Camping in Sweden is easy. We have this law, *_Allemansrätten,_* that allows you to walk and put up your tent practically everywhere, except in cultivated fields. There's dedicated hiking trails with logg shelter so you can sleep protected from rain and wind. And infront there's a fireplace for cooking and warmth. We have it pretty good here _(except all the crap our government puts us through)_ I did a cano trip once and the good thing about _"Allemansrätten"_ is that you an make camp almost wherever you land, just check your map.
@@TheWeaversofEternity maybe you should come visit Sweden. We could take a weekend hike or a canoe trip 😁👍 I'll bring some friends and we have "smörgåstårta", fermented herring, Swedish schnapps and beer. But we'll probably wait until the world has become sane again.
Thanks for sharing your video 🎉 I have 4 Nek knife and I re-handled them with the Paracord . Besides if you are in an emergency and need some rope you can always use the handle paracord.
You should try winter camping, in the snow. I did that with a friend. We drank White Russians, which froze due to the low temperature, it was -28°C/-18,4 F 😁👍
Yep, done that in Smokey Mtns. Got snowed in, had to stay longer than planned & didn't have proper warm clothes. We chopped wood to stay warm & drank "Rebel Yell" whiskey, which actually made the cold worse. But we were young & stupid. We left about a cord of wood stacked up in the wilderness, lol.
@@jeffro. Guess I was pretty stupid aswell. One should not drink alcohol in cold weather. Later I've learned to always bring hard candy, like Charms, and totally fatty "food", lard, butter etc. Godspeed on your next adventure
I used to go camping quite a lot when i was younger (teens and 20s). Don't do it any more bc of muculoskeletal disease, though i did it a few times in recent years while volunteering with rescue squad. What did we do when camping? Often we'd go on hikes, to see things like cool waterfalls, rock slides, etc that were too far to go to in one trip. Camping in the direction of it shortened the hike. Went camping in Smokey Mtns a few times in winter, got snowed in & had to stay longer than planned. We chopped wood to stay warm, didn't hike. Even though we had a big fire, it wasn't warm enough bc we didn't have warm coats that were windproof. So we chopped more wood than we could burn, left about a cord of wood stacked up in the wilderness! Don't know if anyone found & used it, lol. The first time we went camping in the mtns, we camped next to a beautiful river with clean, clear water. We were dumb and drank water w/o boiling it. So we all got sick sfter we got home from Giardiasis. We were sick in proportion to how much we drank, so i was sickest, lol. (I was drinking while swimming, lapping it like a dog. Except dogs can do it & don't get sick.) Such fun. We also sometimes went to a mtn that served as a Army Rangers training site, with granite outcrops that we could climb & rappell from. That was fun, too. We'd sit on a rock face and watch the sunset, then we had to climb back to camp in the dark. And we were stoned & had drank wine, so there's that. Such fun!
Wow! Those are some great memories... maybe not the most pleasant for the getting sick part lol, but memories nonetheless! Thank you for sharing those with me!
This was really interesting. It made me wonder whether it is possible to weave a handle for a cane and or walking stick? I wear out foam and string wrap too often!
I have a walking stick wrap video, you can check it out and see if it works for you here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-400v8D-sxjQ.htmlsi=AKo12a2Bnh46Xk-P
Great wrap!!! I have a purple Izula I wrapped with purple paracord, but am going to redo it like this!!! Camping is where you can find peace and silence from man. Go. Just go.
Used to be in the BSA from 7(cub scouts to one rank below eagle) over the years we went camping and had fun. There were other things we did too like community service and summer camp. I would love to camp out under the starts someday again.
It would be nice to for sure, but he was one of those guys that just fell off the face of the earth at some point and I have no way of contacting him now. 😞
Having been raised on a cattle farm, I remember the sights, sounds, and smells of being in the middle of a back pasture. It's sorta funny in a way. As a little kid, it seems like I took the time to admire and appreciate all of those things. But the older I became, the less I paid attention to those things. Now I'm at the age where I appreciate those things more and more. Unfortunately, my father sold that farm and moved us to the city. Which I was not and I'm still not very happy about. I was looking forward to raising a family of my own on that farm. I've never had the financial means of having a farm again. Something that has been very depressing throughout my life. Although I do live out in the country and have zero want or desire to live in town. Definitely not these days!! I do feel this should be a health reminder to everyone to take the time to get out into the country, even if only for a day trip. Just to admire the world away from all the hustle and bustle of the big city, especially on a clear night. Y'all be safe out there!! 🤠😎
Hey, would you consider doing a video where you focus on the challenges that may come up when ending certain knots and how to make proper finishes? Both technical and estetic wise.
Awesome story and great looking wrap. I thought it had been forever since I've been camping but you destroyed that thought😂😂😂 I used to go camping multiple times a summer, but not quite so often anymore. I love trying out different fire lays, exploring and blazing my own trails, and of course gotta throw in a lil bushcraft n survival skills here n there.
If you get a chance, you should go and do that camping trip. Living in Southern California, I go to Anza Borrego area and it's got great view of the stars/Moon. If you have a few days, it's a great place to respect the silence. Regardless of where you choose to go, go with someone you can make a memory with. Friends or Family, it's great to share the desolation with another.
I just googled Anza Borrego and wow... I'd definitely go camping if I had access to a place like that! I will definitely go at some point in the future. Just have to find someone to go with me lol. Thank you for the comment!
Good stuff thx! I can't stand the swedish cold so I don't do much camping. I tried to make tripods with the help of lashings to hang my clothes on. And they just slip and slide and fall over. What I managed quite well was to restore an old shovel now that the snow is coming. I used an angle grinder to remove rust and bring back shiny metal. Then primer, paint, decorations (pinstriping) and lacquer. In the end I did wrap 3m of paracord, to the handle and shaft. It looked so mean I hung it on my wall. Pinstriping can be really fun. Anyway great upload.
Awesome story ❤ I live on an island surrounded by Rainforest and grew up camping thank you for the cool tutorial and I like the story telling while the tutorial is simply playing I like this format
Really glad to hear that you like this format bro, I figured it would be more entertaining than me just describing what I'm doing on screen as it's pretty self-explanatory for the most part. Thank you for the long time support and feedback!
