Heartstopper is a British coming-of-age romance streaming television series developed for Netflix based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman. Starring Kit Connor and Joe Locke, it tells the story of Charlie Spring, a gay schoolboy who falls in love with someone he sits next to in his new form, Nick Nelson, while also exploring the lives of Charlie and Nick's friends: Tao, Elle, Tara, Darcy and Isaac.

after several rewatches, im realizing that maybe harry started being "nicer" or whatever the fuck bc he found out that he was being homophobic towards nick also bc he'd been not straight that whole time. harry thought he was only hurting Charlie, but he didn't mean to hurt nick. which still makes harry a dumbass and a half imo but whatev 😅

I am also getting the emotions outside of Nick and Charlie this season! I was frustrated for them when they couldn't hang out but there were actual tears when Tao's mom talked about him and Elle!

i really like how all the characters are written in this show. and i will always love nick and charlie... but this season, for some reason tao and elle, and darcy just tugged at my heart and made me cry... and i wasn't expecting that at all. i even teared up watching your reaction just now. something about tao just feeling not good enough and the way that makes him misunderstand or react to situations and people around him while still believing that his friends are literally the best people in the world. oh god. i love him so much and i want to give all of them a hug

I think we're different but similar in a lot of ways? Bc I've defs been sexually attracted to people and i want to kiss & more, buuuut I've realized now (as a 27yo) when i dated someone for the first time now, yes i was sexually attracted to him but the lack of physical intimacy over my life has made it difficult to start now? Like I think I'll need months before I'm comfortable enough, and thats fine. These shows where they have ppl immediately hook up after the 3rd date, that made me think maybe there was something wrong with me. But i think we all have our own pace, or none at all I'm also unlabeled/leaning towards pansexual and i think I've learned that i would be very happy in a relationship with someone whose ace bc emotional connections are more important than physical to me.

What you are describing kind of sounds similar to demisexuality which is under the ace umbrella. It's where a person NEEDS emotional connection and trust and a relationship to have been built up before they're interested in having sex with the person. But yeah you're totally right demisexuality is 100% okay. The character from the heartstopper comics who has his own story in Radio Silence, Aled, is demisexual.

Malikah, u get it. thank you for sharing that! I understand 100% where you're coming from about the chars that get intimate almost immediately after breathing in each other's direction for 2 seconds and wondering why I couldn't relate to that. I was surrounded by people like that too, couples like that. You're def not alone and there is absolutely nothing wrong with you! which you alr know now im sure, but no harm in reminding you! And i avoided using the term demi here bc i didnt know if I'd be using it correctly. I think that description fits perfectly for who I am as well, or like "under the ace umbrella" for sure. I'm living vicariously through Isaac discovering this for himself in a loving and accepting group of friends.
