飯能まつりは11月の第一週目土曜日、日曜日で開催されます。飯能まつりの大きな特徴の一つとして土日の開催内容が全く異なる点が挙げられます。1日目は市民参加型の市民フェスティバルとしての色合いが濃く、2日目は豪華絢爛な山車が町内をまわる山車まつりとして開催されます。ただ見るだけの祭りではなく、市民が参加しやすい祭りといった点が大きな特徴です。
山車引き合わせ
飯能まつりの一番の見どころといえる、10ヶ町の山車による引き合わせ。1日2回実施されます。
1回目は山車総覧に続いて駅前通りで14時半から、2回目は広小路を中心に10ヶ町の山車を横一列に並べて17時15分から各20分間行われます。各町趣向を凝らした踊りの名手、お囃子の達人たちの腕の見せ所です。それ以外の時間も交差点などで数台の山車が集まり、市街各所で引き合わせを行います。

One of the main characteristics of the Hanno Festival is that the festival is held on two different days: the first day is more of a civic festival with citizen participation, while the second day is a float festival with gorgeous floats going around the town. The festival is not just a festival to watch, but a festival in which citizens can easily participate.
Float parade
The highlight of the Hanno Festival is the parade of floats from 10 different towns, which takes place twice a day.
The first is held at 2:30 p.m. on the street in front of the station following the float tour, and the second is held at 5:15 p.m. with floats from 10 different towns lined up side by side on Hirokoji Street, each lasting 20 minutes. Each town shows off the skills of its own dance masters and musical accompanists. At other times, several floats gather at intersections and other places in the city, and pull together in various parts of the city.
