finaalllly! someone who took the time to teach people this song on youtube/ over the interweb! love the beginning to this song! and the drums through out! powerful man, awesome. thanks for teaching me this lil gem! Had a hard time hearing the song while practicing this, but after an hour, i have it near the speed in which its suppose to play. You friend, are too kind! keep it up! =)

A question... I've been a part-time drummer for years and I can play this beat yet I simply cannot maintain the consistency of my right foot for those kick drums. It ends up jerking randomly and throwing off the groove. I get the right number of hits but they're just not solid - my whole body ends up falling clumsily into my kick drum, and no amount of practice seems to improve it. It makes me think there's something wrong with my kick drum technique or general posture. What might you say about this?

Try heel down and practice slowly. After a month, switch back to heel up.

That's a hard one to say, mate. Grades aren't simply black and white. This song requires some serious bass drum technique BUT, at the same, not much else. I'd say Grade 5 or 6, but if you're good at bass drum then maybe grade 4 or EVEN 3(?). It's all down to the individual drummer in question really.

So how do you play on a righty kit with a lefty kick drum on an analog drum kit? You should teach the standard way most people play, not just this goofy foot stuff that I've honestly never seen before except from left-handed drummers

I just set my kit up as left handed when I first started and then proceeded to play open handed. I later found out that it was rather strange to play like this :)
