Of the five Lettermen albums that I have with this same song title, this is the version that has a 8-seconds piano intro that sounds like Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

My subject for this video is the ever beautiful Ms. Catherine Deneuve. :)
--
I also thank someone
(you know who you are, my friend)
for sharing with me some of Lettermen photos, a couple which I have used in this video.

Enjoy!

One Saturday night 50 years ago, seems lile yeaterday, we were getting ready to go out for the evening and this came on the radio. Already a few years old I told myself I would remember this night and that song. Well, I did both. You have been gone almost 7 years and I am all alone, as the song says. Just listening to the Lettermen singing brings back memories and I vividly recall that night I told myself I would never forget. I'll never for the night and I'll never forget you my love. RIP LP.

Nothing beats the Original line-up,Jim,Tony and Bob!Next,Jim,Tony and Gary!I wished Jim Tony and Bob had reunited for all their fans throughout the world before Bob died. They should have performed for one last time because for me they were the best ever Lettermen group! No other Lettermen group can beat their perfect harmony! So simple, mellow, hauntingly beautiful! The musical arrangement of the orchestra and song rendition is just perfect. The ff.songs best exemplify the Lettermen sound:The Way You Look Tonight,When I fall in Love,I’ll Be Seeing You,If I Loved You,Where or When,Too Young,Smoke Gets In Your Eyes,A Song for Young Love,Softly,The Wonder of You,Warm,Climb Every Mountain,No Man Is an Island,Valley High,It Happened Once Before,Put Your Head on My Shoulder,Summerplace,You’ll Never Walk Alone and more

On this day in 1961 {September 18th} the Lettermen performed "The Way You Look Tonight" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV weekday-afternoon program 'American Bandstand'... At the time the song was at #44 on Bllboard's Top 100 chart, five weeks later it would peak at #13 {for 1 week} and it also spent 13 weeks on the Top 100... In 1936 the song won the Academy Award for 'Best Original Song', it was featured in the movie 'Swing Time'... And on October 24th, 1936 Fred Astaire's original version of the song peaked at #1 {for 6 weeks} on the Your Hit Parade Singles chart... Between 1961 and 1971 the Lettermen had twenty records on the Top 100 chart; their two biggest hits both peaked at #7, "When I Fall In Love" for 1 week in 1962 and "Goin' Out of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" for 2 weeks in 1968... According wikipedia.com, since 1961 there have been sixteen different members of The Lettermen...

Some day, when I'm awfully low When the world is cold I will feel a glow just thinking of you And the way you look tonight You're lovely, with your smile so warm And your cheeks so soft There is nothing for me but to love you And the way you look tonight With each word your tenderness grows Tearing my fears apart And that laugh that wrinkles your nose Touches my foolish heart Lovely, never, ever change Keep that breathless charm Won't you please arrange it? 'Cause I love you Just the way you look tonight With each word your tenderness grows Tearing my fears apart And that laugh that wrinkles your nose Touches my foolish heart You're lovely don't you ever change Keep that breathless charm Won't you please arrange it 'Cause I love you Just the way you look tonight Tonight
