"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Music: "Forrest Gump Suite" by Alan Silvestri
"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" tells the story of a man traveling through some snowy woods on the darkest evening of the year, and he's pretty much in love with what he sees around him. He's on his way back to town, but he can't quite tear himself away from the lovely and dark woods.
ROBERT LEE FROST (March 26, 1874 - January 29, 1963) was an American poet. His work was initially published in England before it was published in America. He is highly regarded for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech. Frost was honored frequently during his lifetime, receiving four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry. He became one of America's rare "public literary figures, almost an artistic institution." [3] He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1960 for his poetical works. On July 22, 1961, Frost was named Poet laureate of Vermont.
PETER DICKSON is reading the poem. Peter is a British television announcer, radio presenter and voice-over artist. He is best known as the announcer for The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, The Price Is Right, Family Fortunes, All Star Mr & Mrs, Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and many others. Peter has been the voice for hundreds of award-winning television shows, radio programmes and advertisements and is one of the most prominent TV voice artists in the world today.

A deep baritone voice by the narrator Robert Spratt brings the poem back to life and adds more depth and volume. Good recitation Robert. Hoping for more such poetic delights. 👍👍👍

THEME:: Appreciation of nature is the main theme. This picturesque Poem describes the Poet personal experience of winter night. The speaker is drawn the beauty and allure of the woods, which represent nature .It has been exquisitely rendered that emotions on a winter night are different than a usual mood.

This is just the way poetry should be read. Strong, slow, deliberate, powerful. I included this recording as a part of my lesson plans, www.chroniclesofmomia.com/p/stopping-by-woods-on-snowy-evening.html, because it was so good and I thought the class should hear poetry as it was meant to be read. I went through a number of videos, but this was tops by far. A great poem, read in a great way.

Very good question! Because I'm an idiot and I made a stupid mistake :) Actually, you're only one of two to spot it - unless all the others just didn't mention it. 10 points to you. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the poetry reading.

+Stephan Smith Because I am an absolute idiot! You are the first person to have even noticed (or at least mention it). Wow. 10/10 to you. I'm not sure what to do about it now. Maybe I'll pull the video and re-upload it using a picture of Robert Frost :) Or, I might just leave it and see if anyone else notices. Thanks for letting me know. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video despite the stupid error.
