Thank you all for the 4 million views!! Ya'll are amazing! (I only wrote the Corpse Bride part for those who can't read the beginning of the video or the description) ru-vid.com/group/PLLlOZRZP_74cwrFd7V1YrnO9BPgoTaPBy Here are more things that I've sung!
@@PuzzlePinkdolltuber sometimes it's better to have a sad ending to your love. I know it's heart-breaking, but she just wasn't destined to have her love with her
She DID have a better ending! Didn't you see the movie? She has finally freed from suffering! Freed from depressed! Freed from the cage of love, heading to heavens to see her family again.
Gretel Bronstein I saw the ending. She had let go of everything - making her the BETTER person. All I’m saying is I WISHED she had a wedding with a TRUE love.
@@kitakal3754 i mean after she died she gave up on love but was just obsessed with the idea of being married as in the movie she really was just excited cause of being married her not really cause of ''true love'' (sorry for a late reply)
While I’ve noticed many people suggesting that Emily and Victor should have ended up together, I can’t help but feel they made the right choice. Stories don't always conclude with happy endings, especially in the harsh realities of our world. It’s important to teach children that sometimes what we perceive as « fair » or « destined » simply doesn’t transpire. Emily’s ‘death' liberated her, and a future with Victor was unattainable. Moreover, her affection wasn’t truly directed at him, rather, it was fixated on the idealized image Victor represented. She longed for love for the sake of it. Ultimately, he facilitated her realization of this, allowing her to find peace. I view it as a form of mourning or, perhaps, the abandonment of one’s past-a pivotal step toward progress and embracing new horizons. Apologies if I’m delving too deeply, but I hold this movie dear; it played a significant role in shaping my perspective. Thank you for reading, if you’ve made it this far! ♥ P.S: Beautiful cover.
I agree. Emily as a dead person was stuck in the land of the dead unable to move on. Victor was sketching butterflies without knowing that it was his destiny to free Emily, since Emily turned into butterflies in the end and flew away to heaven/ the light. Victor belongs with Victoria, and his role in the story is to free Emily since he can't bring back the dead, also the living can't marry the dead (he would've had to drink the poison.. it's just wrong). The living belong with the living, and the dead have to move towards the light.. poor Emily was stuck as it seems murdered people linger around and their soul gets stuck until their case is solved. Victor solved her case, brought her justice after the evil man died, and that's the best thing you can do for a dead person. They both got their happy ending.
Also, her death was about someone who was so focused on finding external love, that she never had any for herself. You don't need "true love" or marriage to have a happy ending, you just need to love yourself. Her and Victor wasn't the ending she needed...it was inner peace and self love... She figured out and got what she needed in the end... And honestly I think that's an important message you don't see often. A happily ever after isn't about getting the girl/boy, it isn't about marriage, it's about loving and understanding yourself. It's ok to not end up in love with anyone.
“I will be okay” that’s the most heartbreaking line In the song. I feel so much empathy for Emily it hurts me. She thought she found true love and was going to run away with him. To find that “her true love” had killed her on the spot where she waited “ she had hoped for a true love and her life was taken from her. All her dreams, her ambitions, down the drain. And she became alone. Until victor found her and I can tell how much she truly loved Victor and how greatful she was to him for going as far to try and kill him self to be with her. But he loved Victoria and not truly Her. That’s heartbreaking to think she never had a happy ending and all the pain and sorrow and loneliness she has been through is just awful yet she still found peace is honestly incredible. Corpse bride is my absolute favorite movie just because of the feeling you actually get from Emily. It’s like you can feel her pain and just feel empathy towards her💔
Imsure victoria and victor named their first baby girl emily and im sure she was the reincarnation of emily so it is a happy ending if you look deeper emily wilk always be remembered by victor and victoria and they should make another movie about emily reicarnated
I think she didn't let Victor kill himself, I didn't see the movie and when I went to look and watch a Brides Corpse it wasn't on Netflix! Neither is A Nightmare Before Christmas which is one of my favorites I was so disappointed
@@arandomperson7339 if you have cable you definitely can catch them during Halloween and the nightmare before Christmas during Christmas too I always watch both every year or maybe you can find it online for free
I can’t help but feel like Emily is the most Beautiful Tim Burton character ever. Unlike Sally, Emily didn’t get the guy in the end. Emily is such a talented girl and she has the most beautiful personality. She plays the piano and sings and dances so she’s very artistic just like victor. She was killed in such a horrible way all for money and her jewelry by someone who she thought loved her. She spend years in the Land of the dead lonely and depressed waiting for someone to love her. Finally when Victor came around she finally has someone to love and care for her. I think victor definitely loved Emily more than he showed. In the beginning he was obviously scared of her because she’s dead, but as he slowly got to know her he warmed up to her and loved her. They both have so much in common and in my opinion are the perfect couple. It’s sad how they didn’t end up together but at least Emily got to experience real love with Victor before she passed on to Heaven.
Theory: Emily is Victoria's older sister. She stole the money from her parents. That's why Victoria's parents are broke. Emily was a free spirit-- playing piano and going out at all times of the day. That's why the Everglots don't let Victoria play piano or seem "improper". I dunno, I'm just thinking. Anyways, maybe Victoria was abroad at a young age to separate her from Emily in their parents last stitch attempt to keep Emily from influencing Victoria.
Or perhaps Emily was Victoria’s aunt since the man who killed her was much older when he deceived for a second time. I would think we would have seen a portrait of Emily in the family’s hall though.
@Mr Magic Monkey they couldn't place him. They knew him from somewhere because they couldn't tell if he was a family member or not. They knew him from SOMEWHERE but just couldn't put their finger on it.
I started crying, especially at; "My dreams were slain My face was stained, With memories of my pain". ( I'm not an emotional person, it takes a lot for me to cry, this is a masterpiece)
Yeah same until I think of my love life I don't care if im 12 I still know how to love, I gave up on my crush because my friend liked him and got together with him and my other friend liked him so I completely gave up on him for them, the first one lasted for three days and then my other friend they're still dating Honeslty whenever I think about it I'm completely heartbroken even now im crying Edit:Figured out my crush was a total douchebag who probably would've raped me lol
_“My dreams were slain_ _My face was stained_ _With memories of pain”_ _This part really fills me with sadness, the story of Emily, her death, his love for Victor..._
Emily's story is truly sad, and yet she covers it up as best as she can. shes still as beautiful as she was when she was alive, even if we dont know what she looked like. victor seemed to fall for her, especially in the piano duet they had. both were happy once they both started playing. victor almost drinking the poison was also a sign he loved her. emily wasnt selfish and let him have victoria, which is a sign of her love for him. its truly bittersweet how she lets him have her, which is why i love her so much.
“My dreams were slain” “My face was stained” “With memories of my pain” “But peace still came I’ll give” “Him the same” “I will be Okay” These lines are so sad and tempting...💔
I feel so much sadness for Emily. It was proven that she was buried alive. Remember Barkus (sp?) Said: but I left you! Emily replied quietly: for dead. And a single arm was out of the ground.that's why her left arm is bone. It was affected by all the elements much faster than the rest of her body.
Both movies they're perfect even if I didnt get to watch corpse bride because it was too late when I went to watch it on Netflix, I still think its perfect either way
"This is wrong. I was a bride, my dreams were taken from me. Well now... now I've stolen them from someone else. I love you, Victor. But you're not mine."
interesting. I wonder what the original lyricist and composer, Danny Elfman, would say. I'd like to think that they'd respect it as a lovely homage to their work! beautiful video!!
Listening to Sally & Emily's voices gives the impression that they were best friends or related in life. The singing is almost like hearing them air out their grievances at the world.
Honestamente la única parte de la canción que puedo pronunciar correctamente es la Sally, y me encanta, aunque la parte de Emily es conmovedora, amo está canción ❤
I love this Medley. It makes me feel bad for both Sally and Emily. I feel like Sally's song helps with Emily's story. If Emily wasn't murdered, I bet Emily and Victor would have made a cute couple.
I believe that when it says “what is this a painful twist, is this a bitter kiss?” it is when she realizes that she will not be able to be with Victor because she sees how happy he is with victoria. Next with “there is so much life left in his eyes, it should not end like this” she is saying he should not have to end his life while he has so much left in it. “My dreams were slain, my face was stained with memories of my pain” she expresses the pain and anguish she has gone through. “But peace still came, I’ll give him the same, and I will be okay.” This one shows that she still had peace and would be okay so she would let him have the same peace she always wanted. This is an amazing song that fits right in with the movie and would make even the most hard person cry.
Damn. People over here crying over Emily (and they are absolutely right to do so, i do everytime I think about her story) and I'm over realizing that victor and Victoria had the same names after 13 years
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way in darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine. :v
The fact that corpse bride is based of a russian legend where the living bride promised the dead one to get her dreams come true and to get children for both of them and burried her bones near a lake made it even more beautiful🥰
Old animations really were better than now...more deep and meaningful. Such a beautiful song, i watched that animation when i was so young and i didn't get the meaning but now i fully understand the animation.
@@patriciaanderson8200 mabye the meaning of love. Because most of animations are about love between different people like siblings or parents and couples. I couldn't understand the real meaning of love or sacrifice for your loved ones when i was young too but now i do.
It's not that it was better it's simply very different. Nightmare before Christmas and Corpse bride are both stop motion animation movies just like Coraline, which is also amazing.
TRUE she wanted him more and understood, supported and believed in him way more Victoria who was FORCED into a marriage with him when Emily actually CHOSE HIM JUST FOR BEING HIMSELF. Victoria kinda had to like him since they were in an arranged marriage but Emily got her feelings with love at first sight so she actually cared and loved him WAY MORE than Victoria. Tbh, Victor didn’t appreciate Emily enough
@@myawagner9250 actually upon first hearing Victor play the piano and seeing him, Victoria seemed to have taken a liking at first sight. that scene when Victor and Victoria met was actually very sweet in its awkward entirety. (not only that but she was a demure but also curious girl adhering to strict Victorian societal rules regarding to the role of a woman to be proper). Victor is clumsy, idealistic, imperfect, passionate-- everything she was raised not to be and it undoubtedly charms her. She abandoned everything she was ever taught about being a proper lady when she climbed out the dang window with a quilt into a thunderstorm because she was worried for Victor, she obviously cared for him. Emily chose Victor? Not really.. she's just wanted to be married at the start (considering the circumstances of her death and the fact that she's a romantic..) and would have wedded anyone who stumbled upon her branch and put a ring on it. That isn't to say that she did not love him. it did start as an infatuation kind of love though and grew into proper love (as she was willing to let him go at the end.) I do agree with you on one thing though. That Emily was not appreciated enough by Victor and that his heart, while undoubtedly involved with her (I do not deny that he harbored some love for Emily), was tied to Victoria.
Mya Wagner Emily didn’t choose him it was an accident at first... that’s what the whole story is about I’ve watched it 2 times in the last two days maybe you forgot a part just saying you might want to rewatch it
I’m actually somewhat okay with the ending of Corpse Bride. It’s a twist from most movies showing that there always isn’t a happy ending for all. Sure I do cry thinking about Emily and at times I do really wish she ended up with Victor, but something about it just didn’t seem fully right, and Emily realized this which is why she gave up her love so Victor and Victoria could share the dream that was brutally taken from her. In the end though, I’m glad she was able to get closure and finally be free, and show that in reality the right choices aren’t always the easiest ones.
My favourite bit is at 02:55 Corpse bride, My dreams were slain, My face was stained by memory's of my pain, But peace still came,I'll give him the same I will be okay... But also all of the Corpse Bride lyrics
Laaapoi Art they were having a run away marriage when her fiance killed her for her money and she came back to life when a man said his wedding vows and "married her" but he was in love with another human and not the corpse bride so she went into the light and passed on so he can live happily married with his human love hope this helps i tried to sum it up without giving away anything :3
to think after 7 years a song from a little creator I followed in my first year of high school now has 14 million views... Tricky its beautiful that after so long your work is still as mesmerizing as ever.
mmwyatt73 everyone could see Emily was Victor's true love. Emily had so much more in common with him whereas Victoria did not. And it is not a happy ending at all. Emily, yes, was freed but think of Victor's family and Victoria's. The parents had them wed for money. They thought that the family had money and both of them were wrong so both were broke.
NothingButInsanity ___ i like to imagine when he dies he is with her again because victor becomes jack from nightmare before christmas according to tim burton and sally is a soul put into a doll and then jack and sally realize they are meant to be so i like to think victor and emily get reunited as it was meant to be :3
If you think about it is really sad for emily like she was killed on the day she was going to run away with her loved one in her wedding gown!! She really hoped for her special day like any other person would when they would be engaged to the person they love the most ( sorry i just wanted to point this out :P)
*[EMILY'S LYRICS CORPSE BRIDE]* Under a tree at quarter three I had some hope in me but life was taken from me And I did not feel peace I made a vow within my gown that life will come to me but there he is and suddenly I feel free I adore him. What is this? A painful twist is this a bitter kiss? There's still so much life left in his eyes it shouldn't end like this My dreams were slain my face was stained with memories of my pain. My peace still came I'll give him the same I will be okay And Will we ever end up together No I think not It's never to become For I am not the one...
Before I wrote this comment I din't see corpse bride so I did that night yeah night. Kill me XD but as i saw this song is a little more lie than the movie the movie is sad but doesn't focus on the story so much on Emily or what she was named I don't remember how to write it but yes it's a song about her but it's more just skeletons dancing atlest I didn't get it the first time I saw it when I was six. I said I haven't seen it but it's long ago so I didn't remember much but atleast I yes her story is the same as this song but this makes it sound more sad . Sorry corpse bride ultra fans
Story time! Deep in the graveyard, you might see something strange there... Some say that its a monster some say its a zombie. They are both wrong. Its a betrayed, undead girl, fell for a charmers spell and believed it was love. She believed she was happy. If only she saw through his lies, then her poor, unworking heart wouldn't hurt so much... But she didn't, and so she stayed with him for two years before she met her end. A knife to the heart in her white silk nightgown. Now she dances In the graveyard, crying silver tears, as she mourns her youth. If you should see her, don't throw anything, don't yell, don't scream. Just watch or dance with her so she knows she's not alone. And somewhere, someone cares and knows her story...
Emily is one of the most selfless characters in a kids movie I've ever seen. She lived a mediocre life just dreaming of the day when she would be free from the life she was living and wed her one true love. Then when she finally found a man she thought loved her as much as she loved him he murdered her in cold blood for nothing more than her jewels. And when she found Victor all he wanted to do was leave her for another woman. And when he finally agreed to marry her properly and kill himself to be with her she sees Victoria and decides to give Victor up because she couldn't bring herself to take away the dreams of another woman like hers had. She truly deserved better and is such a beautiful character in every way. Wish her story could've ended happier but at least she's forever happy and in peace in heaven. Sally is a beautiful character too but could never imagine the kind of pain Emily went through. After all, Sally got her man and pretty much became the queen of Halloween town, Emily only wanted a good life with her love and didn't even get that. But both are still amazing characters.
She was married to him by force by her parents who were under false accusations of him being rich, with his and I quote. "If I had a woman like her, I would be lathering her in riches befitting royalty" "But alas, I am not married. I was betrothed some years ago, but tragidy snatched my young bride away." This gave the impression to her parents that he was rich when, in truth, he used it as an excuse to GET rich off them instead and he thought he would benefit off Victorias "riches" the same way he did with Emilys. By murder. Double the price basically. Both were broke and he got pissed off, planned to practically hold her ransom and probably was going to kill her, wife or not.
Tigermykittycat 2018 :/ ye Sally's story isn't that bad as Emily's but I think that Sally deserved to feel as sad for as Emily cause they both got a happy ending anyway and ALSO Sally has always been dead so she was alive once (Well if she actually is created in Halloween town but I don't believe that ) So Sally might have almost as sad story
Isla Esmeralda Contreras Calderon hang in there sweetie, there's a soulmate for everyone, don't stop believing because I believe you'll find them one day 😘
Theory: before the death Sally and Emily could have been friends Sally was taken apart de_contructed for being a which "Jack I had a vision" a phrase sally said in nightmare before Christmas that means she had psychic abilities and emotions by creating that science dude means helped she was killed by mobsters in the 1800 for being a which
I've got another theory about these movies: Jack Skeleton and Victor are the same person. Both of them are very thin and very tall and also have a dog. Then I think The Corpse Bride reflects when Jack and Zero (the ghost dog) were alive. On the contrary, Nightmare Before Christmas reflects when they died. Just think about it...
In Emily's last lyrics What is this? A painful twist (I can see this being when barkis stabs her) Is this a bitter kiss (Barkis giving her a kiss as she lie dying) There's so much life left his eyes (she sees him still alive able to walk away from it all) It should not end like this (Her dying) Emily was and will always be my favorite. Wish they did a movie on her wether it be animation or actual film My face was stained (Her coughing up blood getting it on her face)
I’ve never thought about it that way, I always thought of it as the part where victor was about to drink the potion that would kill him and he was the one with life in his eyes, etc. But I think this goes better with the lyrics
Can I play this at a Halloween party this year. I really want me and one of my friends to dress up as Sally and Emily. I will make sure this plays when we walk in!
I found your video here purely be accident, and it is so haunting. I keep watching it over and over. It is such a lovely video. So sad and painful, yet beautiful at the same time. I only with that Emily had a whole song to herself that told her backstory.
Me to come over and get you to be a difficult few days ago but never did it work with the kids to the hospital and she said hi baby girl is home to get a ride home from work to get a ride home from school and the kids to the 🏥 and she has no one else can you please send me the I love you too baby girl is home and get it for you hug me and you know how to get ice cream and sugar and butter and sugar ttuuu 🐢🐣🐤🐥🐢🐭
I always did get a Tim Burton vibe from your videos. An aura of artistry and somberness (a good kind) always emanates from your covers and even some of your darker fusion videos. Good job!
0:33 - starting with Sally (I scenes there’s something in the wind) 1:25 - Emily (Under a free at quarter three) 2:04 - Sally (What will become of my dear friend) 2:37 - Emily (What is this?) 3:12 - Sally and Emily (And will we ever) Edit: I hope this helps a little! Love this song!
Every time I listen to this I cry. It’s so beautiful but you can feel the emotion in the song. I really wish they had released this for Spotify so I could actually add it on my playlist. Awesome job with the song.
theory: jack and sally are emily's parents and they killed themselves because they wanted to be with emily, but they when they died they forgot about eachother
This song sounds like Sally's part is like right before things go wrong. Emily's part sounds like the very end, after everything fell apart to reveal something new. I love how they echo eachother like two halves of different story's that fit together to create a new one!
"I had some hope in me" "but life was taken from me" "My dreams were slain" "My face was stained with memories of my pain" It was sad knowing Emily died thinking she was in love I feel sad for her but at last she found peace 😢
This made me feel purely crestfallen, especially at the end. Not only did I grow up with these movies, but this song is something I can relate to deeply: I have a friend, and I've known him for about 3 years now. It wasn't always happy memories. He's made me laugh, but also hurt my feelings, scared me, and make me feel the most worry and pain I've ever felt another human being. I fell in love with him. It wasn't just a crush, and I didn't want to be with him to make more happy memories, I want to be there for him as the best support I could be, and to try and make him laugh and be there when he's down. But, one day he had a random conversation with his friend and they were chatting about girls, and he said he didn't see us ever being together. I felt heartbroken for awhile, because I'd probably never be the one who captured His heart, and decided to never confess. Since then he has a girlfriend, and they seem to fit very well for each other. I still love him the same way, and still want to be there for him until death do we part. He is not mine, and probably never will be, but even then he's the one who has my heart. I'll love him forever no matter if his happily ever after involves me or not❤
I have told every person I know who has a love for both "The Corpse Bride" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas" about this song. They all love it. It is so beautiful, my friend and I sung it for open mic night at our college. Long story short I did a lot of promotion for this song! :)

I think it's not to be Emily: Under a tree at quarter three, I had some hope in me My life was taken from me, but I did not feel peace I made a vow within my gown that love will come to me but there he is and suddenly I had been found I adore him Sally: What will become of my dear friend Where will his actions lead us then? This song only enhances how sad Emily's backstory is. She was killed by a man she loved and trusted before she had the chance to have kids or realize that her man was evil.
Cassia Reyes the man that killed Emily is Lord burkis or barkis, and he married Victoria, and he was gonna kill her to. It makes me feel bad for Emily.😭😭😭😭
"There's so much life left in his eyes, it should not end like this" The way this perfectly captures the moment where Emily realized that Victor still had a long life ahead of him and didn't want him to give it all up so soon and chose to find peace in accepting who she was in end instead and freeing herself 😭💔
Been chasing this guy I’ve loved for 7 years and the last time I’ve seen him was the last I’ve ever heard from him. He said he loved me and would be with me one day but the days always went by and now listening to this makes me wish I was with him though I know I’m not the one..
Jessica Mace Ball If your musically gifted and not deaf you can clearly hear through the auto tune. she is a very beautiful singer. So maybe take a glad or two and all you take people will understand this girl is talented
This lovely song I haven’t listened to it in a couple of years. Listening to it again makes me feel nostalgic. Including, it makes me think of a character from my story that was in a lovely relationship with her girlfriend. She was happy. She was filled with joy. Until one day she was struck down and brutally murdered by a man who was jealous. She couldn’t do anything but watch from above as her girlfriend was forced into a relationship with that man, forced to do things she didn’t want to do. Once the girlfriend was free, the girlfriend found someone else to love upon, another girl. Filled with the same peace and love that she once was with her old girlfriend. The lyrics “And will we ever end up together? No I think not. It’s never to become. For I am not the one.” Made think of the character watching as her old girlfriend was recovering from her abusive relationship with her old boyfriend and moved on, starting a family with her next girlfriend. While being happy for her, deep down, she felt shattered and broken down, as that could of been her.
