You get a lot of new growth and hair that grows outside of a loced area. So right before you do a retwist this pony tail is for sure a style option. I wish I loced my hair sooner.

I love this! I’m two and a half years locd with microlocs, and honestly I like constantly retwisting my hair because I don’t want it to thin out, I have microlocs but very thick hair if that makes sense
So I’m a few months locked, not sure how many months maybe like 8 or something. But I haven’t used aloe Vera gel at all on my locks and I’m wondering why it’s so popular in the lock community. Right now I use lock it up by taliah waajid but I’ve used many others in the past. I should also note that I don’t style my locks very often, or at all. I only use gel for retwists: tips and pointers are very much appreciated. I feel like no style I do on my locks looks good because they’re not long enough, even though my locks are about medium length right now.
