Cathy on Skincare im scare to try this because cosrx bha blackhead power liquid dont work for me im scare if this paula choice might irritated my oily skin
@@CathyonSkincare Hi Cathy! Can I use Cerave Renewing SA Cleanser, Cerave Facial AM Moisturizing Lotion, and The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension with Paula's Choice BHA Exfoliant?
If you’re thinking of buying this product. DO IT. All I do at night is wash my face, put this on, and moisturize, and my skin is GLOWING. Omg, holy grail. Do it.
same here, it didn’t help much with my textured skin and i can’t use it that often because my skin is so sensitive, please tell me if you find any other or better products for your skin to help with the texture ✌🏾
I am 13 years old with sensitive/ oily skin can I use this? I’m afraid it might irritate my skin, my mum always tells me I shouldn’t use products bc my skin is still young and sensitive
@@laralara3756 bruh my mom told me this too, it’s simply not true. Some chemicals r made for our skin to get better. It depends on ur skin type and what products would go with it. Keep this in mind, some all natural things can be bad for ur skin as well. At ur age, it’s good to start, try to convince ur mom and much as you can.
just had to make a comment on this because I’m shocked at how well this worked. results came literally like the next day. all throughout my teenage years my blackheads on my nose and chin have been AWFUL,, it was so weird seeing myself with such clear skin. game changing
HI, I bought this product 2 weeks back and have been using it every other day but haven't seen much difference!!! I have blackheads on my nose and chin and would like to get rid of them. I apply moisturizer 2 minutes after applying this product and get really sweaty. Is there something wrong the way am using it???
@@aeliyafatima5431 I would recommend asking a professional but in my opinion you should pair this with Cerave salicylic acid cleanser first which has helped my blackheads a lot, use the Paula’s choice as a toner, let it sit and sink in, then apply your moisturizer. This product has worked for me but I will say I don’t find it works if I use it too often, i don’t use it everyday. if ur acne and blackheads r rly bad id recommend getting something with retinol too, i also use the cerave one 💪 however it’s pretty harsh on ur skin and does cause peeling to get rid of the blackheads and acne, so be aware of that!!
This stuff is incredible, I’ve always had issues with dry skin, bumps and black heads on my face no word of a lie after 2 DAYS my skin was clearing up so noticeably already and I was going to pay a doctor 370$ to see what was wrong my skin because it was affecting my life and I had spent 1000$ of dollars on skin care to try and fix my skin, I used this only TWICE and my skin hasn’t looked so good in almost in a year
Great video ✨ personally for my skin I couldn’t mix paulas choice bha with the ordinary niacinamide + zinc serum. I noticed that my skin was still breaking out and it seem to be getting worse. But when I used the bha at night and the niacinamide serum in the morning my skin started clearing up really nice
@@yoongikookie4968 really? i'm glad i knew that since i ordered the paula's choice toner from amazon and was about to add it into my pm skincare routine, that has niaincinimide
Omg! Me too. I thought i am the only one who have a problem with layering this product and TO niacinamide. Especially because i have sensitive skin. I'd rather use this product for night and TO niacinamide for morning, and it works!
i used, cerave cleanser, paulas choice, vitamin e serum and moisturiser with spf in the morning and at night i use, cerave smoothing cleanser, niacinamide at night ..... is this ok?
I don’t have dark spots so can’t comment on that specifically. I did have blotchy red skin and I do feel that this has drastically improved. The only change to my routine is this product so I put it down to that :)
i just got this product in the mail today! i got the mini version and it came to like $12CAD and free shipping! i’m super excited to try it i’ll keep y’all posted
UPDATE: i’m loving this product so far. i had pimples and red bumps on my forehead that were really bothering me, but they’re all going away/fading and it looks the best it has in a while. i also had some blemishes around my mouth area that are fading too. i’ve been using it every two nights after cleansing. i don’t moisturize after applying it because my skin feels hydrated enough, i moisturize in the mornings instead. i am noticing some dryness on my cheek area around my nose. i think my skin is ready to move up to every other night, so i’ll try that and see how it goes. it’s important to remember though that i haven’t been using it long enough to definitively give my opinion on it. it could be a coincidence that my skin is looking better, it could be from something else and not this product. i’ll come back in a few weeks with more updates. but so far so good!
This is my 2nd purchase of the 30mL size and I love the result. But I waited at least 10 minutes before I use the next product (which in my case is a vitamin C) so it absorbed completely without messing with the exfoliant’s pH. As result is my face pH becomes lower and the vitamin C absorbs better. *don’t forget the spf!!!!*
omg thanks for this i was trying to find a comment because i want to use my vitamin c after this but i was scared if it wasn’t gonna work. has it helped your skin ?
I love this product. Super anti inflammatory, no stinging or burning, and helps tremendously with acne/congested pores. I have rosacea and hormonal acne. Yesterday I had a flare up from getting dermaplaned and this calmed my skin so much that today when I woke up my skin looked amazing/way less red. Will 100% keep purchasing this product. Esthetician approved
@@fahmizaraminahossain7305 I got it in my gratis since I work at Sephora, about 3 weeks ago? It’s been great for my skin! It’s not drying at all, it’s actually really hydrating. It gives your skin an insane glow. Not drying at all like most BHA products. I’m combo/dry so I love that it balances my skin but doesn’t dry me out. Highly recommend this to anyone dealing with acne/uneven texture/dead skin cell buildup
I love that you addressed the debate going on about Ph levels- I usually just use niacinamide at night and bha during the day because of that. I mean who knows?!?
In chem II, I learned that when mixing a strong base with a weak acid it forms a strong base still but it will fluctuate briefly (same with strong acid and weak base). So I think with both being acidic and the BHA formula being lower in pH (more acidic) it should still do its job especially if you give time for each product to get soaked into the skin before applying the next skincare product.
I was looking for an answer to how to layer this product (especially with niacinamide) just a few days ago! You must read minds 😊 thank you for this video it was really helpful! Your editing and personality give me nice vibes~ 🥰
I've been using this product for the last 2 years. It's amazing. I have a 7 step skin care routine I do every night and I've noticed that when my skin is more dry during winter, the toner and BHA exfoliant together makes my skin even more dry in certain places. I'm going to try waiting a while in-between applications and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice!
I have been using Paula's Choice for few weeks and layering it with acure serum which has niacinamide without any waiting. I hv been breaking out less and post acne marks appear better. I think layering serum right away is not affecting the efficiency of the Paula's Choice and i can feel my skin is getting better with combination of these two.
I was not a fan at first. I felt that it didn’t do much, and it made me purge. I kept using it anyway, and I am so glad. It has helped my acne scars and has evened out my skin tone. It even makes my pores look smaller! I only use it once a week because my skin is sensitive and gets dry very easily.
It’s hard to say how long my skin purged for since I was so inconsistent at the beginning. I would use it on and off, so I think that’s why my skin couldn’t get accustomed to it at the beginning. I absolutely love this product now though. It has probably made the biggest difference in my skin out of everything I’ve ever used.
Y’all tell me how I went to Sephora and I bought this product but what I didn’t know is that I bought the bigger version of it and not the mini one 💀 so when she rung me up on the register I was so embarrassed to say I had gotten the wrong one so I just swallowed my pride and continued with the purchase 💀😂😂😂 ya can laugh at me it’s okay😭💀
BRUH this happened to me yesterday bahahaha it said it was $11 and when i went to the register she said it was $32 and i was like huh but i bought it anyways 💀
I’ve not been able to clear my skin at all, used inkey list bha, niacinimides, inkey list salicylic cleanser and nothing seems to get rid of my blackheads and whiteheads. Ordered this and am so excited to see if it works! It will really boost my confidence if it works x
I also didn't purge and saw results within 1 week of using. I use Cetaphil daily cleanser (fragrance free) and this + a mad hippie moisturizer and booya. Everybody's face is different
Omggggg I used the Nicinamide with paulas choice and it messed up my skin SO BAD so I stopped layering thoes products together and now my skin is better 🤗
I just started using paula’s choice 2% bha liquid exfoliant and I have very oily skin. I must say, this "oil" is nothing close to the intensity of my natural oil and so far, it seems to be controlling my natural oil. The "oilyness" of this product is barely noticeable and I can't feel it on my face. I only started using it yesterday. I used it early in the day and then before bed. This morning, I woke up feeling like my face was having a good skin day which is rare for me. I normally wake up and feel like I want to wipe the oil off of my face but there was barely anything this morning. Morning: gentle oil free cleanser, BHA, oil free moisturizer (I would get a 30spf if I went outside more lol) Night: gentle cleanser, BHA, hyaluronic acid and aloe mix
I’ve been using it for a around a week and my face seems softer and has a more glow to it, but I’m still breaking out but I think it’s because the product is getting all the pores out of skin and hopefully I should see better results soon.
I use this twice in the morning. Once before my LED mask, and once after my shower before my makeup. It allows my makeup to go on so smoothly, helps lessen the look of my pores and gives me the glow I want. I'm fifty one with not one wrinkle. (nothing wrong with wrinkles!) I still get occasional break outs but barely anymore. I think it helps my skin look fifteen year younger.
I'm in love with this product Been using it for a while and my clogged pores really cleared up I used it every morning and night every two days After that I use the ordinary alpha arbutin, and trust me, they're a great combination. Like every problem on my skin's slowly cleared up
I came across your video today and finally decided to purchase it! Need to see what the hype is about 😄 I usually use clean hands over cotton pads to pay in my products so this is gonna work perfectly! Super excited 😊
I used the bha liquid exfoliant to get rid of my acne and it only really started working when I didn't put anything on top of it. Just put it on by it's self two or three times a week and use a good moisturizing routine when you're not using it. I have super dry skin and it doesn't try out my skin to skip moisturizer a few nights a week.
@@carlonomics It should gently exfoliate you skin no matter how you use it, but if you want to see huge improvements in active acne try cleansing, then using the BHA serum, then skip moisturizing for the night and go to bed. Just make sure to use a good moisturizer in the morning. Another good tip is to just use the BHA on the areas you have acne and then use your normal moisturizing routine on the areas of your face that don't have acne, that way you can use the BHA as often as you need. Option 2. If you want you use a moisturizer with a BHA wait half an hour then use it. if you don't want to skip moisturizing you should 1) cleanse 2) exfoliate 3) wait half an hour then moisturize. Paula's choice use to have that instruction on their website but people got angry about it for whatever reason so they took it down.
I believe when it comes to layering, ph doesn’t really play a role in layering something after. Ph refers mostly to the solution of the product to have the instant effect/treatment when you apply it. After it dries out I believe there’s not much of an effect, so layering something more basic is not an issue.
Absolutely love you videos. As a male I as so lost who to listen too and trust when it comes to skin care, but your videos are fun and so informative. I honestly really appreciate all the detailed info with a smile...so thank you Cathy :-)
This is really effective even after one use. I immediately felt my pores unclogging, especially my sebacious filaments on my nose area. I will definitely purge from this because I have closed comedones at the moment, but I don't mind. Hopefully it will clear up eventually!
did u purge, and did it clear up? i started using this product a couple weeks ago to help w my closed comedones and now i’m noticing so many more closed comedones on my forehead and cheeks, and some pimples popping up in the past couple days and i’m worried i’m breaking out and it’s not a purge
This is a 10/10 product. But if you have actual acne and only use this, you're going to breakout and wrongfully accuse this. SA is for mild acne. If you have moderate acne and higher you'll need antibacterial actives as well. If you're lucky you can get away with AHAs like mandelic acid otherwise you'll need to incorporate benzoyl peroxide some nights (not proactiv please ).
I learned thst BHA is kind of like Drano for your pores. It’s going to unclog congested pores, so they are clear and that helps with reducing the look of enlarged pores as they can widen and appear more noticeable from being congested- large pores can be from other factors too tho, like genetics and environmental factors.. I’ve heard it’s great for those annoying sebaceous fillaments (idk how to spell that lol) often on your nose and frequently be mistaken for blackheads... I hate those! I found AHAs- glycolic acid especially, are also helpful for these, I’d use a 10% peel once a week, focusing on these problem areas but I do like it all over plus my neck and chest... it will tingle or sting a little, especially at first but it’s tolerable over time
Subscribed! This is my first video that I’ve watched from your Chanel, your editing style is so cute and simple! Reminds me of the tv series Lizzie McGuire!
This is my first time seeing your video! Omg, you are so pretty, and i like the way you explain to us about the product, very detail and give much informations! Thanks a lot!❤️ Keep up the good work!
Thanks for making this video!! I just bought the mini size to test it out and I wasn’t sure exactly how to use it. This video helped so much and was so informative thank you!!💗😌
omg i just bought this and have been using it both day and night, i’m sad to admit that when i looked in the mirror last night after washing my face i noticed that i had CRAZY dry and peeling skin, something that my oily ass has never dealt with 😭😭😭😭 i’m thinking maybe i’m using too much or maybe i should use it just once a day????!! i still have hope 😔❤️
Thank you so much for this video! It is very informative. Also, i love the speed you talk at! I find it hard to absorb all of the information when people talk too fast. Thank you!
I just brought mine and for people with SENSITIVE SKIN, BEWARE !! I don't get pimples often, I just brought this product in hopes that it'll fix my textured skin/ clogged pores. Last night I tried it for the first time using a tiny drop and the next morning my skin was so flakey and irritated! I went on the pc's choice website and wished I had read the negative reviews before purchasing because it was such a hyped-up product and many other customers had the same problem with their skin peeling, chemical burns, and breaking out.
I actually had the same issue but I realised that if your skin is dehydrated and then you use it , it just irritates it so maybe your skin was dehydrated?
@@blubblub1906 Yea most likely because I remember on the day I first tried out the product, I didn't apply that much moisturizer afterward. Normally my skin never flakes so I'm going to limit the usage..maybe once a week?
I have cystic acne an oily sensitive skin. And I bought these products : 1) simple face wash for oily skin 2) Biore micella water 3) neutrogena moisturizer 4) the ordinary niacinamide 5) the ordinary peeling solution 6) neutrogena sunscreen Tell me what to add or drop and what to use after what... Please🥺
Bought this 2 weeks ago and girlllll it made my skin worse 😅 probably the purging as what she said but the thing is i cannot afford to have the purging phase since removing scars is already so hard for me. Sooo sad it didn’t work for me but I’ll experiment to see if it will work 😭
So sad this product didnt work for me, not sure if I got sold an expired bottle but I did not see any effects what so ever. I have very oily and comedone prone skin, using this for almost 3 months didnt change a thing... I think I will finish the bottle and switch to something else and come back to this product in the future, I want to give it another chance!
you were taking about layering it and i put it on and my moisturizer and stuff and then you said wait thirty minutes and i just sat there literally like 👁👄👁
So i can use niacinamide and hyaluronic acid from the ordinary in Monday wednesday thursday and weekend And BHA paulas choince on Tuesday and friday? :)
I bought this and the first two times I used it my skin was GLOWING and CLEAN and I got lots of compliments, but after a couple weeks my skin went back to its bumpy-like state and nothing changed. I’ve still been using it, should I stop or give it time?
i just ordered this, the advanced smoothing treatment 10% aha and the azelaic acid booster thanks to Dr dray:) i'll come back with a review if anyone is interested lol. (i have mixed and acne prone skin especially on my forehead where I breakout a lot)
so thank you guys for reminding me, i use it every other day at the moment and it's AMAZING definitely repurchasing it, as for the azelaic acid booster i don't know yet, it's good but not amazing.(i'll see if there's a difference when i stop using it). As for the aha bha solution i saw results after 1 day, my skin was so smooth and just like never before. After 2 months I hardly have any zits (white spots, blackheads) on my forehead and all my pimples are GONE, i only have a mark left from one i popped a while ago. Definitely RECOMMEND ❤️
I find that, when I use this product then use niacinamide too soon, the niacinamide becomes bitty and I have to brush it off. That totally crazes me! 🙄 However, this product is everything! I will now start using it on the back of my hands before bed with cotton gloves. 🤗 ❤️💕 🦂
Bro im tellinh this shit works i have been having problems with my skin for 5 years now and this product fixed it for me within 3 weeks i just bought the big bottle yesterday
I've never bought the Paula's Choice one bc cost but I've got a British Drug store RevolutionSkin Salycilic Acid 2% Liquid exfoliater and its £8 for 200ml . These are great for combo skin . I put a little on a washable cotton round and leave them on my cheeks and use a third to wipe on the test of my face . I use it AM 4 times a week .
Thank you so much for this review. Your review is clear and your a very knowledgeable lady. Please do one on the yttp retinal serum or one of Paula’s choice serums
What I do is to apply it a few minutes after my moisturiser, advice which I gotten from Dr Dray. Not only will this minimise irritation, you won’t have to wait in between products, either.
I found this article by PC. It’s not about BHA, but they do discuss the layering of Niacinamide and Vit. C. Can’t share the link, but hopefully this helps you find the article! PC > expert-advice > skincare-advice > skin-care-myths >can-niacinamide-and-vitamin-c-be-used-together
Hi, love the video! Can I use cerave foaming cleanser, pixi clarity toner and the paula’s choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant and finishing off with cerave moisturiser? I also have combination skin so I’m wondering is this a good product for me as I do really want to try it due to the amazing reviews I’ve heard
Great video. As far as the debate at the end there (generally about how many minutes later to apply moisturiser), the companies seem to say that it doesn't matter, and one reason for why one might be inclined to believe that, is because if consumers are using their products in a way that is less effective, that means the companies would be screwing themselves over, which wouldn't make much sense. I can only think of one argument against that. The companies want their product to be easy to use, and they see that as more important, money-wise. I don't think that's a good reason, since they can just say "wait __ minutes before applying moisturiser for best results, THOUGH this is not necessary for effective results".
What I do now is split the cotton pad in half so the product doesn’t get all soaked up. I find the pad is more soaked in the product when I do this so there is no need to continuously pour out more and more.
I'm 40 and British , I get Differin shipped from US and use Beauty of Joseon Retinal Eye Serum . Love Altruist Sunscreens and use their spf50 5* or 4+ UVA protection .
