I was today years old when I discovered that “hate to love” and “enemies to lovers” are not the same trope

they aren't. everyone kept recommending red, white royal blue as enemies to lovers but i was very disappointed that it wasn't at all. my favorite in this trope is captive prince series. haven't found anything to match that yet.

@@Lucisek268 Hate to love means that the two characters often don't know of each other beforehand and have a bad first meeting. For example the main girl throws up on the main guys shoes. Enemies to lovers usually means the characters already know of eachother, either from a bad past relationship or because they are in groups that are against one another. An example would be the main girl being the princess of one kingdom and the mail guy being the prince of the kingdom they are at war at. They might not have ever met but they are still enemies to one another, but if they accidentally meet on the street they could become friends.

Popcorn tip: put it at the recommended time from the instructions and listen to the popping. When the popping slows down, that’s when u take it out (Even if every last kernel isn’t popped).

I'm a mood reader too, and I always find myself picking out a few books, looking at them, then either picking ANOTHER book that wasn't in my pile or listening to one (that also wasn't in my pile) on Libby 😭😂 it's so bad because I own about 600 books that are unread. I have no business reading books from the library when a majority of mine are collecting dust on the shelves

I appreciate that you take weekends off from working on your thesis. I did that too, up until the point where I just wanted to finish it, so I would sometimes work on weekends too just to get it over with xD

System for choosing which book to read next: yours sounds about right lol. I like to spread out the books I'm considering on the floor and then... look at them... rearrange them... and then, you know, pick which one to read next... It's more of an art than a science :P

I have had the popcorn thing happen to me as well. If your microwave is on the small side, the bag tends to get stuck as it expands. When it stops rotating, some sections of the bag grow too hot and hence the burning!

Wow, I just made Musaka myself for Thanksgiving dinner! I make a vegetarian version with mushrooms, but I love it so much! It's the dish my mom asks me to make as a "special meal" when I come back home for the holidays.

moussaka is such a yummy meal! you were stressing me so much with your laptop so close to the stove though haha i usually send pics of the covers of books to my group of friends and let them choose or i just give two books to my boyfriend and the one he ends up *not* choosing is the one i will read !

Moussaka is amazing. I'm fortunate to live in the most diverse city in the world where you can get just about any kind of food, especially Greek food. Astoria has a ton of great Greek restaurants owned by Greek immigrants. The Moussaka at any family owned diner is to die for. If you ever come to New York City, it's an excursion you must take. Either that or go to Greece.

Ik knip die popcorn zak altijd open en doe het in een pan met een deksel op laag vuur, de olie (zit in de zak) even goed verspreiden, af en toe de pan een beetje schudden en wachten tot het gepop afgelopen is. Gaat nooit mis!

I really wanted to read A Deadly Education but after hearing so many mixed reviews I'm going to pass on it. Am really excited to try To Kill A Kingdom now, though! You hyped it up for me because we have similar reading tastes! Also, the popcorn struggles are very familiar. What I always do is, I follow the instructions on the package, but stay at the microwave. When there's about 4 to 5 seconds between 2 pops, I stop the microwave. Then, most kernels have popped and it hasn't started burning yet! :)

I actually enjoyed A Deadly Education more than I thought I would. I needed a a fun light read and it actually really got into the world. Hated all the info dumps scattered through the book. I have a feeling it's going to end on a cliff hanger so I stopped about 40 pages to the end, and I'm going to save those for right before the sequel releases.

Last time I was early I was succeeding life 😂 I'm a person who checks the first paragraph of my next books to decide which to start, too lol Also I looove writing on books that I own (not borrowed), Idk why but I always feel excited when I go back and see how I felt or interacted with the characters' actions in a book. It's similar to talking to yourself but it's more exciting since you can't see what's coming 🙊😂

Ok ok ok. So I’m watching this and at 3:53 (or a little earlier) I saw the eggplant and I was like oh! She’s making moussaka and then I was like no she’s couldn’t be (just because everyone who I have tried talking to about this dish doesn’t know about it) and I’m just flabbergasted that you are making it! I buy books faster than I can read them. They lie next to my bed so when going to sleep I have to jump over the wall of unread literature. When choosing a book, I first choose 3 and after a while I narrow it down on one to read.

If you like short chapters and want to try classic sci fi, Arthur C Clarke is the guy for you. I am reading the 2001: A Space Odyssey series and I almost think his chapters are annoyingly short.

If you enjoyed the mermaids, maybe read Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant! It's an adult horror about this sea expedition where they discover killer mermaids. It has a diverse cast of characters and also talks about the science side of it all.
