You’re doing such an incredible job of persevering and staying consistent! Hopping right back into healthier habits and not giving up. It’s okay to take a longer time to lose the weight because you’re learning to sustain the habits!! You’re inspiring me to do the same!
It took me 2 years to lose 40lbs, but it was the easiest 40 pounds I’ve ever lost and it’s has stayed off effortlessly. I did it with subtle lifestyle changes. Nothing drastic at once, just small changes that combined to big results. Last year I added more exercise and only lost another 11 pounds, but 6 inches off my waist. I’ve accepted that if I’m going to do this, it’s going to be a gradual process. I won’t be the person to drop 100 pounds in a year, but for the first time in my life, the weight I’m dropping is staying off.
Tips might sound crazy but walmart's keto buns are only 50 cals each. Also frozen fries are surprisingly low calorie. If you are traveling and you are getting something fast mcdonalds kids meal 6 piece is 505 if you get both fries less if you keep the apples. Popeyes blacken tenders you can get a 5 piece and small mashed potato are less than 600 cals. Idk if that would help at all but it's something to fall back on if you get in a jam
Awesome job Jen! You should be extremely proud of yourself and celebrate every pound. Do not focus on how long the weight loss is taking. Your journey has no time limit so there’s no need to put that stress/pressure on yourself! You Go Girl…I’m pushing through along with you Friend 😘👏
You should definitely applaud yourself for maintaining that weight loss while you put the diet on hold! The hardest part of any diet is maintaining the results, so don’t downplay it.
I’m so thankful for this series! I just turned 38 and I’m determined to make some health improvements by 40! My kids aren’t as young and requiring things of me anymore so it’s time to prioritize myself!
If you like the Bolthouse dressings you should try their Cilantro dressing. So good. You could up the cilantro flavor even more if you stir in some chpped cilantro.
You are doing AMAZING so far very proud of your progress... One piece of advice that might break your stall try reducing your bread intake and increasing your protein intake see if that works 🥰
I’ve been a silent subscriber of yours and I just want to say I’m so proud of you girl!! You’re doing amazing!! I too am on a weight loss journey but you are absolutely killing it!!!!!!
Luv all ur videos especially these "what i eat" gives me great ideas. Have you tried the joseph's pita bread ? The flax, oat bran and whole wheat ones, 60 calories for 1 WHOLE PITA, 9 carbs, 6 protein, 2 fiber. I have almost replaced all my bread with these. I use them for tacos, fish tacos, sandwiches, person pizzas, heat n microwave like 10 seconds and spread peanut butter on so good.
Hello from a ‘naturally thin’ person. I definitely benefit from ‘thin privilege’ and I am absolutely not complaining about not having to consider every piece of food I put in my mouth. There are some downsides, I promise. Whenever I get sick, I become very weak, because I don’t have any reserves. I often feel cold and I probably bruise easier than others. Also, everyone comments on my weight and gives unsolicited advice regarding food. People are constantly on a mission to make me gain weight. Jen, you are such a powerhouse of a woman. I love listening to you talk. I nod along to so much of what you say. Great work with getting back on track xx
Congrats on your journey so far. This weight loss thing is very hard. I started taking it very seriously right around the same time you did and I finally just hit 20 pounds as well. The biggest thing I am focusing on is the fact that I am not gaining weight on this journey. I’m thankful that the times I’m not losing I just kind of stay the same. But there’s a lot of big non-scale victories that I have had. And I’m trying to learn to celebrate those more than what the scale says. I’m loving all of your meal ideas. It helps when I get stuck in a rut.
Jen, I noticed that your pyrex jug is in lower case and I've seen warnings that they can explode as the glass is not as strong as the genuine PYREX which is in upper case. Just thought I would pass this info on. Take care 😊
My biggest struggle with eating better (other than being a night shift nurse) is how to modify it for my family. I love your channel and how realistic it is
Awesome Job!!! Love this video! So hard getting back on track! I’m right with ya! I do great during work week my weekends are a bust to much family fun & I indulge in to much food! I’m at about 3lbs a month the last few months to date I’m up 5lbs from 2 weeks ago! Let’s Go!
20 lb is awesome! Up until about 13 or 14 years ago I didn't have to think about my weight. I had them slim on my life. Which I think is the reason why I'm having such a hard time losing weight. When I was slim if I gained a couple of pounds it would drop off before I new it. With no effort at all. But since having children, not knowing about nutrition, and becoming less physically active the weight started to pack on and I've been struggling ever since. I think because I had never had this issue before I haven't buckle down and stick to any kind of weight loss regimen. I will do a little of something but not completely. But in the past couple of days I have really started to take it seriously. I really need to lose this weight. I am almost 50 and I have young children. I have also recently started to have some health issues. So I can't continue on the way I have been doing things. But I just wanted to say congratulations! Because losing 20 lb is not an easy thing to do for a lot of people. But your hard work and dedication has been paying off no matter how much time it has taken.
I love how you are eating foods you enjoy and not depriving yourself. I lost my appetite when I went thru menopause so I’m thinner now than 20 years ago. I’m 53.
When traveling order off the appetizers or kids menu. The smaller portions help with not over eating and not eating out of the guilt of wasting food because you can’t bring it home. Get a booty band or some kind of resistance band to pack in you’re suitcase. You can do a squats, abs and upper body sets in 15-20 minutes. It’s better than nothing for a whole week right!
You are doing GREAT! I love how you keep us up to date on your weight loss journey! Be proud of your weight loss! Keep it going and you will get to your Goal! Love all that you do on your channel and I will be here to encourage you through this. I lost 50 pounds since last year. I hope to maintain it but I've struggled for years on the yo yo cycle. You got this! Here to cheer you on!
If you stay in the aame hotel i have had factor meals delivered and used them for lunches. I also try to look and see if i can find a cleaneatz like store. Heslthy prepared meals you can grab and go.
I'm proud of you! For a traveling idea, I always enjoyed getting a good walk in by exploring the city/town on foot in the morning before the day got away from me. Just a nice way to get a change of scenery from the hotel for a bit, get some fresh air, kick the day off with some activity, and maybe come across a cute local coffee shop or restaurant you want to try while you're there...
I’ve always heard that slow weight loss stays off better…and that the occasional plateau is your body and skin getting used to itself. Thank you for sharing your ups and downs.
Looking at your diet I can only see one thing that is different from what people ate 60 years ago. Processed vegetable and grain oils. My wife and I cut those out and have lost a total of 150 pounds. My wife went from size 16 to 6. More importantly we have never been healthier. Never hungry. Not eating grain or vegetable oils also meant cutting out all processed foods. We still have desert with every meal, but they are made with grass fed butter or Tenderflake lard, and real sugar. Get most of our oil from cold Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
For your Apple Watch, before you get going on the treadmill open your fitness app and start a workout, select treadmill, make sure it starts counting down and it’ll calculate correctly. Don’t forget to stop your workout at the end.
You are doing great. I lost 50 pounds over a year and I did it by eating a larger meal in the morning or lunch and eating a smaller meal at dinner. I know that is not always doable, but I tried. Don't make yourself crazy about it or you will burn out. just make smarter choices everyday
Losing 20 lbs in 6 months is great and healthy because it avoids losing too much lean mass. The more you take your time to lose, the more durable it will be. NB: You look beautiful with the black dress
I always feel bloated while traveling. ( flying especially) and we are out of sorts as far as bathroom habits..not to be to graphic, but, I think women especially feel this. We get constipated, fear of not having a know place to go to the bathroom...etc messes us up. You are doing great on your weightloss. It takes alot to loose weight. It's easy to gain, hard to loose. Keep it up, your doing a great job. ❤
Does your family wait for you while you serve everyone first before dishing up your plate? There are days my family is almost done eating before I dish up and get to the table... 😢
My husband insists on eating last, because he eats enough for 3 people. That way he doesn’t get in trouble for taking too much. Sometimes a struggle, since I have 17 and 19 year old boys as well. 😅
Congrats on 20 lbs!! Your such an inspiration....encouraging me that it is possible to push thru the hard times and continue on -not an excuse to quit!!!!!
Congrats Jen on the 20 lbs!!!! I've yoyo'd my entire life with my weight. Water is your best friend and I walked with my dog every day for at least 30 minutes. Milo is a hoot!!! You're doing great and you are so funny!!!!!!!
You are such an inspiration. I'm trying to lose more. I was hearing high intensity workouts are better. Guess I'll find out. Lol 30 seconds of jogging or running, then 90 seconds of walking. Do this in 6 sessions. Doing stretching before and after.
"I cannot be goin without a bra" i know that's right girl, same here 😂 i also think strapless bras are more uncomfortable (and not as effective) tham regular bras. So...if i can't wear a normal bra with it, it ain't happening 😂
Pro tip: I used to travel 20 days a month. First thing I did when I got to my location: grocery store. Breakfast: granola, and rice milk. Lunch: turkey, swiss and some whole grain bread, with relish as a condiment. Make the sandwich to take with you from your hotel room . Used to love the "sandwich thins" but I think those have gone the way of all good things. Dinner was usually with co-workers, but focused on lean protein and veggies: salmon, broccolini, maybe an adult beverage or two. Just keep it simple. You can do this! We're proud of you!
You look so beautiful and happier.. I find it extremely hard to lose weight..since I'm off for the summer I'm really trying to walk in the mornings... I really do appreciate the hard work you put in for your videos.. your such a inspiration ❤️ I think I drink my calories during the summer.. cold beer all the way..lol
I got off track myself. Stuck to being pescatarian, but was moving less and had some biscuits 😅 easier to cook for single, though i.e I put salmon in the air fryer had a bag mix salad some prepped veg and 40 second brown rice for dinner. You're a busy working mum makes food with love. The 20lbs is really fantastic and inspirational 🤗
