WARNING: Minor spoilers for Disenchanted!
So last year it was Frank and Lily, this year is Giselle and Robert. What live action Disney OTP will I expose next year? Only time will tell
Yes it’s a couple and a movie I never talk about but please know that Enchanted is one of my absolute most favorite Disney movies with one of my all time OTPs and the brain rot got real intense with the sequel. This film is a huge part of my childhood and it was one I rewatched very often, and yet it is also a film that I actually love more as an adult. Being older, I can understand the relationship of Robert and Giselle more and how the movie is this giant love letter to Disney princess movies. Of course, this meant I had high expectations for the sequel, and I’m THRILLED to say that it definitely didn’t disappoint! While there was no new shipping content, the story they did with Giselle and Morgan I thought was EXCELLENT and doing what the first movie did of applying fairytale troupes to the real world to a mother and daughter duo over a romance was just so good and I loved it. Also, the movie is just a blast to watch, I had so much fucking fun. I did end up using a little bit of movie 2 towards the end because there were some moments I loved and wanted to put in there, even if it was just a little bit. Plus there’s more variety of scenes which I always like having in edits!
I originally wanted to do a slow song because I tend to not like working with more upbeat songs with live action? I just have a hard time meshing them together. But the lyrics of “About Love” just worked so fucking well, problem being I didn’t like the instrumentals of the song for editing very much. So I searched high and low for an acoustic cover, a stripped cover, anything that I felt would be better. What I ended up finding was this mashup, and wow I was not expecting it to work this well! It ended up being EXACTLY what I needed! I honestly need to use more mashups, they’re so much fun and I like transitioning into new lyrics!
Anyways, if y’all haven’t seen Disenchanted yet, PLEASE go see it! Its honestly my favorite Disney movie in actual YEARS, as they haven’t made a film that I’ve latched onto this hard in a very long time. And enjoy the video!
