A review on the all new benelli trk 702x Kindly loaned by poole moto www.markpullin... PLEASE LIKE,SHARE AND SUBSCRIBE THANKS :) benelli trk 702 review
Well done Mark, you must one of the first in the UK to review this much anticipated bike. First impressions are very good judging by a very excellent road test. Would be great to see how it compares to the Honda Transalp as I suspect the Benelli would give it a run for the money.
Good honest review Mark, loving my 502 just coming up to 4k no dramas parts have been easy to get hold of via motogb and on line. No rust ridden all weathers, so this one should be better still. 👍 might look into one in a year or so.
I have been considering a BMW F750 / F800. This is nearly half the price but lack of cruise control is an issue for what would be a good tourer. I might need to demo the 702. 👍
@@SnelleJelle_bro who needs a quick shifter on a adventure bike, cruise control kind of yeah but I'd say the only thing this bike needs is tubeless tires THAT'S IT
Great review Mark, this us what ive been waiting for, a Trk with decent power and your review has just confirmed what a great bike for the money it is, im going to definitely put my money down on one 👍👍
Nice bike but shame that by buying one you’d be supporting the Chinese economy and a regime with a poor human rights record. For that alone I won’t be handing them my money.
@@lestersmyth692of course I do, but while there's still a choice I'll buy from somewhere else, like my Moto Guzzi which was and still are built in Italy, unlike the Benelli which they're just using as a brand name.
@@duncanhine898 🤣🤣🤣🤣but you quoted 'human rights' and then casually tossed all of that to one side when asked if you have other stuff made in China? really? ... nothing German (the whole war thing) nothing British (the whole empire thing) No KTM's (the Dutch had links with slavery and their engines are Chinese) ... no phones, no IT (you tapped out your message on something that will have a part made in China for certain) ... get a grip man!
Looks a nice bike Mark and the price still starts with a 6! I've never owned a Chinese built bike but my chief concerns would be around longevity on things like bearings, electrics, nuts and bolts (things you can't always see) and parts availability. Mindful Motorcyclist did a very good piece on Voge depreciation recently. Maybe Benelli is better in that respect? Any way, great video and kudos to you for covering the affordable less "sexy" brands !
Lots of people here in Spain and in Italy are doing very high mileage on the TRK without issues. Prob all worth mentioning the Benelli Chinese parent company also own Polestar cars and Volvo, not sure if they own others. So they have lots of experience on producing quality vehicles
@@tonyb736 I've a Benelli trk 502x 2021 model (bought in June 2021) I've already did 50.000 km (on and off road, high alps pass and no highways) and no significant problems appeared, only normal services. In these 2 years my Trk took me to France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia (I live 100km south to Rome) :p I'm really satisfied by this moto despite its 47hp :)
Thanks for another great review Mark. I live in Costa Blanca in Spain so lots of road riding here. I bought the TRK 502 face lift version 2021 when it was launched based on your review and it’s everything you said it would be. It’s been a great bike, as you say it’s just a tad lacking in power for overtaking when riding at cruising speeds. The X version is far to tall for me so waiting to see what your thoughts are on the road version TRK 702 as there are some differences, suspension is different, more accessible seat height (795mm I believe) the switch gear looks identical to my 502. I will probably go for the 702 but will wait for your review first before I do. Forgot to mention for my riding here in Spain never really found the need for cruise control as very rarely go on motorways.
Looks decent just passed my test again and need to buy a much more sensible bike with all the bells and whistles just not with the price tag might give one a try. Remember don't speed kids its not worth it.
I've been waiting ages for this bike to be released. It's almost perfect as someone else in the comments said, but without cruise control, it misses the Mark (pun intended). Lol The weight is also much better, which was one of my biggest worries, and it looks like the engine is very low in the chassis. The first manufacturer who puts cruise control on a middle-weight adventure touring motorcycle is going to sell a bucket load as long as the bike is good in all other areas. Thanks for bringing this to us, Mark, and all the best. 👍🏿
Wow, heated SEAT? Maybe i'm just not up to date, but i haven't heard of that before. I wish they sold this in Denmark but unfortunately there are no Benelli dealers/importers anymore :( I'm 198cm and 125kg, it's my absolutely dream to have a physically large bikes. But all large bikes are expensive. I had a DL650 which was almost too small and they cost too much new. I want a BMW R1250GS, but i'm not a millionaire. Wish i could get this bike.
Great review Mark thank you. Benelli deserve to do well with this fabulous bike at an affordable price. Power wise 70 bhp is enough in the real world considering the original Honda CB 750 “super bike” of the 1970s was rated with similar power. My current bike has cruise control which never gets used so no big deal for me and I don’t really care if it’s built in China let’s be honest what’s not these days. This could well be my next bike……
It’s finally arrived, certainly looks the part and well priced for sure proving we’re paying well over the odds for Japanese and European bikes. I can live without Cruise control (I never use it on my current RT) and a quick shifter but would opt for the option of heated grips. I’d originally assumed they would just drop the Benelli 752 engine into this which has more power however looks like a complete new unit albeit I’m sure they have their reasons for not doing so. If Moto GB and the dealerships sort themselves out they should sell boat loads of these. Thanks Mark great review as always no doubt MCN will slate it but who cares what they think 🤔
Great review mate. I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these bikes. I've had a 502X which I have put to great use over the past few years and it has been a fantastic bike. This new version is definitely a contender for the 502x replacement. A quick question though, how do you think it compares to CFMOTO 800mt? Ride safe 👍
Many thanks 👍...yes I had a trk 502 for a while.... great bike ...this is a great choice if you fancy a bit more power....it rides superbly Best wishes mark
Great review mark 👍. If its as reliable as the 502 and parts backup is on point then it should do well. Was the abs switchable? The pillion seat looked a fair angle ? Or was that just the camera view ?
Hi no ...the abs isn't switchable I'm afraid...yes there is a bit of an angle to the rear seat...not too sure on passenger comfort on that one ...but rider confort is first class Best wishes mark
I loved the TRK502X when I test rode it. Have been waiting for this. Very tempting… Just one thing it is missing, cruise control for long distance touring!
golly I am 178 cm and weigh 67 kg now i know why i keep doing tankslappers on bikes like the cbr 650 4 cylinder and the ducati 803 cafe racer, I need to put some weight on ...
Mark I do enjoy your videos indeed, however I struggle to find any of your videos where you have found a bike ypu don't like or even issues of a bike you don't like.. Most of your videos are high 5s and thumbs up!!. On saying that id be of a similar mind set as all bikes are brilliant and any little foibles they have can be put down as character and 9 times out of 10 we can ride round the... Keep them coming lad.. 🏁🏁🏁🏁
oooo that bike is pretty! Im a sucker for gold and black and red and black.. a combo of the two is nice....id get the offroad model just to get the color lol
I know two people who have put big miles on Benellis, one the smaller TRK, the other, the Leoncino 500. Neither bike produced a problem. I also know someone who rode from China to England on a CFMoto and that didn't break down. Chinese bikes are reliable. The Chinese make good engines, otherwise the likes of KTM wouldn't have them built there. Good review, Mark. NJ
Well said! There are a lot op people criticising Chinese bikes due to their perceived bad reliability and than buy a Ducati or KTM with all their issues for 2x the price.
Been dying to see a review of this having seen one at the bike show last year & I was really impressed with it. I have a dealer not to far away from me, so will be arranging a test ride. Thanks for a great review Mark.
I have a 502X ( as a 2nd bike to my 1200 gsa, ) which is unbelievable value for 6 grand. For just £100 more ( on the road) we are now getting the power that the 502 lacks ( 47 bhp to 70bhp ) and fully adjustable suspension on the rear. Looks like the 502 rear brake was a single pot caliper (feels like) and i think the 702 is a twin ? TFT screen and bluetooth too ! Keen to know what the optional heated grips and seat will cost ? No dealers by me (moto GB) have got one to demo yet though .... Good Move Sir !
Not even a drop for your viewers? Time for some next level reviews. Smash it a bit Mark. How about a donut or two. Just joking. Nice review Mr. Pulling.
Yes Chinese motor ...but the Benelli bikes are very reliable....many owners have thousands of miles with no problems ....so all good 👍 Best wishes mark
Hi Mark, really enjoy your channel. Last week I bought a Himalayan 450 from Poole Moto {yes, a great dealership). Took it back for it's first service and rode a Benelli 702X....and now buying that too! I've come over from Hastings as none of the dealers near me seem to have much of a clue. If you're ever over this way let me know. Chris.
@@markpulling12Thank you Mark for the guidance. In fact here in our country road version isn’t available. And dealership is offering X version only. I am interested but I am 5.6
Cracking review Mark of what appears to be a cracking bike and really good value, I’m wondering what the catch is? Kudos to you for doing a review in such hot conditions! I’m going to get a test ride one one of these for sure! Thanks Mark👍👏😀🏍
@@markpulling12 I just wanted to add you really are good at these bike reviews, I know you’ve been doing them a long time, you answer all the questions and demonstrate the features to a very high standard! Good on you for sharing what you do! 👍👏😀 PS I imagine the bike retailers are more than happy to loan you their bikes! 👍
@@antonoat many thanks for the kind words....yes I try to give viewers what I would want to see in a review...and tell it exactly how I feel when on the bike Thanks again 👍😀
Thank you for the review, I'm longing the TRK 502X, looks better than TRK 502 although the road-bias version are more approachable to me, but the 502X standard weight just put me off. Knowing this bike are lighter and had more horse power, definitely gonna wait my Indonesian Benelli dealer bringing this to my country. Btw, the windshield looks smaller from this view, does the wind protection do any good and not produce buffeting to the helmet?
Hi Mark, just bought the last TRK 702 X from Poole Moto and when i was on the phone to them you were their for another review and informed Steve i think that it does display Sat nav because he dindint know lol, trade in my TRK502 for it which i loved, but lacking the higher motorway speeds other than that great bike, but need something bigger as doing a 15 day tour of Switzerland next year, plus the free luggage offer was a no brainer, great review. Cheers Adrian
Nice review Mark, have you seen BMW have just launched the 750/850 updates now the F800/F900 & adventure. All models same engine 10 more hp and more torque. Assume available to order now as you can configure on the website.
if you are to buy one of the following two: Honda Cb500X vs TRK 702X , which one would you spend your money on? Buying reason i think it speaks for itself since both bikes are in the same category.
Hi the cb500x is a benchmark bike very good indeed...I have ridden them alot however my money would go on the benelli...bit more power makes for much more effortless cruising and I found it very comfortable and substantial to ride ...also smoother and less buzzy than the honda Best wishes mark
this bike is over 3k cheaper than a transalp or a tenere(both same price in my country),so its an alternative that puts you in thinking.also the trk800 is equipped very good.but, there is a big issue i believe, the weight.over 240 kilos?i dont know...
Mark what a fab in depth review of the new benelli trk 702 ... I am going to order mine for January I turn 50 soon .... greetings from your closest neighbour the Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪 safe journeys Mark your channel is superb 👏 👌 👍
Many thanks Jason ... great choice on the trk ...I think they are flying out if the dealers at the moment I knew they would be popular Best wishes mark
Hello mark nice review, I want to buy a bike but I’m thinking between the cb500x and this trk702. I know the trk have more torque and power and also much heavier but comparing it with the cb500x which one do yo highly recommend me to buy hand in heart.
Hi ...tough choice.. the honda is perfect reliability...but the benellis are reliable and owners have done 30k miles no problems. If I had to choose right now I'd take the benelli...it's more relaxed at speed ...the honda is a little buzzy at speed plus the trk is more comfortable Best wishes mark
hey mark glenn from bridport ,had the 702x for a week now and 250 on clock .thamks to you i love this bike.o by the way i had a trophy 1210 to trade in for this and it was you i got it,but to big for the roads in west dorset, i keep saying i no ut thank you ,we must meet
Great review and a lovely bike for the money 👌... Bit of topic but just wondering what trousers you're wearing in this vlog, I'm looking for something similar? I presume they have armour in them?
Very thorough review Mark, but I'm more interested in the road based model. I'd be interested to know where Benelli has saved the money to make it cheaper. I'm guessing the suspension will be less exotic & cast wheels are probably cheaper than spoked. I'd also like to know if the gearing is different, please.
I like this very much, maybe have it on its lowest setting, so i can flat foot, also the Kawasaki versys is only 49kw and this is 70kw big difference. Maybe my upgrade 😊😎👍
Hi the Suzuki is a little more polished....as in build quality etc ...but in real world riding this is just a enjoyable...I'd say more comfortable and substantial to ride Best wishes mark
Hi Mark, good vid Benelli have always been great to look at. Especially their sports bikes. Would bee great for them to bring atleaamst a traditional sports-tourer with 900cc or more. Do you think they will👍
hi mark went to see 702x today good bike. you are spot on it is a good bike for the money.i am 6 feet 6inch and a good fit ,o bye the way i did see you sent me,ha ha.thank you
Well done excellent review looks like a cracking bike and at the price should sell very well ....i have noticed other testers copying you lately...its the sincerest form of flattery 😊😊
Great review Mark of this newly released bike! I think the engine comes from the CFMoto 700 engine in Benelli guise. I watched a video in Italy of the forest green Road version. Looks great in the colour scheme 👌
Thanks steve yes I was impressed with the build quality and the engine made good power ....most importantly for me it's smooth and comfortable Best regards mark
thank you Mark for exelent review hi have clx 700 sport it s a great bike but im thinking change for benelli 702 hi love my bike but im 46 and my backs its not the same . wat do you think ,can you gave me your opinion? thank you 👍🇵🇹
The clx 700 is very nice ...I think you would find this a more upright position and comfortable....it is physically a big bike so I'd try and get a test ride If you can ....I found it a great bike to ride Best regards mark
Hi Mark, good review. Just saw your CF800MT review as well so which is best as both are pretty similar. I know spec of CF is much higher hence price but if you had to choose………. 🤔😉
Another great review Mark, you always tell it like it is. I got my Benelli 752s after looking at a lot of reviews but it was the review you did on my Bike that was the most informative, and really captured the Essence of what the bike is all about. this review of the 702X is yet more of the high standard of what you do! thanks Mark keep up the good work. Kind Regards. Adrian.
Hi the 800mt is a fantastic bike ...more tech power and price but tbh the benelli rides just as nicely ....I'd save some money and get the benelli myself Best wishes mark
That is impressive. Majority of adventure bikes with factory fitted hand guards are plastic and are basically wind deflector’s providing no protection to the levers in the event of the bike going over.
@@markpulling12 that explains the *NO CRUISE* control 😆 for all guys who wondered about it w\o asking the ruit question.. 😆 now, they should just obtain that flappy clip-on plastic for the throttle, and *quit complaining* 😁
Hi the cfmoto has a bit more tech and more power but tbh when you are riding along at 60/70 mph there isn't much in it Personally I'd easily go for the benelli Best wishes mark
Been waiting for these for ages and will be popping to my local dealer. Am only interested in the road version and looking forward to your review of it. The Benelli ticks the box in every way other than the weight. I spoke to the dealer and they confirmed the bike is 215kg unladen which means no fluids so 235kg with a full tank which is a heavyweight. That maybe the deal breaker for me because once you loaded it up with panniers etc is gonna be a pain to push around a wet campsite or gravel carpark.
Many thanks.... interesting...my take on unladen weight is this What is the unladen weight of a bike? unladen weight means the weight of the vehicle fully equipped for service excluding the weight of any load. The bike had half a tank of fuel and by my feeling it didn't feel like 235 kg more like the 215 kg ....but I might be wrong....either way I'm not a big guy and it felt easier to move than my 502. Which is interesting Just my 50 pence worth Best regards mark
Hi Mark, thanks for your response. I pretty sure curb weight is with all running fluids and a full tank. Would love to know the actual weight fully fueled but am gonna have a test ride soon to see how it feels. Am the same height as you but only 60kg so my worry is just lugging it around with full panniers and my daughter on the back. Thanks again.
