My nephew really likes the Mincraft chapter books. He's 8 though. Eggs are ridiculously priced. The cheapest they've been in my area in weeks was $2.84 at Aldi. We took our meds with peanut butter lol. Peaches and cream by 112, I still listen to it often 🤣 I Love tonkonsu Ramen. I have an egg container and we love it. You can see how many eggs you have left and stack things on top of it without risking cracking.

If he's reading above his level, Call of the Wild is a good book. Even if it's a little difficult, you can sit with him for the first few chapters so it doesn't seem so insurmountable. My son was reading A Tale of Two Cities at around age 11. My other son didn't read until he was 12 years old. It was just a matter of finding something he liked. The other son was reading around 8.

I feel like I first read the Percy Jackson series in grade 5. Adventure, action, myth and history, very gender-neutral (protag is a guy but I'm not), and they're honestly still pretty funny. They kicked off a multi-year obsession with ancient history and, surprise surprise, more books are still getting written. TV show coming out. The movie was awful and the author (really wonderful guy) hated it, too, but is really involved in the show. I really loved the Narnia series, too. From a grown up POV, it can feel kinda Christian, but I was raised atheist and never noticed. I was a huge reader at the time, too. I remember reading Stephen King in middle school and being *very cool* for it lol. In retrospect, reading The Shining at age 11 explains a lot about me. Goosebumps are probably more age-appropriate, if he's into spooky or gross or being scared. Very formulaic and there are like 100s. But, if he's really into reading, let him explore it and move into YA (Hunger Games, Maximum Ride, and Animorphs were my faves; Red Rising is a new fave I would've loved as a preteen) or even adult (LOTR is kinda dense but really worthwhile, I also read a lot of horror and thriller, but they were books my mother and grandmother had read first to screen the more graphic ones). also....omg.chips are just getting more expensive!

You need to get to Costco & Sam's for P&G specials going on. I bought those Everything pita crackers to eat with muenster cheese. ***Also please move your mint and plant it separately as it multiplies and takes over*** You definitely win on the Walmart trip. I thought I had a huge haul the other day and it was $160.01 + $12 tip on the delivery. That will last me 3 to 4 weeks although I think my neighbor will be doing a Sam's Club in Costco run for a few things I need but it won't be much food I don't think other than maybe another gallon of milk and some half and half. Otherwise I should be fairly well stocked. I've gone to grocery shopping every 3 to 4 weeks. That way I spend less overall and it makes me do a better job of eating less snacky type processed foods because I buy them but what I buy has to last me for a long time. It is just me in the house other than the dogs so if I eat all my chips and treats in the first couple weeks then I don't have any for the remaining time so you know it's just about self-control. Also when I wait to shop, I find I waste less items because I try to make sure I empty out my refrigerator fairly well by eating most everything before I go and restock. Cutting out food waste is one of my big goals for this time that we are in. I have been better at it recently then I used to be. I just would automatically shop every week and always have very good intentions of eating healthfully and then that wouldn't always happen and then boom I'm throwing out lettuce and tomatoes and fruit so anyway I'm doing better. Not perfect but better. I can't imagine going and doing shopping trips every week so my hat is off to you, Jen. Thank goodness for grocery pickup and delivery!
