Absolutely great bike.. I picked my brand new trk 702x up 2weeks ago today.. done just under 600 miles in the 2 weeks, with a 400 mile trip to Scotland and back in the day. A massive improvement on my trk502x what I part exchanged, The only thing I feel could be better is the screen, I’m 6’3” and get a good bit of wind blast in my face, larger screen already ordered online off Ali express 😎👌 I would highly recommend these bikes 👍
@@zoltanszeder1813 nothing through the handlebars or seat to note.. a light buzz through the pegs when she’s revving on the motorway from about 7k-7.5k RPM. My Trk 502X was the same until after a couple of thousand miles breaking in the engine and changing the oil out from the break in oil what comes in the bike from the factory, if the 702x is anything like my 502x it’ll just get smoother and better the more miles I do. 👍
I've got a decade old cfmoto which is a bit rough around the edges but always runs and has never ever let me down. Some models have been ok for ages, like the 650 I've got. Hence why there's so many models coming out based on it
Usual quality review Mark, I saw the prototype at the NEC last year & it looks like a winner. I think the white looks best, the detailing really stands out.
Looks a great bike for the money, I like this mid range cc, do we need much more 😊, I've got the tracer 700 and never felt I need anything faster 😊 great review Mark as always 🎉
i love how you always show the sitting position and tell us how tall you are etc. that always gives me a good feel for what to expect and it easy to compare for your own height etc. 👍👍👍
that bike seems to me to be the perfect all round bike, looks like a brilliant tourer and a far better and more useful machine than the huge adventure bikes so many have now, when I started riding those huge things didn't exist and a touring bike was whatever you had, far more fun than a bemouth of a bike
Great review, I was looking at getting the 502 then saw your post on the group and came here (new sub btw) to see your thoughts. Now you have me thinking of the 702 over the 502, mainly to be used for a commute and light touring bike as I have my 'fun' bike for the other days.
Another great review Mark, I've got a Leo 500 trail, bought used with 3,300 miles on it. I've put 5,500 trouble free miles on it, wouldn't mind going up to one of these for the extra power. 🙂
At the moment (March 2024) and for a limited time, that bike comes with full Givi luggage system for free, there will never be another bike in the UK with all that added in for a better price, it’s quite remarkable
good review Mark , and i have one on order the TRK 702 green one 😁 hopefully i will have him this month i hope on Feb 23/24 because 25 is my Birthday 🤪🤪 Whoep Whoep Party .
@@stevesanelli90 I'd say the frame is the same Steve ...the suspension is just lower ...looks like you could fit the centre stand but it might be harder to lift up as it's lower plus ground clearance maybe ?
Nice Review Mark , tbh I Prefer my 752s bigger engine and premium forks, and brakes, mind you the usb ports would have been nice but well done Mark on another down to earth and thorough review! take care.
Yes, keep your 752. At least that is a real Benelli motor. The new TRK has yet another derivative of a the Kawasaki 650cc twin bored out to 700 cubes. I'm willing to bet you could even swap engine parts directly from the CFMOTO 700CLX with no issue. As someone who owns a TNT, I want to see the old Benelli who wasn't afraid to be stylish and different 😢 this new TRK is the pinnacle of Chinese bland-ness
Thanks John yes I think they are all sold ...there might be one or two left if you ring round..I think the next delivery is end of the year sometime Best wishes mark
Went to see one Yesterday, I didn't know it has the long stroke Er6 motor which is the same as in the CF MotoMT700,goes really well, found the build quality has the edge over the MT700. It is brilliant for stability on the motorway and windy conditions, unbelievable price just can't see you can wish for better even if you have deep pockets, brilliant.
Mark, looks as though you really enjoyed the bike and review! Strange question… does that rear silencer get overly hot? Could you put some throw overs on it for touring? I ask as I don’t want or like hard panniers. Also why no centre stand, is it an option if so how much?
Hi Graham the X model comes with a centre stand but not this one ...I guess because it's lower ...you could still fit it though but check ground clearance etc ...the rear silencer wasn't overly hot Best wishes mark
Fantastic review, again, looks a really good well priced bike. How did you find low speed manoeuvring, tight turns etc., was the weight an issue. Must say the lights looked very impressive and I can't understand why more manufacturers don't back light the controls.
Hi Paul ...no I found it fine ...Ive ridden GS versus tracer etc ...and it felt a bit lighter than those ...a great bike for the money Highly recommend it Best wishes mark
Bro please make a video on trk 502 and 702 comparison and discuss the changes internal and external and how it feels 702 is not available in India know we need to know the updates and side by side comparison
Good review I loved my previous 502 but as you said they are "busy" above 65. Got a new 702 last week and have mixed feelings low speed in top gear it hunts and as I do a lot of riding in built up areas and I really don't expect to be in 3rd or 4th at 30mph. Still love the handling and comfort of these models ( will definitely get the bigger screen) and the extra power is most welcome but not sure about the harshness of the 180 motor with firm acceleration feels like an old school big single with too much advance!!!. I guess I'll get used to it.
Those mixed feelings have gelled to a certain dislike. The motor is totally intractable below 3000-3500rm so I end up riding round town (the local council lunatics have put 20MPH in place) in in 2nd or 3rd gear and still need to "feather" the throttle to avoid the harshness of the motor. Any large throttle opening with the motor below 3000 rpm judders and makes the mirrors bounce. My local dealer (who has always been very helpful) has told me that this motor is like the 800 and needs ~4000miles to bed in. I sure don't want to do 4000 miles like this. It's such a shame because I like the riding position and feel of the machine but the engine feels like badly out of tune V twin or a concrete mixer. 😞
I was disappointed by the reaction of the technical person at the NEC bike show who basically said this is how the bike is, live with it. So at this pointas there appears to be no dealer remap (my local dealer has promissed to keep me updated on this), I am looking at other possible options.
Hi Mark, love your channel. ❤ I have a question. I took a test ride on one of these last week and was quite impressed. I noticed the VIN number began ZBNPA, which would mean made in Italy, although reports are saying these engines are made in China. Don't suppose you had a peek at the VIN on that one or still have the hire/rental agreement (on which the VIN would appear) to compare. Asking just out of curiosity. Thanks 👍
@@markpulling12 Thanks. I've just done a bit of research and apparently there is such a thing as WMI (World Manufacturer Identifier), which is the first (generally) three digits of the VIN. Benelli's WMI is ZBN. This just means it is a Benelli vehicle but doesn't necessarily mean it was made in Italy.
Hello , I tested the 702x and I loved it. I'm hesitating between the standard 702 and the x version. Which one did you like the most? big difference in handling? Thank you and very good video
Hi nicco ... handling felt the same on both ...I preferred the higher up position on the X model ...id go for the x model if it was for me Best wishes mark
Hi I've been asked this a few times..you would think it would be the cf Moto but I prefer the comfort of the benelli and the way it rides Best wishes mark
@@ouric Funnily enough they were saying the same about the Japanese Bikes when they first came over here. Seeing that most of the Manufacturers have Chinese made parts nowadays it would suggest the overall quality of all Bikes is dropping, manufacturers are in it to make money and they will source the cheapest parts in order to do so. Don't be surprised, just get used to it.
@@HW100 but the quality control is different! I have a Chinese garbage bike in my garage! Just saying!! But in the end everyone is free to buy what they want!! But for me one is was enough
Hello 👋 nice review. Which trk choose 702 or 702x ? I heard 702 has better breaks but 702 x has more comfortable susp. I am 6 ft tall. Can some one give me a hint? 🙏
Hi the CF Moto is a great bike lots of power and tech but it's price is getting near or is tracer 9 ...v Strom 800 etc territory....so for me I'd go for the better value middle size benelli...tbh at 60 /70!,,mph it rides just as well and is just as comfortable....I think the trk 700 is a great bike cheers mark
Looks to be a hidden gem this bike. Agree with you Mark that it looks really good in this green colour scheme. Illuminated switch gear as well and great lights. They seem to have ticked all the important boxes. Being a cable throttle it sadly won't have cruise control, but still, it seems fantastic vfm. Good tyres Pirelli Angel GTs as well which is rare on a more budget focussed bike. It will be taking on all sorts of other bikes at this price point. However I have no idea where my nearest Benelli dealer is or if their dealer network is any good?
I don’t know why but don’t like the looks, the colour scheme of the massive beak and especially the dash. Cant someone make twin clock tft. I know I am looking thru your camera but the finish looks poor ie the bolts etc. I am envious that you get to try different bikes. I can see in a few years if the pricing is still competitive you will see a lot more on the roads. That is a big if though as they seem to be creeping up very fast. Great in depth review buddy as always. Also enjoy your e bike ones too
I think there is nothing that could Best this bike in price. The closest one that is actually better is the Transalp 2023, but its much more expensive, around 3K euro more in my country.. The Trk702 could definatly be my upgrade in 2-3 years when they go second hand for even cheaper. I am currently with Aprilia Pegaso Trail 2008. Also I am around your hight, so the 702x would be too tall for me. The Aprilia is the maximum seat hight 820mm for a 1.70m
Just been to my local dealer. None in stock all sold . More bikes due in march nxt year🙄 . was told beneli dont offer 702 demo bikes to dealers ? Was your bikes you rode customer bikes mark ?
The first one was an unsold model then quickly sold the second X model was the Moto GB bike loaned to me ...march next year..fof next stock .I thought and was hoping more like November/ December oh well watch this space I guess.....give Poole Moto a call they can deliver...and have a couple cheers mark
It's a nice review but the problem with these cheap China bikes is build quality. They've cut corners like traction control, but what corners were cut building the engine? Will it start smoking after 10k miles? Will the bolts show rust after a year? I think I'll take a young secondhand Triumph Tiger for now.
I glanced upon a 2 year old 502 and it looked 10 years old... probably a commuter bike so out in all weathers' but it looked really shabby with furred up fasteners' flakey paint on the frame' swingarm and other areas...... look great new but definitely not up to our climate
@@mrthomas394 new jap bikes aren't much better. I've had 2 new yamaha and a new suzuki over the last few years and thy all showed signs of corrosion and rusty bolts after a year. The seat lock on my my mt 10 seized up within a year, so couldn't remove the seats. Most manufacturers seem to be putting cheap components on their bikes these days.
Sorry, for 7 months no reviews of anything under 300 cc** - and, no, I do not count bicycles. Actually, there were only a couple of 300/350 reviews within that 7 month period, the rest being 'big bikes'. Of the latter, I would like to see the national sales for each individual 'big bike' that you have reviewed .......hardly worth it in the case of some of them. (** according to the list of 'Videos' given on here).
