@Neame1991 I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but Recount includes pet DPS in your personal DPS. That 100 dps higher is just plain 100 dps higher. I didn't consider that statistically significant (maybe if I shot the dummy for an hour it would be) but it's clear that the rotation does not lose DPS when you drop Kill Command entirely. The pet just does a smaller % of your damage.
dude you're my hero...you're the first guy to ever give clear run-through to every class and spec. ive had troubles finding descent vids that gives great views to my class. insta-subsribe ^^
@intercasso But, I wouldn't be a proper Huntard if I didn't leave Growl on while DPSing! Actually, thanks for the suggestion. When I do my next hunter vid I'll test your theory.
@Neame1991 No, it's not 9k. Your numbers are at 80 versus a raid dummy (assuming you are hitting the raid dummies) that have stats matching a level 80 raid boss. I'm hitting a raid dummy with stats matching a level 85 raid dummy. I'm not even close to hit capped, and my crit is abysmal. No, I'm not doing 9k solo against a dummy.
(Part 1) the RIGHT BM Rotation: Opening: Bestial Wrath -> KC -> Arcane Shot x4 -> Serpent Sting -> KC -> Arcane Shot x2-3 -> Fervor -> KC Rotation: KC -> Cobra Shot x2 -> Arcane Shot -> Repeat Talents: BM Talent tree is obvious. Only use 1 point in SV Tree to increase haste by 1%. Put ALL leftover talents into everything in the MM Tree except for Rapid Killing and Improved Steady Shot. Keep in mind your pet will be doing on average 45-50% of your total damage. Continue to part 2 for glyphs
I have dualspecced BM/MM and use BM when I'm solo questing and MM for dungeons & raids. BM is great for solo PvE because it makes your pet a much better tank so you can hang back and unload!
@Neame1991 If what you're saying was true, I'd be doing almost 9k total dps. Trust, me, I'm not :) It's easily testable. Auto-attack in melee with no weapon equipped; you'll be doing no damage. Order your pet to attack, and your dps will skyrocket. You'll see that the pet damage is included in your damage automatically. Plus, as I show in the video, hover over your DPS and the tooltip tells you what % of your damage came from your pet. It was 28% in my first test.
I love your video's and I am leveling a hunter ATM, my death knight is currently 85 but I did some research and , in the end I made my death knight pvp and gonna make my soon to be hunter 85 pve, where do u get that core hound?
Quick question. How low should your Focus be before you use Cobra shot and how high should it be to use Arcane Shot? I mean, say you are at 0 Focus and use Cobra Shot. This would quickly bring you up to about 15 Focus while gaining focus during the casting of cobra shot. Now, Is it better to wait the extra 7 seconds to use Arcane Shot or should you use Cobra Shot again? And how high would your focus need to be before shooting/spamming arcane shot?
@rockinfire69 I do have glyph of mend pet, and it doesn't affect pets dying, it gives pets happiness without having to waste food, so I'm not sure what you're going on about.
@Canseenox I would say 2h unless you find 2 1h weapons that equal more stats. as for pathfinding i dont find faster move speed useful in a raid. if you have a bad group then yeah it will help recover from a wipe faster but that build in the video is probably assuming you have a good raid/instance group and you wont die.
A tip for all u hunters out there,it could really affect your pet's dps if you turn off growl,it gets your pet boss aggro, and it could be focus spent on claw, smach, bite,or it's special ability,so if you're in a raid TURN OFF GROWL
you are talking about why 2 arcane shots does more dps than a kill command, im not a good hunter but i hope its a bug. but it could be either like this cause of your pet? maybe use devilsaur or a spirit beast :D good video thanks for talent build and rotation! goblomatic> boulderfist
ok umm i like the rotation but what about all ur stuning and slowing abilitys where dose that fit in with ur rotation? plz tell me im trying bm on m y hunter im not that good at hnters so i would love to get some tips thanks
Not to nit pick, but the guys over at Elitist Jerks have done some serious number crunching and a few things you have said are dead wrong. Two that stick out the most are the prime glyph choices and the marksman talent choices. Kill Command Glyph and Kill shot glyphs are the only "required" prime glyphs for BM hunter according to their math and Go for the Throat and Sic 'em are also pretty big DPS boosts for your pet...and as BM hunters the pet IS our dps basically.
The whole rotation thing confuses me :/ does it matter which attacks you use? And when would you use this rotation? Usually I just hit any attack I have I didn't think it mattered. Please help I'm so confused! :/
I was just thinking, would it be possible for a hunter to first tame an exotic pet, then reset talents and spec in e.g. Survival and still be able to use the exotic pet?
at 07:38-07:39 your hunter gains the improved steady shot aura? am I seeing that right? If yea how? O_O? if not....please help me understand what that was. O_O Thanks :)
You say that the pet barely uses enough focus, but as of what I can see it uses it all. Having sic em would more or less make your pet's bite dmg go up by 120%. wouldn't it be better?
im confused should i make a beast mastery hunter or enhancement shaman? im looking for something fun to play yet powerful aswell - please help everyone thnx :)
@tgnWorldOfWarcraft Steady shot is stronger as survival why would u use cobra shot as BM?. im currently BM and survival, i do about 12-13k dps with ilvl 339 as survival, and 7-8k as BM.
you can play until lvl 60 with no expansions. but i got all the expansions including MoP for $60 upgrading my stater account. good price for all the game :)
i hear alot of peps screaming about dps crits. How good a class is isnt all about the crits but also the speed of the abilities. Of course casters will do more dmg on each spell but hunters can be aa freaking machinegun. So its not about the crit but about the average dps and the ability to stay alive. I know several hunters in real life which are all up there in both raids and arena.
most people dont relize that when ur raiding and your a hunter THAT they DONT drop launch there immolation trap whitch is a 1k dps boost basically when im raiding with my guild thats how i hit 20k dps
I just did a test myself and i pulled 9.6k dps im most likely less geared too ive seen the rest of your videos your good at survival marksman but beastmastery not too much... Beast Mastery relies on your pet obviously but you need to make sure he does 38% to 60% of your damage mine did 44% i used a core hound too maybe cover your pets talents as well because it will change your damage the spec is kinda what i was going for i see that you have brought back traps wich was the secret to
Beast Mastery hunters in LK but i thank you for the 2 trap talents next time keep up explosive trap too i tried hard for it not to be aoe but it does help
They do loose health. You just need todo alot of Damage. Ive killed a dummy before. But it took me about an hour. I'm using the Marksman spec but they can loose health and die.
so i dont quite understand why hunters need weapons besides a bow... the whole point of a hunter is ranged dps obviously, and with your pet you almost never get attacked so whats the point? to make them look cooler...?
Also as a bm hunter you dont have the imp mend pet glyph?? oh right because in the perfect world hunters pet never die and we wouldnt need the ability to heal in the first place god wtf is that about...
I can do 12k dps with ease as beastmaster hunter in heroics with 341 IL, with 30% pet damage increase from mastery. My MM dps is 14k and survival 12.5-13k.. but those 2 are boring so i roll as BM
waste of 2 talents in improve SS, cause u fire it at the beginning of the fight and then just refreshing it... just check the video where the recount is displayed and u will see> Improve SS used 1
