Watch every goal from the Championship's top scorer this season. Chuba also broke the league record for scoring in successive home games (9) and grabbed the 1,000th goal ever scored at the Riverside Stadium.
Love seeing our formal academy guy doing so well .. chuba had a lot of promise.. he had to go through a lot of fights and struggle to come here.. can only love stories like this.
he was in the arsenal academy with my brother always thought he waould be a serious player used to rip kids the age group above then he ripped it at u21 at i thought he was well on his way .i know he was doing well in greece but really happy to see him find himself in this country
It was an inspired season by Akpom, he found the magic touch he'd been searching for. Worryingly, the list of names that are departing the club i.e. Aaron Ramsey, Cameron Archer, Ryan Giles and Zack Steffen are all key players (or there abouts) in building and maintaining the form that lead to Boro's rise up the table. It's hard to see any way Akpom doesn't join that list, given the inevitable Premier League League interest. We all know he's ready to make the step up to the Prem given the quality he's shown this season and there's nothing any Boro fan can do about it except pray for a miracle. If we end up fighting off bids for Hayden Hackney then this is gonna quickly turn into an entire squad rebuild. With Alex Mowatt and Rodrigo Muniz also packing their bags, we are gonna lose depth too. Even departures like Darnell Fisher and Luke Daniels will affect squad depth. Stalwart midfielder Johnny Howson is 35 years old now in the twiilight of his career, even though he has a contract extension, we've only realistically got so long left with him pulling the strings in midfield. We also have to contend with teams attempting to poach our manager. That's without considering that, for most this season, the defense has been the main area we need to strengthen. Hate to say it, but this season was a missed oppurtunity that we'll have to work fast this summer if we stand any chance replicating next season.
I reakon he'll stay with boro after the season he's had maybe just another year if we don't get promotion then I think he'll leave and hopefully with a bigger price tag then 15 million utb c'mon chuba boro legend 👍❤️👍
We baught Chuba for £2.75m. Yeah he's scored a bag full of goals in the Championship, but for most Prem teams it's still a gamble. £15-£20mill is standard. We offered £20mill for Archer, who's still only 21 years old. Given how little we paid for Akpom, if we get transfers right this summer (earlier the better), then we can do a lot with £15mill to replace all these departures. We've lost too many important first team names and we could seriously use £15mill right about now. Literally, could make approx 6 signings at the same cost we paid for Chuba with that money. We could hold out in hope that a bidding war breaks out, but if he's gonna go (which seems inevitable), then it's better he goes sooner rather than later. Only realistic way we get in excess of £15mill is late on in the window when teams start making last minute bids. At which point we would likely have to pay more for targets and have less time to secure deals. You can't score 29 Championship goals in a season without your inevitable destination becoming the Premier League. The prem is the main aim for most players and he's clearly ready for that step up. You wouldn't reasonably expect him to stay in the Championship now.
@@aaronmckenna1103 Completely agree with you Aaron, however if he goes then forget about promotion next season, which is absurd because that should be your aim, consistency, momentum, should block all moves and lie to his face, obviously difficult and its easier said than done. Having someone who's prepared to work so much and score the goals his scored is rare, show me a striker that's scored 25 plus this season anywhere in any 2nd division.
@@sesethumarambana we could of mitigated the affects of his departure by signing Cameron archer. Who has 11 goals and 6 assists for Middlesbrough in 20 matches. But Aston Villa don't want to sell. The Championship is only going to be that much harder with Southampton, Leicester and Leeds all joining us. And without the key players our chance of promotion next season lies heavily with this transfer window. Fail to make any good signing and it will be a tough season. We're mid table at best without the loanees from last season. Minus akpom which we assume will happen too.
@@ScottBlade1889- Sorry for trying to be funny. You didn't do anything wrong ✌🏼 We are happy with Akpom and hope that he will also score as many goals for us.
@@MarioAJAX1 It's fine. I wasn't being salty or anything. I just think 12m is a lot of money to spend on a 28 year old who has only really had one good season in professional football. Too much of a gamble at that price in my opinion. Nevertheless, I wish him the best of luck at Ajax. 👍
@@ScottBlade1889- I completely agree with you about his age and that he only excelled for one season. But who knows, maybe he will flourish at Ajax in our system and he will surprise everyone by repeating his stunt. I hope so, but we'll see 🙏🏼🍀 He is happy and proud that he can play for Ajax. His welcome interview can be found on Ajax's RU-vid channel and he seems like a good guy with a good heart. Just for himself as a person, I hope he will succeed with us. And of course also for us, Ajax 😇😉 Here the interview: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dzmzyXjQvlM.html ✌🏼
