I’m over CJ Goodwin being on the roster. At least Turpin actually catches passes for Tds on offense. He actually plays snaps on offense. Goodwin only plays special teams. Dude is taking up a roster spot.

I whole heartedly agree with you about Goodwin, if you remember a few years back we had injuries at CB. Dan Quinn and the F.O went out and signed Xavier Rhodes. Goodwin is not good enough to play corner he keeps Butler, Booth or Izzy off the roster.

With the new emphasis on social teams,I'd give him one more year. Hopefully someone else steps into the role. Him actually making tackles ,just on pr/kr does effect field position... keeping points off the board helps.

I dont understand the Malik Davis thing. There is absolutely nothing that stands out about him. And watching him return that kick against the Raiders and get stonewalled.... i just dont see where this team will use him. And why they would keep him over a more talented back like a Duece Vaughan or a Royce Freeman.

Deuce beat Davis out last year as a rookie. He showed in the preseason that he fixed his weaknesses. Don't see him getting cut. Davis also made it to the practice squad last year. Don't see that changing although I would prefer Freeman on the practice squad.

Zekes last year before going to patriots. Davis rookie ssn he played 3 games he looked like Alfred Morris clone in limited carries. Since then he's kinda just been there. He looked strong again last week. We'll see how he looks this weekend.

I woulda liked for him to fight for the spot but they givin it to him automatically just off the strength of stats. Zeke Dowdle Duece should be the 3 with Luepke in a FB/RB Role

I was doing some work at a customer's house down here in Florida. I noticed he had Cowboys gear everywhere when I walked into the house. We started talking about the past, this upcoming season & how the both of us grew up in NJ, in Giants country but repped the Cowboys since the 80s. Turpin is definitely worth having on the roster but Goodwin needs to go. Turpin can play a little wide receiver and is probably better than the bottom of the roster wide receivers

CJ Goodwin only played 5 games last year and only had 4 tackles the year before he played all 17 games and only had 8 tackles that is lass than 0.5 tackles a game trust me they could easily release him and put him on the practice squad just in case you need him.

Goodwin will probably get cut and get placed on the practice squad. He'll get called up for his max number of PS call-ups for the game roster and eventually getted added to the 53 once (hopefully not) guys go on IR

Yet another flaw in our management hierarchy. I know these guys are players 49-53, and we waste time talking about 6th receivers every year, but someone needs to tell Bones to suck it up and coach who we tell you to coach. He could learn something from Zimmer.

I can't see Zim sitting there and letting Bones decide who to keep or cut concerning his defensive players just because they don't play ST good enough for Bones. I could see Zim telling Bones to actually coach the players Bones needs from his D to play on ST!! Oh, to be a fly on the wall!! Turpin definitely needs to be on the 53, he should be a lock, scored 4 TDs on offense last year, as well being a great returner. I would let Goodwin walk if it came down to him and Turpin. I appreciate Goodwin but he doesn’t add anything to defense and Turpin definitely adds something to offense.

I think the front office needs to SERIOUSLY think about moving on from Mazi Smith if he's not improving either via a TRADE or outright CUT him. Sounds weird and I admit that I don't the numbers or watched a lot of film on him this year BUT he was a Dan Quinn pick. I don't see Zim Fck'n around with him for too much longer.

We need a quality assurance manager that can overrule a Bones Fassell. Fassell needs to better prepare the special teamers he gets. So if Goodwin gets hurt we have lousy teams AND lousy CB depth.

To me, the special teams argument is moot. Not saying S.T. aren’t important, but you can’t tell me that the skill set for being a great ST guy,is more valuable than the skill set for WR, DB etc.Bones would have the least amount of pull on my coaching staff because of this. Your job would be to coach ST to WR,DB’s and whoever is on ST. You don’t draft ST guys and coach them to play skill positions. Bones has had too much pull on this team during his tenure.
