This is an arrangement of the Top Floor area BGM from Konami's 2003 GBA game Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. I have arranged it for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES console.
Like with a couple other Castlevania tunes I've done, I really liked this gothic dance-style track, but the Game Boy Advance's audio quality didn't do the composition many favors. I wanted to give it a bit of a refresher, so here it is on hardware that (hopefully) can do it a bit more justice.

With Halloween being tomorrow, it seemed only right to offer up a bit of Castlevania for the holiday. Hope you like the arrangement!

This song and the game hold a very special place in my heart. It was the first Castlevania game I ever owned and I bought it because of Ayami Kojima's artwork and the blurb on the back of the box that read, "The First Castlevania of the Future!" (IIRC), which was intriguing to say the least. At the time I was the same age as the protagonist and remember being absorbed in the mysterious storyline and wonderful gameplay of exploring the castle, finding new items and defeating fun giant bosses. I became hooked on completing the bestiary and getting all the souls, and must have spent hours upon hours just looking through all the entries, which were animated. The Peeping Eye is still one of my all-time favorite enemies to watch moving around, lol. Also, karate maids forever!

Same thing happened to me but with dawn of sorrow and the pinnacle (the songs are parallel in a way), I also liked the fact that Soma is exactly 10 years younger than me (obviously I'm 16)
