personally ive found with my classic 350, that the engine only got better through time. So if anyone has concerns with speed with their new bike that has the j-series. I'd say wait until about 1,000km and then you'll get the real feel of the engine. Far better responsiveness, torque, and acceleration. As well as less vibrations :)
A lot of bikes are like that but maybe the singles are affected more. I have found that most bikes get a lot better after about 5000 miles. When I have mentioned this to dealers they totally agree. So much for buying new!
And you can ride them in all weathers without it or you getting coated in road dirt, with those lovely long mudguards. I love the twin riding lights in the nacelle too, just like the original bullet. Looks like a great practical bike for those who want a real-world machine and aren't in too much of a hurry, espcially to empty their bank accounts with the low price and great economy . Great review Mark. Realistic and to the point.
This might complement the other 350s if they price it right. I suggest pricing it about US$2-400 less than that of the Classic. I MIGHT suggest that if RE is going to continue selling the Classic as a 350, they might want to sell only the chrome version and let the Bullet be an entry-level model.
I do prefer the look of the Bullet over the Classic. If it was available back in December when I bought my Hunter that would have made my choice even harder. But love my little Hunter. Just put a set of YSS shocks on it this morning. Oh the difference. Thanks Mark.
Good one Mark, Ive recently traded my interceptor for a Classic 350 and couldnt be happier - smiles per miles much higher :) and thanks for the view of the second biggest harbour in the world which I used to visit as a child...now living on the biggest harbour in the world :) cheers
Great first review, looks like a Classic with a Hunter seat, which is not a bad thing, yet to ride any of them, this one is actually the first one I like the look of, and has the Bullet name to go with it :)
That loox stunning in the blacked out engine and forx. The rear grab rail looked a bit flimsy but that's a minor issue. The tank badge is proper Indian extravagance like the IPL kits.
Well done for getting an early review. The enfield of choice has just got more difficult😀 A real coup for RE would be to produce their bikes with tidyer welds please.
Since they are introducing tubeless wire spokes in the new gen Himalayan as an option (apparently), it might make its way to other bikes in the lineup, especially the 650 series.
Most VFM variant for me is Military variant. Good for both city and highway rides upto 80 to 90 kmph. Great mileage of 42 kmpl. Test ride it and if you like it just buy it. The bullet thump is there and very good even with stock exhaust.
G'day Mark, the sales of Royal Enfield 350 is still strong in Australia, I'm see them everytime I'm out on a ride, it's mid Spring and the best time for Motorcycles, a 350 past me on the freeway today it was a Hunter model l gave him a wave and left the Royal Enfield 650s throttle in the same position, don't have to prove anything just enjoying the ride, Greg review, cheers mate ride safe, Neil 🤠.
Evening Mark, great review as always, Poole harbour looks beautiful 😍 the bullet wow I really like it, the symatry ( can't spell it) of the clocks, the styling, love the black gold 😅 may this come with a bigger engine in the future ? 650? ... Overall looks great, finish great and the cost fab too... 🎉 Take care down there mark x
A 650 version of the Classic/Bullet has been spotted testing multiple times. Perhaps it would be launched by the end of 2024 after Shotgun and the 650 Scrambler.
Trying to figure out why RE would produce two so similar bikes. My guess is the Classic 350 will morph into a Classic 650, and the Bullet will take over the 350 slot.
It’s simple. The Bullet is iconic in India, the real market for Royal Enfield. They released the other models in other markets because they knew we would love them. The home market was whining about everything! But they did prove themselves as reliable and low cost to buy and operate. The core customers wanted a Bullet! When they finally released it they went crazy in India! That’s why they did it. They proved themselves to the rest of the world before unleashing the Bullet to India. Few people outside of India will lust after this as their first choice.
@@BlueRidgeRider I went for Bullet because 1) seat is more comfy in my opinion. 2) colours on classic are bit boring (I went for Bullet Maroon) 3) Name says it all - Bullet
Excuse wih are the diferences between the classic and the bullet 350? and with the hunter? maybe it's more comportable than the hunter ? Thanks, it'sa beautiful video!
Very nice looking bike. The seat is definitely a great imrovement in looks compared to the elderly iteration of the Bullet. Hope to get the chance to ride it this summer. It is a bike I seriously consider buying as a senior rider. 👍
An Excellent review Mark, I own a Hunter 350 and an Interceptor 650 Love them both, Wish I had more Brass, And space in my garage, I'd most Definitely get one of these new Bullets 👍 I've owned a 2008 350cc Bullet 👌 Once, I liked that, but I would think the new version is much better 👍 Cheers Paul Foster
Excellent Mark! There not being too much of a price difference between the Bullet and the Classic makes it even harder to choose 😄.I still prefer the chrome finish bikes though.
Yet another pleasant and informative review👍. The 350 Royal Enfield models do have a special character and nostalgia. If not for the fact that that my garage is already full of motorbikes it would be fun to have one. Hunter 350 still treating you well?
Great review as always Mark, so I appreciate your time, energy & commitment ⭐️ I do like the way the rear fender sits with a bent end & which looks better with the gap running around the rear tyre. That’s the only thing with the classics that looks a bigger gap when the rear pillion seat is removed. So, for this and a few other differences I do like the Bullet. But, I do love my Signals❤️
Hi Paul ....no I'd get the classic 350 because it's alot cheaper Not quite sure why they priced it £400 more for basically the same bike Best regards mark
Very good-bike. Not keen on the single seat. I'd have a Signals Classic. If I didn't need the underseat storage of the ADV 350 to carry all my writing paraphernalia around, I would replace the 390 Duke with a Classic 350 or maybe a Scram 411. Another thorough review, Mark. Nick
Interesting - it's 95% a Classic. Not sure why, but good luck to RE. All these bikes are amazing and fun. We've got three Royal Enfield Classic 350s and love them. It's not about power, it's about smelling the coffee and taking life slowly. As a rider of over 50 years, I won't be giving up mine any time soon! Ride Safe 🙏🏼
Also, for anyone considering these or other current RE's, I am 6'-4", 235lbs and it's amazingly comfy! In other words, if you're a big dude, no worries. Just relax and take in the sights... Ride Safe 🙏🏼
Even after launch of reborn classic, RE was selling 3000 units of bullet with old engine. There is fan following especially for this black with stripes model in India plus RE gets bragging rights for longest ever continuous production bike. it is just classic with few changes but makes commercial and marketing sense
Same here Scott. I've come down from much bigger bikes and love the RE 350 models. I've a Classic 350 at the moment and love it. At the test ride I was prepared to be underwhelmed. The opposite turned out to be the case.
I hear everybody say : 'You can put the trippy in there' but I have never seen a classic with it actually installed. Strange that it is standard on the Meteor. A typical bullet seat, but it is enormous for such a small bike. It it is as soft as the classic, then it is to soft in my opinion.
Good point but here in the us the triumph 400 are going to retail around the 5500 range as reported by Revzilla..add dealer fees & that will be 6k-6500. Buddy of mine bought a Royal Enfield classic 350 brand new out the door for 3900 brand new..that’s a much better value..less performance but he’s using it as a commuter so price was more important
@@willyrackham2957 I agree 👍. I love chugging around on my Classic 350 short-shifting into top at just 30mph - it loves it. Sat on the Triumph 400s at the NEC and was a bit disappointed by the size. They just don't feel like a full size bike to me. Also, there were a few niggly bits of poor finishing.
As far as retros go, this is a beautiful machine but a rather tough sell over something like a Kawasaki 650RS, I think the latter can definitely justify the not-too-big price difference on performance and quality alone and it also has the looks and really low weight for a twin. Comes down to personal preference and I do have a soft spot for the torque of a single and the look of an air cooled. I'm just glad the motorcycle world offers these choices, I have lost the love for cars after 49 years as progress and technology have killed the driving pleasure completely.
@@jimmyjam8795 Fair enough, though my comment reflects the position of someone with choice, someone able to afford either. Far more people can afford the RE and many that can afford the Kawa are having to stretch their budget significantly and that changes the weight of the price in making a choice.
Ive been looking at these new 350 even tho I ride a 500 Tribute. Before I checked them out I was biased towards the Gold version ie black pipe. But after viewing both the cheaper chrome version wins it hands down over the matt black...imho. So beware check them both out before making the choice.
Dear Mark, Many thanks for your video. I have also watched several others, and have found them to be really enjoyable. I might be in the market for one of these, but, if I do go ahead, I would very much like to take it across to the Continent for a week or two. Baring in mind what I've just said, do you honestly feel - in your motorcycling experience - that the little Bullet 350 would be able to cope with sustained motorway/French highway speeds, for three or four hundred mile days, over two weeks at a time? I know that you touched on this in the video, I'd just like you to possibly put my mind at rest. Many thanks in advance for your time and efforts, Warmest regards, Neil (the Midlands).
Height Neil personally myself I would say a no to that even though the bullet will do a top speed of 70 miles an hour you can take it on motorways for say 10 20 miles I I wouldn't want to be taking it on 300 mile days over France that's just my personal opinion it can be done but it would be heavy going so to speak if you catch my drift the bullet classic meteor of more suited to 50 60 miles an hour quite country roads with the occasional motorway trip not saying that can't be done but it would be just a little bit heavy going you'll be better off we're getting something like minimum power 40 to 47 horsepower bike for that sort of trip to make doing 70 miles an hour more relaxing hope that helps any other questions please feel free to ask best wishes Mark
Hi, Mark. Many thanks for your prompt reply. Another bike I was looking at was the Triumph Bonneville T100 - do you think that would be more suited for the sort of riding I want to do? It's still got that beautiful classic 'old world' appeal, but has a bit more grunt. Thanks again for your time. N@@markpulling12
I am all for power and performance, but the simplicity, and fabulous engine noise ticking over, is something to die for. But does it really have a kick start!??
Bro i love bullet 500 but in india they have discounted, I came to know that in foreign countries bullet 500 was still in production so plz can you make an video of 2023 classic or bullet 500 ..
Hello Mark, I was just wondering what your thoughts are on tubed tyres (as on this model)? I have been led to believe they can be dangerous in certain situations.
Hi any tyre has the likelihood of a flat I really wouldn't worry about it 100000s of Enfield's have been sold world wide to happy owners :) Years ago all we had was tubed tyres Yes they are more of a pain to fix a puncture but think I've had one puncture in like 5 years ...so all good 💯✅ Best wishes mark
Are the tube tyres that come with this motorcycle reliable, or puncture prone compared to tubeless tyres? Also I like the colour of base variant that is military black but it comes with single channel ABS, is that okay or better to go for dual channel ABS? Can you please help me decide if it’s better to purchase?
I am a great fan of the 350’s and found the Hunter more flickable than the Classic. Is this bike basically a restyled Classic sharing the same frame and geometry ?
Hi Mark ,I have the 350 classic and wander why they bothered with it and didn’t just Make the bullet apart from the seat it’s the same bike , Do you think they are just too close together.?
Hi they are basically the same bike ...the bullet is slightly more comfortable with its different seat ...but I'd go for the classic and save ££££ Best wishes mark
In the netherlands it is the other way around. The Bullet is priced below the Classic. I have just bought a new Bullet350 . The black and chrome model. @@markpulling12
The badge on the tank does wonders. A low priced bike that comes off cheap with a sticker on the tank would cost the company tons of money. "Why produce a bike so similar to the Classic?" The history of the Bullet is HUGE in India. The Indian audience is a faithful bunch.
Their prices are getting interesting, nearly £1,000 more than the Hunter? That's starting to look expensive for a basic air cooled bike with only a little over 20bhp.
Speed limiter is a deal breaker for me. I will not buy one. You will simply get run over on the free ways here in America. And you can't take any real trips without being on free ways at times. No deal RE. Listen up. Bring back the 500. Thanks for another great video.
@markpulling12 this reminds me of British Leyland with cars(mini &1100) produced as either Austin, Morris, Riley or Wolseley. The only difference was badging and different grilles. The Bullet is so similar to the classic and I think the price difference is down to MotoGB not having stocks to get rid of like the Classic and Meteor. This one will be distributed by RE. I think the Bullet will sell well in its home market as the name is treated with affection. It wouldbe interesting to know how many Classie 500s were sold vs the standard Bullet when both were available in the UK. I feel RE should have produced a "hot" version of the 350 for export giving it a bit more poke for safer overtakes and to compete with the new Triumph 400s coming onto the market. Triumph have priced the 400s very keenly starting at £4999 so there is virtually no difference in price between the Bullet and Triumph.
Schöner Bericht. Was ist nach deinem Befinden besser optisch und fahrtechnisch ?! Welches von den beiden würdest Du bevorzugen ?! Hunter oder Bullit ?! Oder was anderes ?!
Much like the classic really, don't like all that matt black. As on the classic those big mudguards are very good on the wet mucky uk roads. Speedo often sticks on the classic and is 5mph high at 70 mph so i suspect the same on the bullet.
Royal Enfield bike hai bullet tho ye nahi hai....ho sakti thi agar rear design thodi lambi karke rectangular shape mey rear mud guard classic jaise cover karte tho.
Another nice 350, they are just competing with themselves at this point. The price on this does seem high though. Compared to what MotoGB are selling the Meteor, classic and hunter’s for this is expensive. My local dealer In2moto are selling all of the ones I’ve mentioned for as little as £3700 so I don’t see why you would buy one of these instead. Nice but only as nice as the others which are cheaper.
Royal Enfield is carried away on pricing. Way too much for what it is. Almost the same price as the new baby Triumph which has twice the power. In other words you can get a second hand 1/1.5 year old Meteor with minimal milage for half of the list price of this, as they don't hold their value. As a Meteor owner I have 2 complaints: 1. Service schedule of the 350s is way too short and expensive. Valve clearance is every 6k, and every 6 months is inspection. You are looking at annual servicing cost of £400-450 if you want to keep the warranty. 2. Royal Enfield customer service is rubbish.
