One thing to bear in mind is that even "fat" bicycle tyres are very susceptible to punctures - particularly from thorns. Many cyclists, if they are venturing any distance from home, tend to carry spare inner tubes. However, I have read of some nightmare stories about getting these fat tyres off the rim when working at the side of the road with no workshop facilities. Anyone else heard this?
