Hey Steve another great video, I have never ridden a bike with custom suspension, does It really make a big difference in the ride when you put whatever kind of suspension that is on that bike ? I see a lot of people with them but I figured they did it because it’s a cool fad and they’re expensive kind of like a yeti cooler
@@steventwiddy3402 Hey bro....the purpose of the reservoir is just to cool the shock oil..that's it....its all in the shocks themselves, dampening and rebound and how the shocks handle those two things is key...99% of the bikes you see on the street with these reservoirs on them, you nailed, cool factor. Thats not saying that the shock them selves dont provide a much better ride than stock..but thats not saying much as stock harley shocks Suck with a capitol S. There are lots of great choices out there that will provide a smoother ride than stock that dont have reservoirs. Whens the last time you saw anyone riding and cornering a bike so hard on the street that they needed the oil cooled down in their shocks? LOL 80% of the people running these dont have a clue what they do or even how to set them up.....so...cool factor.
Very Nice, I had Ross Tom 2-1 Boom-Can on my DEUCE in 2000, it sounded awesome, lots of people wanted to know where I got it from at the time I was the only person outside the US that had managed to get one, Great territorial on your set up ,
Awesome video very informative and detailed instructions. Would love to have seen your channel along time ago. And yes the flew sucks seems it comes on right away and hope ya feel better soon
I put mine on right before riding from Indy to Spokane, WA. We did 5500 miles round trip and I loved the sound! So many other people said how much they liked it.
yes most of the shorties or even side dump pipes are pretty loud...my SG has a full on side dump and actually can get quite annoying after riding 7 to 8 hours lol its loud...but I love it!
Awesome video..my buddy Troy Reiter said I should check your videos sadly he passed over the weekend out of the blue but was impressed chatting with you
Enjoyed the video, thanks for showing using the strap wrench on right side exhaust. Always a pain getting that side off. Already ordered one , thanks again.
My two cents is two brothers needs to add a full shield to the rear cylinder pipe, had to modify my stock shield with some heat wrap underneath just to make it rideable, great pipe but that heat is unacceptable. Thanks for the video ⚡⚡
yeah harleys EPA compliant exhaust is generally the first thing we all change...I have a new kromewerks video coming out soon as well..but for this style bike I prefer the shorties
Any good tuner will tell you this pipe leaves power on the table. I would not recommend this pipe on a bagger. However, if you are looking for performance and numbers I’d recommend the “full length” D&D, Burns, Khrome Werks, and Bassani pipes.
all pipes will leave hp on the table if you arent doing engine work, cams etc..your talking about 2 - 4 hp gains and maybe 2 - 4 torque gains which are not "seat of the pants" gains.
Hey brother, Really enjoy watching your videos! You're so down to earth and so experienced. Have you read one of my messages I sent to you about me buying my new 2023 Harley Davidson Fatboy 114 (vivid black). Well, that's probably something that you get all of the time, so that's no big deal. LOL 😂 I just wanted to know if you think my Fatboy would look good with the Boomerang/sway bar chrome kit installed? I know that it's my choice, but just wanted to know your thoughts. I love that my new "Fatboy" has the Chrome Finish and NOT the Satin Finish. 😊 It reminds me of my old American Muscle Cars and trucks. Hehehe 😂 I had a 1991 Harley Davidson Low Rider Custom (Wine-berry Pearl Coat paint job), but it was too small for me (6'.1/2" and 245 lbs). I sold it when I left to fly (UH-1N and UH-1H-11 "Super Huey") as a Test Pilot in Melgar (Tolemeida), Colombia for the "Drug Interdiction Program" for the Department of State/Colombian Army in January 2003. Just wanted to give you a bit of history about myself. LOL 😂 I've already installed a new chrome XMSN Oil Cooler cover, which looks really nice. I also installed a custom bolt (knurling w/skull and American flag) for my seat. Will be buying some new Vance and Hines Big Radius exhaust pipes and installing a Chrome Trask Air Filter setup (round Air Assault). I have to recheck that name.
Hey bro..I do get a lot of messages but I dont remember one about a new fatboy..where di you send it to? Email. instagram. FB? Sorry I missed it. I did put the same thing on my softail build ..added some much needed chrome to rear of the bike. I like them and if you like chrome you will too. I like the sound of the big radius pipes too...I did an install video on the softail of the task assault air cleaner too...its pretty awesome.
they were a limited run by Torque Motorclothes.... what he has left are on sale now but im not sure what all he has left torquemotorcycleco.com/collections/clearance-1/products/torque-bagger-footboards you may want to call him
I just took off my tbr long 2 into 1 , sounded good, but chrome/paint on pipe burned, peeled, and no trans mount to secure pipe better. And 18mm ox sensors are tight, tight angle! With narrow sensor and new tune I should be better, but lucky I put bassani back on!
i was looking heavy at the bassani as well..im actually shooting a video next week on bassani fishtails on the cholo build ...that sucks you had those issues with he tbr though
Nice sounding pipe, TBR was all the rage back in the 90’s especially when the Honda 900rr debuted Love it then, but I heard the brothers split up 🤷🏻♂️ Had the flu too bro, two days of hell then it broke, yea its going around
wow I had not heard they split up...that sucks if they did..they made great pipes back in the duy and this one is still one of my favorites...yeah man that flu kicked my ass pretty hard...getting older kinda sucks lol
GAH!!!! The friggin rubber strap wrench!!! I wish I'da seen this or thought of that before I took the V&H slip-ons off mine to install the Rinehart headers and mufflers. I fought those damn V&H for a good hour and half trying to break them loose without damaging them. You don't have any use for a married Screamin' Eagle Pro Street Tuner do ya? I bought a 19 RGS that had it on there and someone tboned me on it about a month later and totaled it. Bought an identical 19 RGS a couple months later and Harley told me the tuner was a paper weight now. I've heard some folks get some use out of them though. I'll send it to ya for free if you can use it. I already put a PC6 and Auto Tuner on the new bike.
yeah the strap wrench of the bent piece of metal with holes that match the rear hander is always a good way to smack them things loose...some are easy and some really suck lol I dont have any use the tuner..thats why I use the dyno jet..i can buy multiple licenses and keep on using one over and over again...saves in the long run i guess.
Hello Steve, I have a 2010 street glide and I am wanting to do a camshaft upgrade to get a little better performance from bottom to top end but i dont want to change cylinder heads was wondering if you knew of someone that I could talk to about doing this kind of work. Thanks for your time
Great Video and Info! I have a question for you? I have a 2020 Road Special Special with the 114, I had all the EPA compliant stage 1 nonsense done using the Screaming Eagle Header and Pipes, and the Tuner back in 2020. Horrible dyno numbers! What would be the most cost affective way at this point without doing a cam to at least increase Torque and Horse Power performance at this point??? any ideas or suggestions??? I would appreciate it. Thank you so much! 🙂👌👊👍😎🙏🙋♂️😊
No exhaust on the market or basic stage 1 will produce really any good 'seat of the pants" numbers...your next step is definitely cams if you want to increase torque or horsepower. And would be cheaper than replacing al of that work you already had done...I know you said without doing a cam but thats kind of where you at.
I changed one put same pipes but never tuned it runs great though.. should I take it to harley and have them tune it..or wait till I get the next tune up Low Rider ST 24
Even a stock bike can benefit from a good tune versus that map tune HD puts on it....but it really depends on what else you done to it...if you just changed the pipe youll be fine..but if you have changed the air cleaner too then you will want to tune it. More air in/more air out....needs a tune
Hi Steve. This is a little off topic. I have a 2018 Heritage Softail w/114. In the last day or two the little red light came on. I checked all the lights, turn signals, four way and brake lights. Do you have any ideas as to what calls that light to illuminate?
Hey Paul...that means you have an bcm/ecm and you will need to check that code and reference a code chart to see whats going on with the bike. here is a link to how to check them...i thin its for touring but tis the same thing...you will hold down your selector switch (left switch housing, top/left button and turn the ignition on while holding it and put the bike in DIAG mode and then check your codes from there...plus there a lot of videos that cover that procedure as well.
@@sikbaggers Steve, I got lucky. I removed all I had to (including the fuel tank), I disconnected all the connectors I could find and plugged them back in. I also found the stash of new fuses 5 & 7.5. of course there wasn't the 40 amp main as a spare. I then put everything back together, yes the neg cable was hooked up last. I then started her up, no problem. I even took her for a spin. After I got back to my garage I ran the diagnosis through her again. All codes dissappered. Thank God I didn't have to buy a BCM.
The number one most used tool in my shop for over 5 years now...the Milwaukee M12 ratchet...you will more than likely see it every one of my videos. You can buy cheaper versions but im here to tell you this one has been put through hell and im still on the original batteries I got with it. Here is a link to the one I have ...I just picked up a few more batteries so I have back ups amzn.to/3VPoO15 I picked up two m ore of these on sale at home depot over Christmas amzn.to/4cZqETw
@sikbaggers all laws are going to change regarding performance parts on motorcycles, one example is,it's going to be very difficult, probably impossible to by a exhaust system without a catalytic converter moving forward. The reason? The environmental protection. Call any performance exhaust manufacturer they'll tell you. And performance parts ARE NOT limited to exhaust pipes.
I wonder if this is the pipe that George Bryce was bashing in one of his videos? I believe it was a short 2 into 1.....he hates it. He said he’s about performance and anyone that likes this pipe isn’t on the same page with him....
yeah never heard of him so I dont know ...some pipes can leave HP laying on the table but its realy going to come down to engine work, cams etc to get those big gains
@@sikbaggers Did you state you don’t know who George Bryce is? Google is your friend....your not familiar with NHRA ProStock Bike racing....he has a few world championships. One of the best Suzuki and Harley tuners on the planet! He is retired now, but still tunes on his 9 second bagger and still designs cams and valve train parts....Star Racing....
some would argue the longer 2 into 1 will gain more HP/torque but its certainly not seat of the pants gains..its all about a balance of what you want and looks. I love the shorty on this style bike and the tbr was a great price
I have shitty maps on mine, all tubes for screaming eagle air cleaner, and slip ons, Thunderheader, pro pipe, short shots, but nothing other than se air cleaner, and no 2-1 shorty tunes. Kinda sucks.
Dont worry about what "brands " you see on the tunes...you have to remember that the SE air cleaner is just an open air cleaner, non restricted...so is every other open air cleaner on the market so the brand doesn't make a difference. Samew with open headers (non cat versions) and slip ons...choose one closest to the ones you have as far as baffles go with back pressure. The maps on these tuners are very basic and you will need to more than likely have it dyno tuned to get it super dialed in....these maps will get your bike running but not super dialed in. No map you download off the internet is going to do what a true dyno tune will do
Any short pipe will be hotter than the 2 into 1 or single exhaust that goes fully out the back...my wife hasnt complained about it but we havent been stuck sitting anywhere with it yet
i love the few "blanket" comments about how a shorty is bad with nothing backing it up...fortunately for us we actually have numbers but thanks for checking it out.
Come on bud. You know there is unlimited data on shorty pipe torque loss with the M8. That pipe would sound great on a GSXR. Apparently that’s the look you’re looking for anyway. Really? That pipe on a bagger? I don’t hate ya. You made a nice video.
