I learned this poem back in 7th grade, 56 years ago. I had an amazing English teacher who gave us so much by way of not just by what he taught but by how it was taught. I still recite this poem to myself and think how still meaningful it is to me as I retire from teach after spending over 4o years in a classroom.
THEME:: Appreciation of nature is the main theme. This picturesque Poem describes the Poet personal experience of winter night. The speaker is drawn the beauty and allure of the woods, which represent nature .It has been exquisitely rendered that emotions on a winter night are different than a usual mood.
I teach this poem. I play this video after we study the poem's wording, rhythmical pattern, rhyme pattern and the impact of the repetition of the last two lines. I think Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" is such a wonderful choice in creating mood and enhancing meaning. I also think the photos were very nice and very pertinent to the poem's content. Your video has had slightly less than 5,500 plays. I just checked in tonight to make certain that it is still posted. I'm so pleased it is in good order. I will be using your video for my summer session that begins after Labor Day. Thank you for keeping it on RU-vid.
So lovely on Christmas morning bring, thank you for the poem and images brings snow to me here n Sunny Florida, and reminds me of my childhood up north, wonderful thank you!
One of the all time best poems, ever! AND... Great Music! Great Photos! But irredeemably marred by the poor presentation and placing of the words, which, of course, should have been the Central Focus. Really, too bad, sigh...
