I’m a little afraid to comment this bc I’m in NC, but I do legally use delta 8 gummies for my chronic pain sparingly. I went through a phase of taking it every day and night like you did here and it did make my depression and anxiety worse along with my other mental health issues bc you’re never sober so your brain doesn’t get to work the “muscles” of how to deal with those things, if that makes sense, if you’re using something that inhibits your mental abilities 24-7. Also, I’d get migraines because I was using it too much but it helped my migraines more than pain meds when I used it sparingly. I found I wasn’t able to process emotional pain as fast as I did once I’d been using it everyday for months. So now, I use it sparingly. For example, if I’ve had 3 sober days where I haven’t slept good or had any rest and I’m in so much pain that’s making me, irritable, argumentative, angry, & my ibs has been just so much to deal with, I let myself have a cut up small portion (keeps tolerance low too) and don’t let myself have it until 5pm so I can just give my body and brain a break from suffering the past three days and let it rest up. I feel groggy and my brain and motor skills feel slower and my body feels harder to move bc it feels like someone put a weighted blanket on me when I’m on it. Those are good things when my body’s been fighting hard and on level110% and I need it to chill out...and my mood lifts (again, using sparingly). It also can lead to constipation for me which I welcome, to an extent, when my ibs-mixed type has been going too hard on the diarrhea side of things. I also will use an even tinier bit if I have a night out where my body is just fighting me and none of my other tools have helped me that day. I’m obviously not your doctor but I was not surprised at all that you had a bad experience bc you took so much and so frequently (it seems doctors aren’t sure what amounts to tell their patients to take either) and for me at least, it helps if I use it sparingly bc it’s more effective, I use less, I keep sharp on my mental health, and body health too. I feel scared to be in public when I have it bc it makes me feel like ppl know and are watching me so that prevents me from exercising and other important things I need to exit my home for. So, if you didn’t want to give up on trying it completely, I’d say, listen and learn from your body what amounts and when and how often it can work for you. I used to think of it as something I had to depend on but now I use it as a supplemental tool when my other methods of getting any relief or rest isn’t working. I hope maybe this helps. I’m proud of you for trying and sharing your honest and real time experiences. People need to know it can possibly help sooooo much. I have had people in my life that were on super high doses of pain medication for years get completely off of them. It could really help the opi*d crisis if doctors knew more about how to prescribe it. My bff just broke her foot and she used it rather than her pain meds after the first 2 days post surgery. I think if the stigma was gone, researchers could pin point more about dosages and when to use it bc rn it’s a struggle to get funding and approval for those studies bc of America’s “war on ‘dhugs’” started by Reagan...he did a lot of damage in halting research and pharmaceutical companies benefit a lot from the current system that costs us a lot of money for our meds with not much relief at times. Rn, you have doctors that have never tried this in their lives and hardly and guidance of research on dosages so it’s like the Wild West on them trying to figure out how to help us use it in a helpful way. Its helped my life so much but I definitely had to learn it all myself the hard way about what works for me. My doctors know I use delta 8 and are glad it helps me but they know nothing about what dosage they’d recommend. You can buy delta 8 products at cbd stores. I would not recommend vaping or smoking bc that’s bad for the fragile lungs we have and leads to a lot of coughing (back pain and nausea for me) and can be addicting in the sense of an oral stim if you are neurodivergent and that’s a VERY hard habit to break. However, used sparingly, smoking it (still would not recommend vapes at all) can be an option that seems to enter and exit the system faster if you’re in a pinch for relief and you need the grogginess and heavy body feeling and mental stuff to go away in time for the next day. I’d say, if you feel comfortable, keep experimenting bc it could really help you when you figure out what works for your body.

I tried a tiny bite of a gummy with Thc in it, and two hours later, I started to get hungry and feel funny. Then I started laughing nonstop at everything I thought about. At least I forgot about the pain.

I do not like the high feeling but I do take it in pill form to go to sleep and then also use a marijuana lotion when the pain is bad. It does really help. It may take some more time to find what is right for you.

Also, if you choose to try it again in the future, there are a lot of different strands and combinations out there. My daughters use the THC. One suffers from chronic depression, and one from chronic migraine, and they both struggle with anxiety and the gummy’s, and the tincture work for them. Yes, everyone is different, just saying there are other varieties out there… Good luck to you.

Different stuff works for everyone. My partner likes edibles for his chronic pain and insomnia but i don't really enjoy them. He also likes dabs for fun, but I rarely do them because i find the high overwhelming and too spacey. For me smoking flower is the best way for me to control my dosing. Its easy to choose a strain that gives the effect I want and its easy to avoid the side effects I dont like, its easy to not take too much and take just a tiny bit when i need just a lil help. Overall I just feel like i have a good amount of control over the high and the effects I'm seeking. Still gotta stay extra hydrated, i can't just have iced coffee and soda I have to actually have water, or even good reliable strains can cause a migraine. Its different for everyone, and for some people a high quality cbd is all they want, for the endocannabanoids but not the high. If you think its worth it, I would keep playing around with the wide variety of options you have, but also no shame if its just not for you. If its not, its not, no one else can know what works for your body but you.

The gummies are perfect for me. I get 10mg. I take one before bed and eat a little bit and drink some juice and it works well. Don't take stuff on an empty stomach that can make you feel sick.

Magnesium, and vitamin d helped me with my sleep. Taking both before bed. Vitamin D helps your body naturally produce melatonin and magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer.

This is something that worries me about trying the medical marijuana/gummies. I use to smoke but, started getting major anxiety. Have heard edibles are a different feeling and that makes me cautious.

Edibles and tinctures can last longer depending on your metabolism. I use a thc tincture and a cbd tincture together they even each other out so I don’t feel high. And I agree there are other kinds out there. And if you live in a legal state talk to your budtender they are full of fantastic info. Look into turpenes they are the most important part of marijuana. But people don’t tell you that.

I swear with the gastroparesis we metabolize slower with everything including medication. And you did find a great solution for now with the antidepressant from what you share so definitely look at that as a win❤ I tried half a gummie dose and saw shoes and crazy shadows at might and I couldn’t even focus to pray it was so distracted. I know it really help so many people but not all. You are doing great. I really enjoyed watching you laugh.

Yup! Only use it myself when I have tried everything else ! Last contingent but it works ! People always say awh you're just a stoner you needs stop being a waster but it isn't about that for me ! Always have been. Using it for years and no in not addicted I'm addicted to nicotine for sure but that's it !! And yes what you're feeling with edibles is interesting alot of people when they have edibles it's. Arookie mistake to take more without first kicking in xD then they get floored xD I personally smoke but when I do I NEVER mix weed and tobacco just pure and take one hit and that's it for the whole day but yes maybe 3-4 times a year I'll have a whole pinner worth but that's rare and that's literally when I am completely smothered and can't get up with pain usually neck or foot since it's been injured bout è years that nobody can fix but yeah aha happy healing gal ! :)

We have a weed vape pen that's been sitting in a drawer for a long time, a friend got it for us, and I have only used it as a last resort for bad migraines. It definitely helps for migraines. I haven't yet tried it for fibro/chronic pain but may consider it at night before bed to test it out.

I have a tethered spinal cord due to Spina Bifida n edibles are filtered through the liver n is a different high then smoking. I have bowel issues so edibles is not possible for me. Just smoking. I have been using cannabis for 25 years n in my opinion cannabis is a good add on therapy but not an opiate replacement. Good luck. Love n light ✨️

Love your videos! I have hEDS, MCAS and POTS. Cannabis triggers my MCAS too much, but it can certainly help! Do you have a good Dr.? I found Dr. Saperstein in Phoenix, AZ - he’s an expert! I live in Colorado. It’s soo hard to find Dr.’s that understand this stuff!

Marijuana made me super depressed. It can help other people, though. The non-stimulant ADHD medication Guanfacine is what ended up helping with my sleep, anxiety, hyperadrenergic POTS, and migraines.

I have POTS too and have enjoyed so many of your videos & your recommendation of jobst compression socks & vitassium was such a blessing!! I wonder if you’ve ever heard of B1 (Thiamine) for POTS? Theres some incredible research I came across from a pediatric neurologist here in the states who had success treating POTS with B1. He is retired now, his name is Dr. Derrick Lonsdale. Im taking the TTFD form of B1 now at 600mg and I think its actually really helping my POTS! Another neurologist in Italy who has passed away now, Dr. Constantini, he used high doses of B1 to treat Parkinsons, POTS & fibromyalgia and more!

many people with MCAS react to cannabis (migraine might be a histamine symptom). ot all of them do though. maybe it could help in doses that are lower, but with its effect building over time?

If you don’t want to smoke but don’t want the lasting grogginess from the edibles then I would suggest trying a vape. It doesn’t smell or linger and doesn’t taste nearly as bad. It’s a decent option when you have kids. Much lighter feeling, functional, much easier to control your dosage and it’s instant. I also have POTS, hashimotos, undifferentiated connective tissue disease, pcos, and horrific PMDD and I swear it’s lifesaving especially for just lifting me out the severe mental darkness that PMDD causes.

It’s very strange I don’t know if it’s because we are chronically ill but one day it works then the next day it doesn’t one day I feel off then the next day I don’t. We still need more research for cannabis we need to federally legalize. I want more research it is a medicine but we are still in the beginning of knowing how it works for different people. Side note cannabis can build up in your system. I would try using it every other day rather than everyday.

I have to say that I had a similar experience. I was too fatigued on it or too high but still in pain. I gave it a three month try. I did try to work with the doctor who was assigned to me in my state but it just wasn’t for me at all. It also did create headaches as well almost like hangovers. I was really hopeful for inflammation reduction and pain reduction but it didn’t work. I am glad I tried. You just never know what is going to help.

I recently tried Kratom. First I tried a liquid full spectrum. A very small amount (half a capful). It was the best pain relief I’ve ever had. I felt more focused, energized and happy. I lasted about 24 hours. So I bought some powder, the green one. I felt like I took an opiate. I had a headache, dry mouth, nausea, sore throat, and irritability for several hours. It did help some with my pain but not energy. I may try another powder (red or white)or just stick with the liquid. I’m hoping I can use it a few times a week. I’ve read it’s addictive and to limit use. But It’s great to have an option that actually helps. I hope you find something that works for you.

Kratom does help me but I originally used it years ago to get off opiates from brain surgery + other medical things going on. I developed dependency to it. I wish I took breaks from it and used it infrequently because now I have to use it to avoid withdrawals. I will say regardless of whether you are new to it or used to it, too high of a dose can make you feel like crap & give you weird side effects. It's kind of interesting because in a sense it can prevent you from taking too much. It would be cool if opiate pain meds had this effect to prevent people from taking too much. I would recommend weighing it & taking the absolute lowest amount to start, like 1-3 grams. But if you develop dependency you can eventually tolerate higher doses. I have used multiple strains and Green Bali works the best for me for pain. Maeng Da is OK too and some may actually prefer it esp if starting out. But certainly you can always try small amounts of other strains to see what works for you. Again just go slow and learn from my mistakes, don't get sucked into using it on a daily basis! Hope this helps.
