i honestly miss the "every copy of mario 64" is personalized stuff. we got so much cool alternate universe mario 64 stuff out of it, ranging from concepts to rom hacks. sadly it looks like we wont ever get a fully fledged personalized mario 64 hack

For anyone who doesn't know, this was made by a RU-vidr called MarioNova, who decided to replicate some kind of fever dream thing that people apparently had with this game when they were kids and used it for three videos documenting a fever dream akin to this. Probably because of how empty the actual game is.

here’s the thing: I played super mario 64 on the nintendo 64 as a kid, and i remember these things not happening B U T at the exact same time it feels like i do, like i’ve dreamed of them or something. I got extremely strong Deja Vu with the invisible walls in the basement, as well as the floor past the floor in bowsers room. The stairs and the sign in the basement is super familiar and the corridor with all the doors. Extreme Deja Vu with the invisible room library and the pipe outside as well it’s fucking nuts
