This was before the era of Sisi, Now Egypt's military has a diverse equipment from around the globe including China, Russia, France, India, Germany, Italy, the US. And there is also a fast growing domestic military arms service organised by the ministry of Military production, which is a seperate ministry other than the Ministry of defence.
@omaralkammash9225 still the Egyptian military is like a branch of the American military. and the military in egypt being the core of the deapstate. Makes Egypt as a hole a cleint state or atleast an American sphere of influence
@@yasien3 Can you tell me how much of the Military uses American Equipment in Percentage? And even let's say the Military is 30% American for example, The US Aid that the US sends to Egypt is around $1.5 billion annually. Now in Comparison, the whole GDP of Egypt is $400 Billion by Nominal terms, meaning that the US aid is extremely insignificant compared to Egypt and its size. And when you see Russian and Chinese Investments in Egypt (both in Military and the Economy) that highly dwarfs the whole US aid (Chinese Investments in Egypt alone are around $8 billion for example), the statement that Egypt is in the US political sphere is not bound with any solid evidence other than Leftist and Islamist Propaganda.
@@omaralkammash9225 I agree with you, and I believe that Egypt firmly remains one of the non-aligned countries, like it was during the cold war (when it even had good relationships with Tito's Yugoslavia), but what do you mean by "leftist propaganda"? I'm a European communist, I strongly oppose US and Israeli imperialism and colonialism and I support the liberation struggle of the Palestinian people, as well as Chinese hegemony over American hegemony in geopolitics, but I haven't heard many fellow European leftists call Egypt an American puppet state... 🤔 They sometimes say that about Saudi Arabia and the gulf states, (although even there I would argue that they're wrong, and that the house of Saud more saw America as an ally of convenience when it was weak, poor and undeveloped in the 20th century, but now that it is more rich and powerful it dares to have an independent foreign policy from the US, as it showed repeatedly by voting in Russia's favour in OPEC, selling oil in Yuan, signing that China-brokered peace deal with Iran etc) but I don't think many leftists believe that Egypt in particular is an American satellite state - do Egyptian leftists often make that point? Looking forward to your reply, and all the best to you and all Arab peoples from a Romanian anti-imperialist!
@@Vict0r1984 what I mean by "Leftists" is not the Communists or Socialists who would be found globally (Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East, etc) Rather, I mean it in the sense of the Traditional "Right Wing" (Republicans) Vs "Left Wing" (Democrats) in American Politics and the mainstream though in the West. I guess it was my bad, I should have used "Liberals" as a more accurate word than "Leftists". The current Regime of Egypt under Sisi can be considered a Center-right Ideological Structure based on the American/Western Political spectrum, the main philosophy and stream of thought of the current Egyptian Regime conflicts with the US left wing, or "Liberals" as a better word to describe them, let me explain more: Egypt is currently a Hybird regime that is leaning towards being an Authoritarian state, where it attempts to apply Democracy "on paper", free Elections do happen and anyone can apply for Presidency, however this comes after alot of Restrictions and rules, and Often biases Occure in favour of Sisi. This happens mainly because Socially speaking, Sisi has a hight popularity rating and is seen as a Father figure by Modern Egyptians, a Father of the Nation "Atatürk" or "Putin" style, and that's because several Important events in Modern Egyptian history 10 to 15 years ago. This Authoritarian nature of Sisi Conflicts with the Western liberals, and they often accuse Sisi of Human rights violations, abuses, etc (Well, they always do with anyone they don't like). The Claim that Sisi is a Western American puppet mainly arises from Islamists, and that's because traditionally, The US is seen as the main Enemy in the eyes of Islamists, and it was Sisi who eliminated Islamists Rule back in 2013, so you have the Political game getting played again, with the use of misinformation and Propaganda. And the Irony is, it seems that the Liberals and Western Leftists (Who Conflict with Islamists and their Ideology) had come to an agreement with the Islamists against Sisi and his Regime, and you'd often see Islamists aligning with Liberals against Sisi in their Channels, that's Politics for you. (This too has happened Sadat back in the 1970s) Now keep in mind that, it's true, Egypt currently still remains a non aligned Country and doesn't align with Either the West or East, and Egyptian foreign Diplomacy has a balanced approach between The US, China and Russia, etc, but it's far from being a Socialist or Leftist even from an Egyptian sense, from within Egyptian Society, the Nasserists actually Conflict and oppose Sisi's Regime, Sisi has abandoned Nasser's Socialist policies, Modern Egypt is no longer the Nasserite State of the 50s and 60s, and Sisi is actually attempting to Liberalise thr Economy and is Establishing a Capitalist system on paper (Though Sisi is more a Pragmatist, and is not a full on 100% Capitalist in the Traditional Western sense, he still applies Social Reforms and policies to migitate the negatives of the Capitalist system, an Example of this is "Haya Karima" and "Takaful wa Karama" Initatives) So In Conclusion, Politically speaking, Sisi's Regime has the same style of Russia's Putin, while Economically, it's taking a similar approach to the Modern China under the CCP, where Sisi is Liberalising the Economy to be more open to free trade, Encouraging private sector growth, and promoting Foreign Investments after decades of Socialism (though I still believe that China is more Socialist than Sisi).
