⚓🛳️Today we check into the Holiday Inn, in Southampton, which is metres away from the City Cruise Terminal.
🚗Parking here is £15 per night.
🪟🛳️Our room number was 601, so on the 6th floor with the category being standard harbour view.
👎🍽️So the restaurant!! I ordered the “Classic Beef Lasagne” this is something I often eat when I’m out and about and while it was perfectly edible, it tasted like no Lasagne I’d eaten before, maybe just the herbs the cook had used.
👎🍕But the biggest issue was my husband's “Hand Made Pizza” well it looked like the cheapest readymade supermarket pepperoni pizza you’ve ever seen and an overcooked one at that!! He ate about half, but it was pretty inedible. The waitress asked if everything was ok and we told her our thoughts on the pizza and she just took the plates away. The cheque was for the full amount, so £16 for a poor show of a pizza and over £50 in total. 👎👎👎👎
👎💷We just paid what was due (no tip) and left. We won’t be eating there on future stays.
💜💜Regardless of the negatives which the high price is one, we loved our stay there, the comfy bed, the proximity to the cruise terminal we were sailing from and the view from the window. We will stay there again and have in fact booked a stay for our next cruise.
