对。 您讲的非常好. Tony Leong 的英语 is Simple And Easy To Understand. This Is All We Need. Ask That Stupid Clown go to eat himself......Who give him the Right To Comment Tony Leong English. Even MARVEL STUDIO IN HOLLYWOOD Did Not Complain.
@@nnn2184 bcos the "Gweilos" would not "belittle" or " mock" actors/actresses' command of English as they understand it is not their native language. Whereas, Asian people like to make fun or laugh at the English learners. Just like, Cantonese speaking people would not simply "joke" at the command of Cantonese of non-Cantonese speakers.
Right is right, wrong is wrong. Why we have to learn wrong things in our lives. Most of people don't want to correct themselves even if they know what is right and what is wrong. What a ridiculous world it is.
Are u sure that he only has Form 3 level?! I always thought he had finished his high school education. I don’t know how true it is, but if this is the case, his English is way way better than a F.3 student, even a lot better than those from celebrity schools, seriously! He did make some mistakes, but it happens to all non-native speakers when u have to talk raw. Think about some people like Yip Lau Regina who used to be teaching in high schools and she also wrote English books years ago, but when she was being interviewed or when she was upset, she made mistakes in her spoken English as well. Tony’s English is good enough for daily conversation. See Chow Yuen Fat, he can speak pretty good English now and without very thick HK accent. And Tony too, I’m sure he hired some native tutor to instruct him how to remove his accent.
@@barrydemay3348 i think he went to an international school, and F.3 in his days was definitely different from F.3 these days lol. No one looks down on him for his education history. Many are actually impressed by his English since he has obviously worked hard on it even after he left school. Tony’s English is absolutely good enough for daily conversations, and tbh even native speakers make grammatical mistakes too. But it’s not a reason for us to ignore grammar or mistakes. We can learn from others’ and our (as mmg mentioned in the clip, many Hongkongers make the same mistakes as Tony did in the interview) mistakes too!
It's very unfair. 梁朝偉 speaks better English than this Michael guy. 梁朝偉 speaks better English than most HKers. Yes, 梁朝偉 has mistakes in his English, but his tone is almost like old school British English. He's able to express himself and carry a conversation with the interviewer. Most HKers can't even do that. 梁朝偉 didn't even finish high school and he's never lived overseas. This Michael guy has no right to criticize 梁朝偉's English.
If you finished watching the video, you will know that he is not criticizing Tony Leung. He is pointing out the mistake Tony made during the interview for education purposes. He also showed appreciation for Tony’s dedication and professionalism. Your comment basically saying Tony Leung said 1+1=3 and I can’t point out his mistake because He did not have a lot of schooling and that he is already trying his best. You will need to know the difference between constructive feedback and criticism.
@@samuelyu9222 The Michael guy was making fun of 梁朝偉's "pool". It's debatable if 梁朝偉 really said poo instead of pool. All I know is 梁朝偉's L in "tell" and "villain" were all perfectly enunciated, at least to my ears. I actually have more issues with this Michael guy's L or lack of it in his "soulful". The L sound is always tricky. He said you needed to 頂 your tongue. The L sound comes from your throat but to make the sound, people often stick their tongue out or touch the back of their front teeth. I'm not sure if 頂 is the right way to do it. I have never heard this Michael guy speak more than a sentence. It's an open question if he can even carry a conversation in English. I heard 梁朝偉 speak English years ago in another interview. My first reaction was I didn't know how to react because it was so unexpectedly impressive. I think this Michael guy is doing a disservice. If for anything, 梁朝偉's English skills should be celebrated. A better discussion would be on how 梁朝偉 said words like "character" and "prepare" so beautifully British. I know it's not just because Hong Kong was British as most HKers of any age can't do so.
@@samuelyu9222 i finish watching the video, but still think that he insulted Tony in the middle of the clip. His attitude is arrogant and disgusting. Probably he thought that it was not a problem if he compliment Tony at the beginning and tail of the video
well…to be fair , try review some foreigner artists who speak their mother tongue and Chinese or Cantonese … in Malaysia, we have to speak Malay, English, Chinese, Cantonese, Hokkiens, Hakka, Hainan you don't expect us to know all grammar and pronunciation of each dialect and language ! language is a tool for communication as long as everyone understand it and not to condemn anyone who try to speak
Your comment is highly intelligent! When Tony Leung is speaking English during the interview, my foreigner friend just saying he speaks English very well.
Dialogue coach. His English is very good (better than mine). Actually, he only has F3 level and his secondary school..... I am sure he is a very hard working person. Love ❤️ him.
Omg , I Salute You. I Totally Agree With Your Statement. Who Give This Stupid Clown The Right To Comment Tony Leong English. Who The F..K... He think he is.... I Personally Feel This Is All About Envy or Jealousy. Tony English Is Simple And Easy To Understand. That Is What We Ask For. Ask That Stupid Clown Go Shit somewhere else....Oops , no Offensive.....🙄🙄🙄🙄
Exactly, this douche bag done nothing other than critic. Perhaps he think that he is top of the world. The word NARCISSISTIC in Tony Leung interview is suit to this clown perfectly.
但以前英治,例如我媽,讀到中五,講英文都好過依家某部份大學生. Reason, it's because they spoke English with their bosses/classmates in the pass. Now, they mostly speak Cantonese or Mandarin to them. No wonder why 中五 not speak good English this days. Well, they may not even able to speak Cantonese in the future too......hahaha.
Actually this video gives quite a positive comment on Tony especially at the beginning and the end of it. Those grammatical errors are indeed very common and good examples. The sarcastic style of Michael along with Tony's attraction makes it fun to watch while learning from others. BTW, I am amazed by Tony's English pronunciation throughout the movie. Bravo!
I honestly don't know how this guy could become an English tutor/teacher/RU-vidr with his heavy HK accent. He was making fun of 梁朝偉's L sound, but this guy himself has a very weak L. I couldn't hear any L in his "soulful". I've never heard this guy speak more than a sentence in English. Can he even carry a conversation in English? Or is he like a football announcer who doesn't even know how to kick a ball?
This is from Los Angeles, California, I don’t think it’s fair to criticize Tony Leung for his English grammar especially You don’t use it in your daily life and I have listen to many public figures with higher education degrees and their English were not as fluent as Tony, so why pick on the minor stuff and I’m so proud of his accomplishments and He should be congratulated. I have been living in the United States for over 72 years and never care much about Grammar in everyday conversation, so what’s the big deal. From the western media not a word was mentioned Of his short coming in his English Grammar and that is a gesture of courtesy and consideration to a respectful man And English is not his mother tongue.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. The tone of this video is quite condescending so I just don't see how anyone can benefit from it. The blogger decided to use Tony's fame for people to click in and then made fun of him. What the hell! I am proud of Tony's accomplishment and enjoy his work. Being interviewed in a second language must be more difficult than it seems, unlike uploading a video that you can edit dozens of times until you are totally satisfied with the final version.
If anyone wants to learn English, should learn it properly, either grammatically or conversationally. English is a second language is not an excuse, MMG didn't discredit Tony's hard work and accomplishment, as a matter of fact, he just wants to point out how the common mistake occurred during our casual conservation. Relax, people!!
Maybe. However, why used it if not many people knew about it this days? So, many other terms can be used! Plus, you could see his reactions and ways he think about it when used that word. You knew he wasn't sure on that term/word!
@@samtong4961 "not many people?? it's such a typical way to describe another individual's attitude / feeling; "angriness" is actually used very commonly. If certain individuals cannot derive (or use context / conversational cues) the meaning from "angriness" (angry...? ), then they should maybe conversate more in English.
@@androidlola7532 So, THEY and USED COMMONLY! Where??? Because difference countries used and spoke English differently. North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Oceania are most common English speaking continents. I only heard people used that word less than handful of times (so, not very common..... maybe, you could travel more after covid to see around the world and view/learn English in all over the world before continuing with your madness about things). Thank you!
@@samtong4961 your reasoning and explanation are laughable. Maybe you should live or study abroad (preferably in a western country to improve your English "before" responding to me or other people here on RU-vid) first before trying to "introduce" how "other" countries use English commonly. You couldn't even express yourself adequately (search that up if you don't know what that means). What you just said implies that you don't even understand what "used commonly" means. You never heard simply means you have minimal experience or exposure to that language; thanks for exposing your "English" level! To reiterate, please educate yourself first. Thank you!
No matter what, Superstar is there.. Cristiano Ronaldo only got junior high school education but he can speak 3 languages, a degree means nothing to any Superstar on this planet. Tony Leung is fabulous. Parisian like him a lot. Thx
