ChrissTez ! They cut scenes from there??? Oh no they didn’t!!! I’ve read the book twice but have only seen Part 1 and I was so looking forward to watching that bit... 😭
I was actually looking for that one part after they rescued Peeta, that he eats with Katniss, Gale, Finnick and Annie and where he goes « mad »against them . I thought it was so good in the book and I’m so sad that they didn’t keep it.
yes i do thats why the books are better than the movies in the hunger games but i hated reading mockingjay becuase so many chacters like prim and finnick died when they shoudn't have but i liked catching fire
really really really upset about them not even acknowledging the whole “prep team is trapped and tortured” part, it was quite a big deal in the book i feel like, seeing that district 13 may not be as good as they seem
yeah, honestly, this would have been a great scene to include. One of the best parts of Mockingjay was how brutally it depicted war, watching the goofy Capitol prep team being tortured by the "good" guys was deeply upsetting to read as a kid cause it forced you to think about why both the capitol and the rebel alliance were hurting individuals, what purpose that torture served, and it just made you think about morality in wartime in general
It wouldn't have worked in the movies though. You never see Katniss bond with them in the movie like she does in the books. It wouldn't have been as pivital to the story. If they'd have done that to Effie instead then maybe it would have worked in the same way.
Yes but in the context of the previous films, the prep team weren't even named. There was no good reason to show the torture of people the average audience wouldn't recognise
everybody is complaining about not enough peeta scenes or not enough finnick scenes but are we really going to ignore that johanna's entire ass recovery arc got left out. like in the movies she's a tortured morphling addict and that's all we get to see of her until the end
They really should have kept the Peeta and Snow scene. It's so powerful, and illustrates even more starkly what a monster Snow is. He looks and sounds like a kindly grandfather but has the mind and heart of a poisonous snake. Here he's talking so reasonably to Peeta, who is successfully hiding how intimidated he feels, but right at the end he chills us to the bone. This scene would have made us feel even more sick when afterward, between this scene and when Peeta is rescued, we see how Snow is starving, torturing, and brainwashing Peeta, whom he had just praised as being reasonable and naturally sincere.
Very much. The new book is interesting. Snow came to understand how dangerous and terrible Dr. Gaul was, but it seems like she also had a big influence on him in the years after the book's ending.
It shows his knowledge that when you allow someone to speak their mind, they share more with you than they would if you went against their thoughts. If you shamed them or shunned them. Shows Snow’s intelligence
there is one scene that should have had made it to the books: the scene in which Katniss recognize Peeta’s cake during Annie and Finnick wedding, and she’s likes: « I recognize the coating, it’s as sweet and beautiful as peeta’s hand, guess there’s still hope about him »
To keep Peeta's motivation for his propo-speeches a mystery to Katniss and the audience. The story is told from 1st person perspective. Katniss did not know what Snow told Peeta to do.
So you're trying to tell me that they only had a limited opportunity to use our precious King Peeta in this movie and they cut one of the scenes that they could use? Umm okay.
I feel like by not adding it, they led the viewer to be surprised in a way, mainly being because this series is written from Katniss’ POV and she had no insight of what was really going to to Peeta, so it would make sense that the audience is oblivious with her
I love the Haymitch and Katniss scene because it shows a glimpse of their communication skills in the book, the way they could almost read each others minds' at some points
Okay I can understand the first three being cut (Katniss entering, Katniss talking to Gale about the cat and getting ahold of district 8) but the rest are so powerful and great to enhance the plot lines. Especially that Peeta/Snow scene.
@@angelgray8899 I doubt there were actual "Final Hunger Games". Paylor (the new President) was all in for peace, equality and justice. I don't think she'd actually make it happen :)
I think they should've added more Finnick scenes. (Especially him in his underwear.. cough cough hello Sam Claflin...) because he was such an important character to Katniss in Mockingjay and we needed more of his sass, loyalty and friendship. It also would've made his death sadder
These scenes are what would draw you in, make it familiar to the book and generally explains the plot and sub plots, why they cut them from the movie is beyond me
Agreed. I also think they should’ve kept the scene with Beetee, Gale, and Katniss because it really shows how different Gale and Katniss think and how they are growing apart.
You can actually see the schedule tattoo on Finnick's arm during the bunker scene, when Katniss is telling him her analogy of the cat chasing the light and how Snow is using Annie and Peeta against them. I thought it was a nice detail.
They soooo should have kept the scene with peeta and president snow bc his granddaughter calling him to ask if she can meet peeta is just GOLDEN and conveys the message of the brainwashed Capitol and their children perfectly
Snow is so intriguing it scares me how much I like the scenes he’s in. Calm, precise, and more intelligent than most. He has all the characteristics of a kind man, but it is precisely that intelligence that hides a deeper self.
I will always be salty about how they didn't add the scenes that showcases Haymitch's love for Peeta, it's such a powerful point in the book. All 3 of them ( + Effie)
remember how effie and other capitol citizens were treated like shit in the books when they came to 13 but it was edited to make effie seem ungrateful? i think about that a lot
It's such a shame that there were so many parts with Beetee that got cut. Besides Wiress, he's my favorite character. Beetee deserves more than just a couple scenes ⚡️
honestly both the mockingjay movies had so much going on the entire time, it was good that they cut out some of these scenes. it's not that they're bad scenes, they just don't help move the plot forward. Stuff like Effie doing Katniss's makeup doesn't give us information about the plot at all, and it takes up valuable screentime, the conversations between Haymitch and Katniss and Snow and Peeta all delivered information that would just arise out of the plot itself naturally later on. It's absolutely fun to watch these extra scenes, but from a movie making perspective, its probably fair that they got cut If anything though, the humming bird sequence with Beetee was extremely cool and did a much better job of showing Gale's more warlike side than the short scene with him and Beetee talking about the dual bomb thing later on did. Oh also its really cool watching Peeta and Snow interact, but I think cutting this scene out was a good idea, it kept the movie focused and helped make Peeta seem completely out of Katniss's reach and in danger. Plus there's something interesting about having personal scenes just between Katniss and Snow, its sort of gives them this unique relationship despite their hatred for each other that the other characters don't have
Am I the only one who finds it difficult to hear what president snows saying? I think it's because I'm paying too much attention to his beard and not what he's saying.
I was always wondering what was happening in the rest of the world in the hunger games universe. Is panem the only country that has survived? Is that why they say the human race could get extinct?
I want to petition a release of the movies with the deleted scenes in them. They may not want to make a 3 hour movie for the theaters, but at home, I’ve already been hanging around at home for 10 months straight. What’s 3 hours?
Right tho? Just like how LOTR has extended versions, and the movies are so long. I'd watch it. This is only an extra 10 mins.. all of this coulda been added.. woulda been nice.
Except for the 1st scene, which had no context, every one of the scenes should be added back in to a "director's cut," which could be five hours long for all I care. I want as much Hunger Games as I can get! What an awesome series!
The moment with Peeta and president snow, and with Katniss and Haymitch, both add so much to the movie but take up I small amount of time.. I wish they were included! One advantage over a movie is that they are not restricted to only Katniss's point of view, and they don't really take advantage of that.
I don't mind the film being 11 mins longer, they should've never deleted these scenes. I mean there's still sense of incompleteness even after they added it but it would be better to show some little to important details in this movie. And the exchange between Beetee and District 8 is so powerful 👏
Peet's having his leg amputated was left off, not that it was acknowledged much threw out the other books just that it was hard to sneak on the enemy cause of his leg making noise.
While I know it might have been a letdown for the reveal of why Peeta attacked Katness, I think it would have been interesting to see his torture and trying to fight against the tracker venom, but show it was not easy for him to resist and he was finally broken
i think they should have included the scenes where gale comes across so calculating and unforgiving, i think it really shows that katniss and him aren't a good match and how 13 isn't all good
Right? I really missed Peeta a lot in that film, he’s my favorite, and I think the reason Johanna was captured in the book is because she would have stolen the show away from Katniss-she’s soooo feisty 😈
I can't find the scene were peeta is in the hospital room and katniss is crying and banging on the glass. 🤔 Is that only in the book cause I swear I've seen it....
I don't think that was filmed, not even as a deleted scene. It was in the first book. Unlike in the movie version, Peeta had been badly injured by the mutt hounds and nearly bled to death before they were lifted out of the arena. The Capitol doctors whisked him away to an operating room, leaving Katniss stuck in another room where she could see but couldn't get out of her room and into Peeta's. That must be what you're thinking of.
Did u mean the part when katniss just looked at him from the mirror glass while peeta is in his mad state on his bed? If yes i think it's the end of mockingjay part 1. Katniss didnt cry or banging on the glass tho...
@@DaraSwandana No, I mean at the end of the first book after Katniss and Peeta are named co-Victors and lifted out of the arena. In the book, Peeta had been badly injured in the leg by a mutt hound and nearly bled to death. The movie changed that, I suppose to simplify the end of the movie. In the book Peeta's heart stopped several times during surgery and he ended up losing the lower part of that leg and had a prosthetic from then on. The movie changed that, so the scene where Peeta is having surgery and Katniss is banging on the door trying to get in is only in the book, not in the movie.
Rowana Forrest nope it wasn’t filmed sadly. yeah the first movie ending seemed a little different than the books. also peeta leg was suppose to be amputated, yet never happened in the movies
That scene with Effie was so impactful, the fact that she said "this is the face of a revolution" shows such character growth. She is taking a clear stance by choosing Katniss over the capitol, despite having been fed their propaganda her whole life. Makes me very emotional
The Peeta and Snow scene was really good, _but_ I feel like if they kept that in, they would have to show how and when Peeta begins to defy Snow, and Snow’s subsequent retaliation towards him using torture - at least the beginnings of it. And I think doing that would have been really interesting, but also would extend the run time of a very long movie. Plus, not letting us see that made us use our imaginations of what the Capitol was doing to Peeta, which can usually conjure something far worse. Plus, taking it out allowed for Peeta to seem just _that_ much more out of reach from us/Katniss
Y’know, for a movie where they straight up added crappy scenes that weren’t in the book to pad the runtime, they sure didn’t have a problem taking out parts that WERE in the books and had much needed casual character moments. From Catching Fire on, I feel they really skimped on trying to do proper adaptations and just wanted to make action movies. Hoping one day HBO or whoever produces a series that does these justice like they did with His Dark Materials, because they really cut out a lot.
08:09, this really shows how the upbringing to the residents of the Capitol forms the to always glamorize and care for the beauty in things that are also serious and dark, soooo Effie. As Ceasar Flickerman says; I LOVE IT!
Why the heck did they delete these scenes, they literally deleted all the scenes from the actual books! WHY TF DID THEY LEAVE OUT BONNIE AND TWILL, LIKE WHY!? The scene with Peeta and President Snow Is NEEedEd In tHE MOviEs! This shows just how much better the books r. I still like the movies tho, just could have been better. Also, I had a fit the other night when Finnick died, even tho I knew it was coming... I ChUCKed mY BOoK AcROSs the room, then felt bad and started hugging it,then got mad a again and threw it into my chair. And I knew Finnick was gonna die. THE HUNGER GAMES R MY FAVORITE BOOKS!
Their some of my favorite books too I have seriously read them 4 times and have watched each of the movies 6 times I think . I know it's so annoying they didn't put Bonnie and Twill in the movie, and in the movie they had the lady in the hob give Katniss the mockingjay pin when in the book madge gave it to her.
Why did they cut the scene between Snow and Peeta it is so powerful. And the scene between Gale, Katniss, and Beatty it was good to. Wheal why don't o just say why did they cut any of them they are all good
Honestly if any scene should’ve made it in, it was the hummingbird room scene with betee, Katniss and Gale. Lots of important plot and thematic stuff that got cut from that scene :/
