Thank You Tanya. I tried several RU-vid instruction videos. Yours was the only one that worked. I haven’t experienced any slow down using the thumb drive except when installing it does take a little longer to install a program. Could not install the Roku channel or Pluto app on the thumb drive, it went directly to the Firestick. Is this normal? Anyways, thank you very much for the assistance and I will be watching more of your videos. Pete.

i did, i tryed 32gb and 64gb pen drive, but when i inserte on firestick said the same problem: that i need to format the usb, and i lost all the file i cpoied from pc to firestik. what can i do???

Would much rather have exFAT or even NTFS. The 4GB file limit on FAT32 can be a problem with some 4K videos.

When I format the pen drive in this way, I am not able to copy my big files in it. (File more then 4gb) please me your opinion share me???

My firestick 4k max will not recognize external storage. External storage and usb drive do not show up at all in settings under my fire tv or applications. The usb drive does show in xplore. Anyone have a fix? Thx

Nobody on YT ever mentions anymore the desire to PARTITION the (pre-formatted to FAT32) External USB to one-part 'Device Storage (for FireOS App storage ... but unrecognizable to Windows desktop/laptop computer) AND 2nd-part for recognizable 'External' storage! TDUK, you and others outlined the method to do this on the standard 4K sticks (OS 6)! Because App Storage doesn't really need much space, I partitioned my SanDisk 64 GB usb flash drive ... 80-20 (instead of 50-50). *80% (external), 20% ('device'/Apps). I am now getting ready to set-up a 1st Gen, 4K MAX stick (OS 7). MY QUESTION ... Will I be able to use 'Remote ADB Shell' app to do this again? OR ... Will OS 7's ability to recognize my FAT32-formatted USB drive (128 GB this time) immediately try to force me to do ITS format (i.e. have to CHOOSE only 'one or the other') ... or can I get around that prompt, so I can use Remote ADB Shell commands like on my OS 6 stick and partition it the way I want? If it forces me to CHOOSE, which option would STILL allow me to use 'ADB Shell' AFTER ... so I can partition it ... AND will OS 7 have any issues with recognizing it (i.e. so I can still use its new ability to easily MOVE my Apps back and forth between Internal FireStick storage and External USB storage (at least the 20% part that it would recognize ... hopefully)? Sorry for the wordiness here, but it's only way for you to understand what I need (lol!). Lastly, is there anything different about OS 8 (and how it allows the movement of Apps between? As I would probably consider picking up a 2nd Gen. 4K MAX soon (if I could get for half-price during a SALE?). Also, because Amazon is going to their own OS soon ... do you think that might actually cause the '2nd Gen 4K MAX' NOT to be as heavily discounted as in the past ... since they will actually STOP MAKING THEM and it's the only stick with 16 GB of storage (i.e. low quanity/high demand doesn't exactly cause prices to go down, right?). Would appreciate your knowledge on my technical issue ... and your opinion on the pricing thing! Love your videos! You're a Godsend!
