Hi Greg! Thank you so much for your videos. It has been very helpful for me since I started watching your videos. One thing I have learned is that learning English as a second language is a commitment no matter how long it would be. My problem is that I want to learn a lot and that put too much stress for my brain to cope with. Well, I hope this make sense. Anyway, I am going to start applying all your techniques to how to learn English properly and more efficient. Again, thank you!

Thanks for your daily quick fix. I find it crucially important to meet Foreign English speakers and speak English. When you are surrounded only by your relatives, friends and coworkers you cannot practice your English. Yesterday when I was coming back from the city, I ran into Pakistan students on the bus. Without any further ado, I started striking up conversation and it went all smoothly. We only spoke English and I came to conclusion that the more we meet, the better we get. I am planning to see them again and start using English actively. I love speaking English in public. I appreciate your tips. Thumbs up! Cheers!

While during watching your videos, I use translation into my original language. Do you recommend that or not, because honestly, without translation, I cannot understand everything you say and I want to learn more quickly ,During watching the 9-minute clip it takes me to 25 minutes, because I listen again to some words that I do not understand. So I use the translation feature to understand well. With all respectful & regards 🌺🌺🤗

Greg, is your english common or you talk simplistically for us? (love your work)
@cavesalamander6308
@cavesalamander6308 Год назад
AFAIUI all teachers use simplified pronunciation without contractions, slang, and many phrasal verbs. When I read English frequency dictionary I start to see several unknown words only after ~15 000 words. But I don't understand movies, songs, etc. Understanding of academic lectures is much better (who knows why). 🙂

Hi Diana. I always try to speak as clearly as possible when I'm speaking in public, and this is especially true when my main audience is using English as a Second Language. 😀

@@cavesalamander6308 Для того, чтобы болтать по-английски, как учит Грэг, достаточно 300 слов.
@cavesalamander6308
@cavesalamander6308 Год назад
@@KraterStromboli "Болтать" (ни о чем) - да. Говорить (содержательно) - нет. В моем случае основное препятствие - отсутствие практики и ежедневной необходимости именно говорить и слушать. В реальной языковой среде я бы начал "болтать" через неделю-другую.
@KraterStromboli
@KraterStromboli Год назад
@@cavesalamander6308 А "содержательно" говорить скороговоркой, невнятно, сжимая и недоговаривая? Все эти "гона", "вана" и другие лигатуры... В содержательном разговоре спешить некуда. А с активным словарным запасом в 10000 слов Вы уделаете любого такого "Грэга". Обычные "носители" языка имеют в активе не более 1000-1500 слов ("уличная" ситуация - 300). Посмотрите фильм "My Fair Lady" (1964). Там все это интереснее, чем у Грэга.
