90’s kid here 👋 my friends and I were obsessed with these. Now I’m here for a refresher to do them on my daughter 😂

I've had more than 4, and personally, I leave them in for more than a year. Although I do use more intricate patterns (Chinese ladder, etc). After you leave it in for a while (over a year) (depending on how fast your hair grows) It will develop a dreadlock type knot at your scalp, and it usually takes me over an hour (conditioner is a lifesaver). Just a little advice for first-timers.

Man, I've been doing braids and styles in my hair for years and always wrapped them. This is the first I've seen this method. Looks so much easier. I'm glad I found this video.

I personally am exited to do this in my hair because we are going to outer banks this summer also I would like to give a word of advice make sure you try it before hand so you can fix any mistakes and you just pull it to take it out

I cringe every time I see a reference to Outer Banks...I assume the majority of those commenters are too young to know that the OBX is NOT responsible for these hair wraps. My daughter got one a few years ago in the Bahamas, I got one in Cancun when I was 17 in 1997 and I’m sure they were around way before then.
