I know this video is not current, but I ran across it at the perfect time. Just purchase my first Cameo 4, such a beautiful piece of machinery. I consider myself to be new to the crafting world, although I purchase a Cricut Export 2/Maker about two years ago at separate times of course. Then I mention I didn't open the box until a year later. I appreciate your patience and guidance in this video. It helped me a lot. The only thing I was concerned with was the noise from the machine while it was cutting, I thought I did something wrong. Thanks for all you do.

The cameo 4 is my first vinyl machine I owned and I'm in love. I got it for my 30th birthday back in June and love all the little things I've done around the house for my husband and the kids. I could not help my self but to open it up and play with it the day I got it. By day 2 I was hooked.

Hi my daughter gave me cameo 4 for Christmas, bless her heart, as a surprise. Had never heard of it but she knows I'm crafted n enjoys a little complication. I spent hours since Christmas trying to register n learn about it. Today I texted my daughter told her I was done unless she found me some help but before she texted back I called my co worker who has a cricket. She told me ck tutorial. I went on RU-vid and you popped up so I followed ur tutorial n it helped encourage me to not give up. I'm checking out more of ur tutorials n prayfully we will get it together. Thank you.

I just bought the Cameo 4 and haven't used it much yet. This is my first Silhouette. I love it! I had a cricut before. I didn't care for it. I like the Silhouette so much better.

THANK YOU for this!! I spent the entire day (yesterday) trying to figure out how to use this machine. I got soo stressed out to the point I wanted to throw my cameo away haha. I found this video today, and bam! everything works and turns out it was just my fault that the stickers weren't cutting. For now I can only watch videos, do lots of research and practicing on Adobe(free-trial) while waiting for my other materials. Also taking notes on everything I’m watching 🙂
this is my first machine and i’m so scared to break it. i haven’t even taken it out the box, i got it for christmas. thank you for the video it’s so helpful. i’ll watch a few more while i muster up the courage to open it.
update: 9 months later, i finally took it out of the box today! i’m excited. i bought my first sheets of vinyl & a set of tools! i’m about to go watch your video on how to download the software.
I just got the cameo 4 for Christmas. I’ve never been so intimidated by a machine. Your video does help though. Hopefully I can get the courage to make my first cut soon.
I just got one for Christmas myself (Cameo 4+). It took a few days to clean off my craft table. It's out of the box and it took a couple of tries to get the software downloaded because of my old laptop. After watching the video, I think there might be another piece of cardboard in there. I will check shortly (different rooms and up a flight of stairs). I look forward to making some vinyl lettering for my car and then more onward from there. This is replacing my Cricut mini which is in operable because of software, ugh. I will watch some more videos to feel more confident.
My spouse just got me a 4 to replace my older camero as an anniversary gift, I was very surprised! Your video was easy to follow and reminded me to check for hidden foam pieces inside the machine. Thank you!

I just got the Cameo 4 Pro, the big bad boy. I'm glad I watched this video first, because I thought I had all my Styrofoam pieces out properly, but I noticed one you found that I didn't see. I checked my machine and sure enough I missed one. I know you said in the video you think that section of the video was boring, but at least for me, it was an eye opener! I do agree the packaging is fantastic with this machine compared to others i've seen, but I do wish they could have at least changed the color of it because the white packaging blends in too well with the completely white machine.. ugh! but thanks!

@@DesignBundles thanks for the reply. Id be happy to see that video! Unfortunately I am struggling with my Pro. It will not connect to my PC via hardwire or Bluetooth, it won't recognize my machine no matter what I do. I followed all the steps from their website on troubleshooting. I also updated my computer drivers and tried every single USB port I have to see if that was the issue. So far nothing. I am hoping I don't have a dud machine. I tried it with my laptop as well and that also didn't work. I will be calling their customer service today. I am bummed. This was my first silhouette brand machine and its not working 🥴
Hey Mizzy! What version of the software do you have installed? I had to update mine to be able to use the Cameo Pro. I'm on v4.4.281. Even then I had to connect with the USB cord before it would pick up bluetooth. Maybe this will help? ---Becky

Wow I feel dumb now hahaha😅 I just assumed the software updated itself since literally every other software I have does auto updates. I guess they don't. Here i was panicking because my computer couldn't find my machine and i thought it was broken. I just got it work last night im so excited! Thanks for the info Another question, do you know where to buy accessories this large for it? I just scored some 24 inch wide vinyl but I can't seem to find any mats this big.

After 2 years of not being able to connect to computer by Bluetooth, I finally saw a video explaining how to replace the built-in Bluetooth dongle. Installed it yesterday and WaLa…Bluetooth connection. Color me happy!

I've owned my Cameo 4 since Christmas and I am still slowly learning. I have seen many tutorials along the way, however, this is the first tutorial of yours that I see AND I just learned the importance of a test cut...if only I'd learned this sooner, I would have saved a lot of vinyl. Ok, so I am commenting 3 years later. I just started learning sublimation(March 2023) and find out that a way to correct some errors on t-shirts would be to cover it up. Also, I want to do my own stickers for glasses and maybe some fun stickers. I came on here to compare Circut and Silhouette and this video popped up and I watched it. No machine yet but it was calming to watch. I print from Silhouette so I am beginning to know some of the functions but not enough to design in it. Silhouette it is!!!

@@sueblair4022 Do it! 😄 It didnt go as bad as I thought! I couldn't do a test cut as it kept lifting the corner of my vinyl but I let it start anyway and it worked 😁 Another thing....even though i had read about it and KNEW it was coming...the noise this machine makes is something else 😳😳🤣
My plugin for my cord is on the opposite side of my cameo plugin so it had to run the cord along the back. I just found notches in the back where I could run my cord underneath. That's cool!
Mine has been sitting on my table top since I unboxed and set up on my pc 4 months ago. today I got the cutting tool installed😊 I am so intimidated by the program. My goal this month is to learn and use it.
I would love to own a Cameo 4. However, that is just not in the cards for me. I do own the Cameo. I have never used the "test cut" and probably should have with all that I have wasted. When you do a test cut and then it cuts out right, do you have to move your design over further as not to cut into the test cut?
Yes, Molly, test cuts are life savers! You don't usually have to move your design, unless you have a design that is nestled in the very top left corner. Then give it a little nudge over, about half an inch? But it's rare. Hope this helps! -Becky

"Save the packaging" Apt dweller "Ugh - yet another box to figure out where to store" lol That's not on you. It's on manufacturers who require everything be returned in it's original packaging. I have no closet floor space left!

OMW, I unpacked my pink Cameo 4 yesterday, was a bit nervous as I am new to the whole thing. Whilst watching your video I was unaware that you could move the carriage to check if all foam etc was removed. Thank you so much for that. Your video was amazing for me as a "newbie" I understood much better on what the blades and extra bits were for. Look forward to your next video and thank you so much again. It came in the mail today! I unboxed it, untaped it (lol), and inserted the blade. Turned it on, set up the blue tooth and then I got intimidated. More because of the software than the hardware. So, I am online watching you and reading the manual. HA! Tomorrow I hope to make my first cut. Oh and I own all the Cricut's, so I am not new to this; but the software is so different.

Thanks for this video - I had mine in the box for a whole year as I was imtimidated! but it is out. I have a couple of questions - 1. When you did the test cut, how did you do it? Is there a test cut button that cuts out a tiny square like yours? I didn't understand that part. 2. What is the cutting mat for? When would you use one and where would it go? If you can't tell I have never owned any device like this. Apologies for stupid Qs!
