I saw them perform 3 times. Nureyev was all fire and wonderful. Incredibly charismatic and he had animal magnetism. Fonteyn a calm, lovely contrast to him but she held her own.
I saw them on stage as a young person and they were magical together. The ballet wasn't the same, and even today that magic is not created by our young enthusiastic dancers. Dancing with heart, soul, love and a soulmate is a different, transportive experience for the dancers and the audience. We miss those transcendent performances. Thank you so much for the beautiful photographs that bring back wonderful memories.

What awesome bodies they both had . That's come with years of dedication and sacrifice. They were a pure art form their bodies making the art. Just wonderful. I'm so happy for her that she had someone who simply adored her. I hope she found love passion and joy with him . She certainly didnt find that with her vile using husband. Shame he didnt die when he was shot .

What a marvellous video..they were pure artists in.love with dance...what a loss ..really...especially in 2021..deprived of every art (theatre, cinemas, concerts,...)
They totally adored each other and were so right for each other - she would calm his troubled moods and he injected new life into her - but tragically they did not manage to marry; something they had both wished. Margot thought that once Tito was paralysed she had to care for him instead. But she and Nureyev stayed deeply in love and in touch all their lives, despite living far apart. They danced together as one person.
