Time to experiment 🧪 on ways to make cheap ✨GLAM✨ glimmer or glitter sprays. Watch how I use several techniques from the web! Some are good and some fail!
2oz spray bottles from Amazon
Acrylic paint
Peal Ex powder- 652 Macropearl (can use eyeshadow )
Gum Arabic powder or Elmer’s glue
Tim Holtz Alcohol inks - I used wild plum, purple twilight, latte, caramel, & ginger
Distilled water
*No need for isopropyl alcohol

The last time I saw a bottle of glimmer mist was in a scrapbook store and they wanted $13.00 a bottle for it. I bought my mister bottles at Walmart in the beauty sample aisle. They were about $1.50 a bottle, I think. My girlfriend and I made our own spray inks with reinkers and water. We didn't make glimmer mist. I think we used like 30 drops of ink to a full bottle of water. We were afraid that the glitter or paint would clog up the spray bottle. We also made our own spray booth from a 3 sided cardboard box. Those fancy spoons they use for pearl-ex are probably ice cream sample spoons. I've got two or three around here or one could use a baby spoon too. Nice experiment.

Try this!!! The paint gets super diluted out so clogging is minimal -- if it gets clogged, just rinse out the sprayer with hot water. It's still working pretty well. I believe that the alcohol inks are a better way to go, but this gives me a bit more opacity (rather than being translucent). Pearl Ex is magical! I think I might ask for a set of different colors - I only have silver right now! :) $13! Yikes! You can buy about 20 spray bottles on amazon for that!

@@KitchenCounterCrafts It's fun and addicting! I have a couple of videos where I'm gelli-printing with some new Dollar Tree stencils. I have two sizes of the rectangle gelli-pads, but I want a circle one next. I've seen where people take them, stamp on them to make a reverse image.

I just want to THANK YOU SO MUCH for freely sharing your ideas - my original intention with making videos was not to say "look at me" (that's why it's just my hands) but to say "hey, out there -- what are you doing that might make more sense or is easier or cheaper or...?" Sweetheart, I wonder if alcohol dries faster to stop some of the spreading that might happen with just plain water? Maybe do a side by side? That would be interesting to see! By the way, I am a new subscriber!💕💕💕

Thanks for watching Kari!!! I tried these out on darker papers and only a little hint of color + glitter shows. The colors disappear on black cardstock. I think I need to make some with white acrylic paint - maybe that will show?

@@KitchenCounterCrafts Sweet of you to reply. I’ve just started playing around with them yesterday for the first time and watching your video. It’s fun tweaking it to figure out what works. The gold I made disappeared on my black stamping, yet the bottom of the cardboard box I’ve sprayed in looks amazing 🤩.
