ....so I guess it's down to choice of the potential buyer cheers mark
The bike will suit you fine. I've testridden it and there is no problem. Very comfy. If you like you could install the higher seat....The gest ride convinced me: I bought one...lol
At the risk of sounding like a pedant, the 's' in Kawasaki is pronounced as an 's' and not a 'z'. And Kawasaki should rhyme with waccy baccy. 😏 Mental bike. I really like the looks. As someone that has only just got their licence and has no money, I'm not even window shopping. 🚴🏽
Here are my views on the ZH2, I have owned one for 5 months, yes an incredible engine and beautiful frame, BUT totally imbalanced, kawasaki left the steering damper out to make it cheaper, handle bars are all over the place when you put full power down, they made the wheelbase so short so it corners great but as a result if you put full power down it will pull the front up in the first four gears, in 5th and 6th on full power above 150mph + the front tyre is bouncing on the ground because the engine has 'That much Pull', this is Not a track bike why make it so short. In my opinion it is imbalanced BUT I have accepted them and look forward to riding it all the time. Impossible to describe the performance you just have to ride one.
I have put a steering damper on mine certainly helps a lot, I absolutely love my zh2 SE I honestly can’t see me swapping it for anything else, because I’m sure I would be disappointed lol Only thing other bikes have better for the road is looks I never track so any other bike would be a waste for me
Great Review as always, but what a ugly bike, exhaust looks cheap front end looks naff, sorry don't like it, won't be on my wish list. 100% performance, Zero looks...H2 sx much better looking bike, as is the Z1000SX.
