Yes, I think its been this way for a long time and still is. I have a couple of BMW's and they are also excellent in terms of performance and reliability.
I would say Chinese yes Chinese bikes will be good enough to compete with other brands sooner than later. It sounds funny now but remember this in next 10 years
Bought the 2021 model a month ago. It was hard as hell to get up here in the New York tri-state area due to the supply chain issues going on. A good part of my decision to finally pull the trigger on this model was your video review. Thanks for all the great reviews and honest opinions. I've had over 20 bikes in the past 30 years and this is one of the most fun bikes I've ever owned.
I absolutely LOVE this engine, my 2021 Tenere has convinced me this is one of the Greatest engines ever stuffed into a motorcycle frame! I’ve been riding for over 50 years and have ridden everything and this engine is THE SHIT!
I've wanted a MT-07 a few years now.....paid both of my houses off a few months ago..... so i went Friday April 15th 2022 & put a 500.xx deposit down on a new 2022......i just LOVE the Dark Blue ps. the dealer said it MIGHT be in by July or August....
I planned to get a cbr650r because it looks really good in my opinion and the 4 inline sounds absolutely great but hearing the rumble from an MT 07 with an Akrapovic titanium exhaust is truly something else.
This is a fabulous review. Most other reviewers insist on showing that they can lift the front wheel into the air. This review was real-world stuff (at least, MY real world). Thank you.
Saving up for a bike, and tossing options around.. Originally I was dead set on an SV650, then I opened up to the idea of a Z650 (the new Z650RS looks FANTASTIC!!) but also the Interceptor650 which looks like a lot of bike for less cash. I've come round to the MT-07 lately; that engine is a peach! Still unsure what I'll do and/or what will happen, but those are the bikes and engines I'm focused around. Watching a lot of your vids, Mark!
@@marcone007 importer in Poland said aprox 2-3 weeks (I've ordered storm fluo). I heard that for blue colour you would have to wait till the end of june.
@@vengenSR oh so the myths are actually real that the blue one is hard to get (Romania) such a shame that on a new bike you have to choose delivery date vs colour :D
@@marcone007 actually storm fluo was my first choice :) Black is boring, blue very common for yamaha. Besides I hope that thanks to those fluo rims I will be more visible on the Road 😁
Great bike, I've in the past had a BMW 1100GS then went down to a GSX250R, and then last Thursday I traded it in for one of these, and WOW what a bike very very impressive. Love it to bits. :)
My first "Brand New" bike was an MT 07 back when they first came out. Instantly impressive and with a class leading engine. Probably still so, though the cross plane crank now seems to be fitted to just about every twin (absolutely not a complaint). They were/are cheap too but built down to a price with suspect paintwork causing bikes to go rusty very quickly. Main gripe though was (and perhaps still is) the suspension if pushed hard, (and with an engine like that, I suspect it's going to be pushed hard). Maybe a bit long in the tooth now, especially compared to the new kid on the block Triumph Trident so not entirely convinced that a new headlight and air scoops are enough. Personally I think they should have spent the money on the front forks instead so that you could fully exploit that superb engine. Popping wheelies is great but not making it round corners, not so good. Took me a minute to work out where you were but when you pulled up on the Cranborne Rd I sussed it as my friend used to live in one of the cottages opposite the junction. Can't honestly say I recognised every road though. Glad to see you didn't attempt the green lane next to Heavy Horse though. Good work, as usual, keep em' coming.
Really great review mark helped me decide to get my mto7 2022 blue as my first bike and I love it I’ve put a few extras on tail tidy, rear and front bobbins ,radiator guard, engine protection and it’s beautiful
Just bought one of these in Cyan Storm for when I pass my test (hopefully in the next month or so), can't wait to pick it up! Great review as always Mark 😀
Really enjoyed your review mark 👍, great little bike and I love the colour and the styling. Great sound 👌 from the exhaust too. Cheers Mark and ride safe 👍.
Great review Mark, has made me go ahead and buy one!! Can’t wait until the end of the month to pick it up!!😀same colour as you reviewed, think out of the 3 colours this look the best! Carry on with the reviews mate!!👍🏻🏍
Thanks mate for the great video. After 30 years back on wheels again. Had planned purchasing a Trident 660, but this week signed a new MT-07. After looking this video decided the icon blue is my Color. Thanks again!
I had a -16 mode. Did 20 000km that season. Bulletproof engine. Surfaces are not that protected. Easy to scratch. (Which were the case on the Honda CB650R I had aswell.) One thing that annoyed me was all the cuts when washing and cleaning the bike. There are pointy bits all over the bike! I gave it the DNA airfilter and a Mivv full system. Nice!
Thank you for your review. I ride a 2007 Kawasaki 650R Ninja. I've been thinking of trading for a 2021 Yamaha MT-07. Where I live I cannot get a test ride however and I'm leery of making the trade because of that. The 650R has been a great bike and really shines on the highway.
Been riding MotoX and mopeds all my life, and previous bike was a -08 CBR600RR. A bit too much for street use so this MT07 might be just right for my next one!
Another great review from you, and I think it looks stunning. It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on how this compares to the new Triumph Trident.
There is no comparing the 2,the fit and finish on a Triumph is far superior to yamaha. The suspension,brakes,... it's a that bit better on a Triumph and that makes for a much nicer machine.
@@punkrockdidi nahh id take the mt07 all day way more reliable. Mt07 keeps its value and its just an all round monster with an awesome crossplane crank that make the bike sound amazing.
@@jammycjj it absolutely sounds amazing,I had a Shark full system on my MT07 and it sounded BRUTAL (not too loud). But a Triumph keeps it's value way better than a Yamaha if I take a look at second hand website's,which I do practically every day 😅 don't get me wrong the yamaha is a great bike but I just like my bike a bit nicer and well put together 😉
Completely unrelated: the say goes “Jack of all trades, master of none”. It has a negative connotation. Most of us use only the first bit, with a positive connotation.
Mark Great Review as always, back to bikes after a 30year gap, my son just bought a 125cc and I have got the bug again. Don't know what to go for out of the MT07, Z650, Ninja 650 or the CBR650R All your reviews were good.
Wanted a monster 659 Lams. Was Looking at the Harley 500 and triumph 660 when A MT-07 rode past with the akrap open exhaust, I followed it and bought it today. 2020 demo model as I loved the colour scheme and the sound 😱 magnificent.
Love it!!! So simple and direct. Perfect for any occasion. I own 2015 with 82 bhp and 53lb torque with Ohlins in the back Ktech up front. City street SLAYER. Out of 20 bikes i have owned this one just chassied so rite for me. Mark as always great review. Kenosha Wis
Mark, Great review video as always. This seems like a great bike, but do you think it's comfortable/suitable (leg room) for larger riders 6 foot & 200 lbs? Or you recommend a larger bike with more power?
Hi yes for sure you could ride this bike but you would be big on it ...I'd recommend the bigger tracer 700 instead ...it's just as much fun ...or the tracer 9 is totaly awesome ;)
It seems a brilliant bike but I think that the Tracer 700, although a bit more expensive, is a better buy because it offers a bit more practicality while still being very light with equally good performance. Would be interested in your opinion. Very good review as usual. Thanks.
Thanks for the review i already planned on getting one for a first bike. But i never realized the stock exhaust is louder than i thought. Doesnt sound bad i figured itd be unbearable until id get an akrapovic. Hoping to get one in all black
Hey Mark.,i am juist 50 now and started back riding 1 Year ago with the Bmw g310r Now I want to upgrade and I doubt between T’his Mt07 or a street triple s not A2 restricted. I Wanna keep this bike for a long time what is your opinion ?Almost the same price here, yamaha cost a little bit less. But than you put Some after market Products on it and than it cost almost the same . Greetings From belgium Erik
The engine is a joy running on in 3 and 4th gears. Very pokey. I really wish they'd do an up-spec version with better suspension and a mode or 2. The engine deserves it - it's fabulous.
What a great review, and such a good bike. Would Crescent let you have it for a while? I would love to see a longer term review from you. Stay safe and have fun.
Went to look at one yesterday and was impressed . Will be ordering after I’ve past my test . Decided to have it lowered as it’s just a bit too high for me . Think it will make a good first bigger bike .
Side note..Fork problem: Get correct spring rate for weight of rider with gear, Ohlins, then cut spacer tube about 19mm or 3/4" re fill with 20 weight fork oil ohlins prolly best or bell ray. Fork oil fill needs to be at spec capacity for best results. I foumd a little less made dampning better in the rough.New fork pre load caps. All for 250$ usd fix.Or go all out for 1500$
Hi des I have two tracer reviews already on my channel but I'll be reviewing the new tracer in the next few weeks ...I saw it at crescent a couple of days ago Best regards mark
Thanks for the review! Have you done the Tenere 700? I would be very interested to see your view on the T7 that has the same CP2 engine. You also have my same height and inseam which would give great insight for me to purchase, or not. The T7 is not yet available here.
Hi Martin sorry don't know the exact width ....Two ft ? For daily riding / commuting yes definitely the 07 .....the 09 is in another league of performance !! Regards mark
Hi mark - great videos. Really very informative. Question for you. I’ve just passed my DAS and have shortlisted the following obvious candidates: Trident, CB650r, mt07, SV650. Also thrown in a ballsy wildcard - Tuono! What would you go for? And why? Thanks a million
Hi Jonathan ...lots of great bikes there ! Best value/ terrier fun /reliability/ lots of second hand I'd go for the mt07 ...70 HP 130 ish mph But money no object for Ultimate fun and style tuono 660 ...lots of test rides for you :) Cheers mark
Hi Paul well I would have said the z650 because I like Kawasakis but after riding this new mt07 I'd go for this ... However the triumph trident is right up there aswell ..... decisions :) Best regards mark
its a tough call between the mt07 and the mt09, i wish they put the new aluminum frame on the mt07 as well, but its so much cheaper than the mt09 sp, only problem is that it wouldnt be an mt09 sp:)
Many thanks Indeed. I'm considering trading a Suzuki Bandit 1250 against one in the next couple of weeks. Would love to know what Yamaha optional extras are essential. Does the bike come with indicators as standard another question. Great video and many thanks for any reply.
@@markpulling12 Much appreciated Mark. The reason I asked that particular question. Whilst looking at the Yamaha site you get the chance to configure your choice machine, and led indicators were an optional extra. There a decent enough base price I thought, especially as on the road charges are included. Would you recommend any extras worth getting at the time of purchase. Thanks ever so much.
Great review! I'm 184 cm / 80 kg would it be a god fit for me you think? As a beginner, which bike between the 07 and 09 would be the best choice you think?
