From the latest patch notes: "Technology modules are now filtered out from the list when selecting items to process in a refiner, as these can never be refined." This was under the Quality of Life fixes!

Yeah, i guess thats it for me on NMS. Like you said "ive done by time" as well. The game is a casual game, I log in for new expedition, pimp out new ship or multi tool and then log out till next expedition. but if i have to grind out upgrades for every new item....well i guess im done.

This is a really stupid change in a 99% single player game with enough grind already. I guess it was only a matter of time until they did something this. Really makes me question if I'll buy Light No Fire at all now.

So instead of fixing refiner on top of each other, they did this.

Noticed first day as I was preparing for expedition. I almost didn’t play the expedition because of it. You can still duplicate memory fragments and glass for nanite harvesting.

Bit of a workaround, duplicate stacks of suspiscious tech and arms things and open them for black market stuff. Not as good as the normal way, but makes things a bit easier.

Hello Travelers, maybe there is a way to do it, just don't have try it finally. So take the way with the personal refinery. Go in your personal inventory and there drag and drop the mod in to your personal refinery. The Mod is in the refinery. Hope this helps. Then go the normal procedure

I duped upgrades to sell back for nanites and if I found the S class upgrade i was looking for. Jumping a hundred times to find one hyperdrive S class mod is not fun. Find one, dupe twice to kit the ship, dupe a hundred more times to get nanites. Can’t do that anymore. I know it was cheating, but this isn’t a competitive game. I hate grinds. This is just a big fat disappointment.

Someone needs to call Hello Seans and tell them we need all the help we can get when everything on the game takes so long! They need to implement raiders on foot on planets too! Or make some planets be entirely hostile to us sometimes, like makenit random that some planets have hostile settlers and settlements with the actual korvax the Gek and Vy'Keen are all totally hostile to you on foot and in the air and in space and some planets also can be totally hostile with sentinels too so you can be bombarded by sentinels AND other races 😆 they should make it so the alien races can summon mechs and vehicles too so they chase after you wherever you go and add real challenges! They can even go underwater with the sub too! They need to make a real threat that is nearbthe center of the galaxy loke in spore and they're a real alien species that are scary like the thargoids on elite dangerous and have super weird tech and weapons, theyvuse drones too but we never see them on foot atleast i guess not anyway hello could make this weird super hostile alien race not only fight in space immediately after spotting you but they can come down in the planet and land if you land and keep fighting! They should do that with all hostiles.. mayber some day we will have some of that kind of action.

I do exactly the same thing you do Traveler. And yeah, it came as a shock to me too. Had I known this before starting Omega it sure would have made a difference in my choices for my goody box. I'm on Phase 5 now so hopefully not too far to go though it has been a slog in many cases with quite a few glitches and differences. For those that have trouble finding the Rendezvous Points, go back to the previous Rendezvous Space Station and the next Rendezvous system will be shown when you use the Galaxy Map. Took me a while to figure this out when the Rendezvous markers just disappeared and the scan showed target mode not available. And BTW, X creates the packages on PC. ;-) I have around 5500 hours and 100% completion (plus other stuff that doesn't count like visiting all 256 galaxies) in the game and honestly, if I have to play the purchase and look game for every upgrade, I will be done with NMS. Finding 1 in a hundred (or more) is just too rare to be worthwhile and brain numbing to boot.

This is... an interesting way to balance gameplay vs glitches being canonical.

im more like a legit player and i havent really duped anything in my main save but i have found a quicksilver dupe in the new expedition! basically you just claim the atlas staff, reject it and click cancel. you can claim it again now as often as you want, giving you 1.2k quicksilver every time! :D

Duplicating ai fragment is still working but the upgrades for ship is no longer working

You can dupe ship parts for now. I suggest everyone get as much a possible ahead of time, before NMS remove this ability

same on PC what i do is this : 1. I'm starting an expedition 2. and if i get there and can get into the space anomaly and have the nanits i get a copy of my ship and multi tool (with the best mods in it) 3. if you finish the expedition and have the staff and new ship, make sure you transfer the mods from your copy ship and multi-tool to the new ship and staff 4. and go back to the main save in space anomaly and if you there you can copy the staff and the new ship with the best mods in your main save , and than get back to the expedition and if you end the expedition you can put mods with you , so you get out the best on you want have out your multi tool and ship and get back to the normal save in space anomaly and you have kinda an extra copy ^^ (I'm not English, I hope this makes sense ^^)

Yes, I noticed tech modules can't be.. the main thing I used it for.. got sick of going through hundreds to find a good one. Very happy thought to finally get the quad pet (unlocks in tier 4 of expedition community scans). after I had just used a cheat to access them... same for sand worm, finally cheated one into my save then found it unlocks next in expedition. I have freighter base design down to an art at this point.. everything right near the entrance.. Did a video if interested (compact Freighter base).

when you like to have a lot of ships… it’s gonna be pretty difficult to have them all max out… no fun at all

when you have 10 to 12 ships…. it’s takes wayyyyyyyy to long to have them all maxed out… 😔

Not a duper myself, don't even have any mods installed, so doesn't really affect me. It's not a competitive game so if people want to dupe I say let em.

Consider using a save editor. You can put whatever mods you want, and there is a speadsheet floating around with all the best mods for each item in the game.

I hope this is temporary, i really like to explore on NMS, grinding resources or tech is not on my to-do list. I'm custom mode forever. That bug was really nice for those who only have a few hours per week to play

Yeh it happened to me so I had to get the salvaged scrap yellow and duped them to 50 but its a pain but still better than buying them individually.

I wish they had more recipes, to be honest..

I used to use the save editor to max everything. But I haven't played NMS in June of 23. So I don't know about the new mods and ships.

i thought something was wrong when i was duping stuff for my expedition box

Buy some scrap modules yellow dupe them to 50 and then dupe as many as u want its random but u will get one of the 3 technology , then its just a case on doing loads until u get wat u want so each time iam pulsing to a planet I open as many as I can. Hope it helps.

So with the large refiner and medium refiner dupe glitch doesn't work?

You cant dupe the Starship expansion modules either, but you can duplicate the Multi-tool expansion modules, which is a bit wierd.

Yeah..... no tech dupes on xbox. If they keep it that way they need to make good tech easier to get.

The Dupe got fixed for tech related staff .... Good thing is i have already my 12 Ships one Interceptor has to go that i will change for the Omega Ship

February 16 2024, 1900 hrs CST I just duped a few Chromatic Metals for the Expedition. Worked fine.

You can still dupe mods.

Honestly none of this matters to me I use a save editor so none of this is going to affect me but hey it's good that they're patching unintended exploits for anyone who is not using any mods or any cheating software because the game does need to be running without any bugs

Keep in mind it is a glitch, a game exploit. It is cheating, and i do it too, but it is not a feature. So the devs are fixing it by taking away the glitch. It sucks for us, but they have been trying to fix this for years. There have been many diffent ways to dupe in the past, and they have gone away.

The thing here is that is was a secret out lout, at the time it became popular they cut it, thats why other streamers never mentioned this before even knowing, coz it breaks the game, and new players must experience how it was pretendet to be and not how a crazy guy duplicating even the game for playing for free. This was clearly gonna happen🎉 Just wanna say that i duplicated stasis farms and i have the maximum money... for twice at least. This lost the fun, but i played over 500 and i am end game since i cant remember, so...
