Whenever an older video of yours pops up, I watch it. 😊 I just want to say thank you for your realistic videos. I can’t imagine traveling as much as you do for work. I traveled only a few times per year and it was always exhausting. It’s really inspiring to see how successful you’ve become by working hard and I’m impressed by how you balance everything in your life. As for the “must be nice” people, I’ve found that (for the most part) they are the people who just aren’t willing to put in the extra work. My husband and I have been told we are “lucky” for the success that we have obtained. Those are the people who haven’t seen the late nights and weekends we work, or the fact that I’ve had more than one job most of my adult life. It’s frustrating at times, but I always have to remind myself to consider the source. 😁
You ARE an executive and you've worked your but off to get where you are. You don't need to explain yourself anyone. You're doing a great job and deserve your success and job you are happy and fulfilled with. God bless

I’m a nurse too and one thing I’ve loved most in my career were the consulting nurses that came to the hospital. They were hard workers and very kind to the staff. Plus, they are fun. They taught us everything. I admire you and get great inspiration from you. I personally love the fact that you’ve taught me how it’s possible for a Dpor Dash Queen to love cooking. ❤❤ thank you.

Going on my 1st work trip since having my daughter. This video has restored the confidence I used to have traveling, b4 becoming a mom. Also, I'm very familiar with your home airport. You are not annoying! I appreciate you being real. I see you being appreciative of what you’re able to do and contribute to the world, while being realistic that every job has its challenges. I work with young people and they get stuck trying to find the “perfect” job that they “love” because that’s the message they get from creators.

I just had to throw in my 2cents here.....ugh!! Seriously with ppl leaving comments such as the less than positive one!! I literally felt upset and defensive on your behalf. First off....no one knows what anyone else has gone through in life or are currently going through. We are not to judge! Also truly....if anyone is not pleased with the content they are watching, go elsewhere! No one is making ppl watch content at all, let alone content that they feel the need to pick apart or critique! I don't care who you are or how much money you do or don't have, no ones life is a cake walk. We all have struggles, sadness, tragedy etc etc in our lives. No one is immune from life happening to us all. I am thankful to the content you do share, I fine it to be great to see someone being real about life. Because life happens! I have both worked in Southern Georgia and in Colorado as a nurse. The pay first of all was a dramatic difference. Also, the work load in the south was so much higher than here in Colorado. In the 2006-2008 my patient load on a med-surgical oncology floor on nights was 8-9 patients in GA! I did the best I could, but I was tremendously stretched. It’s one of main reasons I left GA, in 2008.
Great video! As a mom you said a lot of things that I think were great to hear. I loved your comment about how when you had a baby and toddler you had to take somewhat of a step back in your career but you knew that wasn’t forever. As a toddler mom I felt that to my core. I have A toddler and want to keep growing in my career but I know right now is not the time but this will eventually change and in the meantime I can enjoy this time with my kid. I love how you also owned how hard you have worked to be where you are in ur career. I have been working since I was 16 too and I know first hand that it takes years to grow in a career. Great video!
Jen, I love your channel and you are an inspiration for me. I am currently working on my MBA and part of it is thanks to you. You dont have to apologize and give explanations to any negative Nelly. you are entitled to complain as well, we are all human beings with ups and downs, and you show it all in your channel and that is why I love your channel because it is very real. I personally dont like to travel, I hate airplanes so that is another reason to admire what you do. Keep up the good work!

I wish I had been more on top of your videos and known you were traveling to NH! I’m a longtime subscriber/viewer and fan and live over the border in VT. Realize it sounds nuts and possibly borderline creepy, but would love to meet you and share working mom stories. Currently in a v demanding job where I’ve been working 55 hours a week each week since January. It’s rough and hard to keep up with mom life.

LOL, I was cracking up when I saw your crocs, you are so funny without even trying to be. My husband travels a lot on business and he puts on weight every time as he eats out for all his meals and gets little exercise, plus the stress, lack of sleep and fatigue as you said! And nevermind the negative comment - just remember all the positive ones, they're the ones that count, cause they are the followers who have your well being at heart ❤
Wow! To the viewer who says you complain, BS! You are telling it like it is! She can watch another channel. 30 years ago, I traveled for work for 7 years. While I wouldn't have given that up for anything, it was exhausting. You earn every dollar when traveling for work. At one point I was only home weekends for a 2 month stretch. People don't understand that if your plane get in 4 hours late, you still have to work that day. The magic of hotels wears off quickly. Her comnent only showed her ignorance.💕
I haven't done patient care in 14 years. I left for an opportunity at a health insurance carrier and I've grown quite a lot and even went back to school for a business degree. Currently feeling burnt out in the health care for profit world for the past 25 years. I also sort of miss that instant reward of helping someone. I'm looking for the next step because I still have 10ish years left in me but not sure yet what that is. Absolutely love this conversation because I don't have anyone around me that can relate. Agree strongly with you comment about balance. I love my job and my kids, and while I've never had to really choose between the two, there are times when one takes a back seat to the other, especially when the kids were younger.
I worked for a children’s hospital for many years and a community hospital before that. One statistic we were obsessed with was State child wellbeing rankings which encompasses food security, housing security, poverty rates, infant mortality, access to healthcare, public education, graduation and drop out rates, preventable injury and a slew of other markers….I live in AZ so we we’re always right with the southern states in a race to the bottom.
I love my job, I'm my own boss, AND I set my own hours, and I still have frustrating days that make me complain about work! You are absolutely right; it is human nature! Every job is going to have drawbacks or things to gripe about, whether it pays a lot or a little or has lots of perks or none at all. Funny abt the "must be nice" friends! Your videos always bring me joy...they're my fave way to relax after work, whether it was a great day or a frustrating day ;)
I am from the south and I totally understand what you are saying. My husband is Latino and faces many instances of systemic racism. We are not without our issues but I love where I live. (We live in a relatively liberal part of the state.) I don’t travel for work but I made the decision to go back to school and pursue my Ed.D. (Doctorate in Educational Leadership). It has been a huge adjustment to our family. I have 3 daughters and I want them to have it all- career, dreams, satisfaction, and the family-life they desire. With a true partner and sacrifice, they can achieve their lifelong goals. Like you, I feel that my experiences in the classroom can support more students and teachers as an administrator/mentor/leader. After 20 years in the classroom, I will be stepping away to become an administrator in a school. My heart will always be as a teacher even though my role will change to evaluation of teachers and implementing improvements within the school. Sending you lots of support in your journey(s).
As a born and bred Jersey girl, I will venture a guess toward your statistics .... we have a LOT of people in the NorthEast. Which means we also have a lot of choices in Healthcare. If we don't like the services, we have other choices. Poor customer service will kill your business around here. Word travels fast and we just don't have the time or the patience for nonsense.
@Jen Chapin please come to Winchester, VA and straighten out our local Valley Health hospital system it’s terrible and there are no other choices in the area!!
Because you have an amazing and well paying job doesn’t mean you don’t have complaints or tough days. What another person may or may not make doing their job is not relevant. I've got a travel tip for you. On my trip to Alaska that's coming up in August, I'm bringing instant cold packs and an insulated bag so I can keep food cold without access to refrigeration .

Love this video. You are maybe the hardest working person I have ever seen. You owe no one and explanation for anything you do. You aren’t complaining - you are venting. But what if you/we do complain? So what? You are human, and you are juggling so much at once and you are wildly successful. OMG - what employer would have someone travel at their own expense - flights, meals, hotels. This is not a luxury but a necessity for your need to visit as part of your job. Just keep being the wonderful person you are, but I do hope you can find a way to get some rest. I find it refreshing and inspiring to hear you say you have your Dream Job. Not many people say that. You have worked so hard to get where you are, and yes, dmn it, you deserve every “perk” known to man if that is what you are given! 😊
I think it is wonderful that you work and are a mom. You are right...as women, the culture wants to limit us, but we need to lean on each other and show each other that it is possible to move above and forward always.....

You probably aren't taking comments for this any more since it's three months old, but if someone has to be at the airport at 4am, leave their family, travel for hours with all the hassles involved in airline travel, not be able to have a consistent meal times or resources, do all the prepping for family and packing, unpacking, have little sleep.... I wouldn't call that "must be nice" I would call it working your butt off. The room you're filming in is nice but I wouldn't call it a grand, extravagant executive suite. Sometimes people don't understand the reality of a situation if they have not had the experience or something similar. You come across as someone who is very grateful for her job and family. Keep on truckin'. :)
That's sad that you have had bad experiences in the deep south. I don't feel like it's that way everywhere, and I love my home and am a southern Bell 100%! There's a lot of positive in the south so maybe you will have better experiences that change your mind in the future.
Texas born and raised! I will always love my Lone Star state. I think you should give us another try… in the winter 😂 I do agree, I am in a rural area and our healthcare is trash! I pay out of pocket to go to a doctor that is not associated with insurance so I can get better care.
Have you ever been to U of M in Michigan? I was there for over a month when I fell and broke my neck and was paralyzed on my right side.They are a teaching hospital and I live in Lenawee county Michigan,I was life flighted there.

Working from home now - I suck at the life/work balance. I at-least had some idea of balance when I worked outside of the home office. I was able to prioritize my time better when I was home in the evenings and traveling for work. However I much enjoy working from home 100% more due to the flexibility. I do enjoy my work trips a bit more now
Great video!! I have found that drinking smoothies helps be with maintaining weight loss. I know it might be difficult for you to find smoothies on the road. Even clear broth soups for lunch or dinner. Green tea is great for weight management. It's kind of a more liquid meal plan. Because it's easy to digest. I lose inflammation doing that. That makes a difference for me with weight loss and feels better, too. I have more energy and positive feelings about myself.

I’m only about 35 minutes from Boston, for a couple weeks. I’m at my son and daughter-in-law’s house sitting for my Grandkitty, while they are on vacation. So you were kind of close. My son works in New Hampshire, it’s a pretty state, for the most part😀

I keep seeing travel videos with people flying and not wearing masks. I haven’t flown since last summer, and you don’t hear about people getting Covid from flights any more. But here I am now delayed returning home because I got Covid from the flight here. How do you keep safe from Covid while flying?
You taking about different hospitals… we live in south Florida and I haven’t ever had an issue with bad service in a hospital. We were in California and my son had to go to the er and we had such a horrible horrible experience and I just couldn’t wrap my mind around how awful they treated a child. I stayed quiet for as long as I could until I was like, please help him. He is the only child here! So I can see now the differences
My biggest issue sleeping in hotels is the pillows being too big. I'm used to a flat pillow. Also the lack of ceiling fans is really hard. I always bring a little fan 😂
