@@domingocadena9805 Conversely the best thing is watching someone freshly brew something and then learning from the outcome, which is why this series is a smash hit
I actually really like the design space of this Alchemy release. It's very top down and flavorful (pun intended), and I like the expansion of Adventures using digital design.
Well, the herd of porcine puns that this deck draws out of me is un-pork-tunate for anyone uninterested in my hamming things up. But I gotta say, I think this idea needs a bit more time bacon before it’s a proper stew for players to squeal over. While I think there’s still a chance it has legs, only time will tell if the hair on its chinny chin chin is enough for historic to let it in. It draws out some Grade A jokes tho XD
I think Historic is the only format that Companions are legal in. The power level errata that the mechanic received is in a way, the first “alchemization” of Magic cards. I also think that once the mechanic is only legal in Historic they can rebalance the rule again. Maybe if you play with a companion your starting hand size starts at 6 cards. Or maybe if you play a companion you can’t do a London mulligan, but rather a Paris mulligan. Or they could just alter the different creatures particular restrictions. Maybe Yorion becomes an additional 30 or 40 cards instead of 20. Here is a question, let’s say they do just ban the mechanic and unban the banned companions, would Yorion or Lurrus be strong enough to be widely played?
I played the Pig deck in the phantom event last week or the week before. It definitely felt like there were good cards in that deck, but were weighed down by those decks, obviously, not being built to a sort of streamline or rigorous testing. Interested to see how this plays out
Just got a few wins with this in the No-Ban event because of WC limitations (and it always feels a bit bad to use them on Live cards), and even managed to get Swine Rebellion to pop off a couple times.
I feel like we're at or close to the point where theres enough good changelings that you can just shove them all together the best tribal payoffs and call it a deck
Freshly Brewed is my favorite show you do. I always look forward to the weird and fun brews you do and getting to see you put your own stamp on magic decks by playing what you think is fun rather than just what is good makes the show amazing. This deck looks awesome
